You have talent turning up once a week to do some spots or use some weapons and piss off again, talent saying in public that they don't care about learning from the many veterans they're wasting, plenty of talent that don't care to sell anything or make anything look even remotely realistic (Moxley's is particularly awful), and many other things that simply do not exist in the WWE because they make you learn how to do it properly and if you don't have a vested interest in doing so, they just send you back to the bingo halls. AEW took the cast of a bingo hall (quite literally in the case of PWG), put it on TV and did nothing to make the talent suitable for said TV.

You could tell you guys talking about we should stop the tribalism have no clue what professional wrestling is about. Professional wrestling has always been tribalism if this wrestler or that wrestler was from a different promotion. You didn't like him. That's how heals and faces were made across the country. You could be in one territory and be a face there, but another territory and be a heel. Could you imagine if in the '90s we were told stop with the tribalism during the Monday night wars? No, you were either a WWE fan or a wcw fan. You were not both so you young guys that actually don't understand professional wrestling need to shut up already.

Im still trying to figure out a reason why I should like this guy. The closest I could come up with is he is related to two gentlemen who deserved what he has way more than he does. Cody's career is not even half of how long Dustin has been sacrificing his body in there. On top of that, Dustin got some of the worst heat in history. And im not talking the heat you want as a heel. People hated his life for the Goldust gimmick. I suppose the second thing that is cool about Cody is his hell in a cell match with a busyed up shoulder/peck

Cody’s super committed to the business, and his past history of being unpushed in WWE and going around the world to independent events, making a name for himself, before returning to WWE is a true prodigal son story. I dont like his promos as much as some other wrestlers but his story is so real and thats why it works so well.

The “pretend” isn’t about the wrestling part, it’s about being a part time wrestler. People who expect to be taken serious in the ring when all they do is show up for two shows out of the whole entire month to wrestle.
