What a beautiful surprise. I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but it wasn't Franklin singing "Nothing Rhymed". I saw Gilbert on television for the first time in 1969 (?) and was struck by his Irish-small town look. Nothing Rhymed" is a powerful, underrated song and Franklin gave power to it that I couldn't imagine. Well done, sir.

@@malcolmgerald No, I'm talking about my experience with the song. I'm talking about the society we had in Ireland in the seventies. Even Neil Diamond said that an eighteen should not have written that song. It was well beyond his years. You don't think like a real Irishman, so you don't get it. I was told by a teacher that I was a deep thinker when I was eleven. That should not be discouraged!
