There's an acoustic guitar... 💁🏽♀️😂😂
Listening to the album I always thought that the strange vibrato was the result of an auto-tune or other pitch-bending effects plug-in.... I would have NEVER guessed that it's from Jonny physically touching his throat with his hand. Now THAT is genius! I love it!
@Project4113

Darroh Sudderth from Fair To Midland is where I believe this singer got the fingers to throat idea from, so Darroh would be the real genius. Both bands are based in Texas so I'm sure they're familiar with each other. Look up A Loophole In Limbo (Violitionist Sessions) for an example. This band Nothing More kind of reminds me of FTM. If you've never heard them you should check them out. The official video for Musical Chairs is pretty bad-ass.
@trevorrische6294

jerry ramirez I would agree that they sound similar to FTM. FTM has been a fave of mine for a long time now. As cool as it is, Darroh no way 'invented' the throat push. He may have made it slightly more popular but people have been using this method for many years. I love this song! Both bands are kick ass!

Agreed. Darroh was the first that I had seen use that method but I'm sure there were many before him. I love both bands too!

Obviously there is a lot of effects with the vocals anyways... Lot of delay and reverb. Sounds like a chorus effect is used and even a phaser in parts.

@@Josh-ky8ei happy holidays! honestly I could never really find any bands that do what Fair to Midland did. there's a few similar bands like Rishloo, Dear Sherlock, maybe Birds of Tokyo to a certain extent or even Dead Letter Circus, but it's just not the same. there's a band called '3' with an album called The Ghost That You Gave To Me which is also pretty good, but again, it's alternative rock-ish and doesn't really stand out (to me) like Fair to Midland definitely did.

When did we become these sinking stones? When did we build this broken home? Holding each other like ransom notes Dropping our hearts to grip our brothers' throats I'm... at the bottom of the ocean floor Eye for eye I'm drowning just to keep score Blaming the world outside ourselves Surrounded by mirrors in a sinking ship When did we become these sinking stones? When did we build this broken home? Holding each other like ransom notes Dropping our hearts to grip our brothers' throats You can't see because you don't know You're caught below, beneath your own shadow Stuck inside, half alive Do you ever stop to ask yourself why? Close your mind, identify Do you feel, do you feel? Do you call this a life? All you waited for Drowning just to keep score We always start with good intentions But lose ourselves along the way This is the time that we let it go These are the words that will take us home Singing the song that's inside us all If we don't open our eyes we're walking blind Anchored in anger, we exile ourselves Bitter blood builds our prison cell Darker water now fills our lungs The depths of our heart have blacked the sun You can't see because you don't know You're caught below, beneath your own shadow Stuck inside, half alive Do you ever stop to ask yourself why? Close your mind, identify Do you feel, do you feel? Do you call this a life? All you waited for Drowning just to keep score We always start with good intentions But lose ourselves along the way This is the time that we let it go These are the words that will take us home Singing the song that's inside us all If we don't open our eyes we're walking blind Naked we come, naked we leave Fools we are, to hold tightly We are free, we are free We are the jail, we are the key [2x] This is the time that we let it go Yeah, these are the words that will take us home Singing the song that's inside us all If we just open our eyes This is the time that we let it go This is the pain we are forced to know Singing the song that's inside, inside us all, inside us all Walking blind
This band is unbelievable Unique and highly underrated

That’s it… Enough’s enough!!! Cranking up a petition. Let’s see if I stand alone with this. By show of hands 🤚🏼 how many agree with me? (“This is the time” that we let it go) We as die hard fans must let go of the recorded studio version, and permanently listen to this masterpiece, sick AF acoustic version that Nothing More has put together with SiriusXM only!! To hell with the studio version… Dude, watch their body language for fk sakes, they totally rely upon each other. This is what it’s about!! Turn up the volume 🤘🏼
For those that think this is terrible and over-produced, take into consideration, this song was performed in a glass chamber. That will change the effects of the sound greatly.
This one is addictive
For some reason I like this song even more as an "unplugged" style of song. And that's saying a lot because I already REALLY liked BALLAST as it was. Nothing More must be under a lot of pressure to produce a kick butt follow-up album. I really think that they are one of the most unique sounding new bands to hit the scene in the past handful of years.

The lead singer has one of the better vocal ranges I've ever heard. There are only a handful of guys who can hit that high of a note.

You're listening to the wrong genre then. Most post-hardcore bands have singers that can hit high notes like that.
@MarsCandyBar
9 жыл бұрын
sugarhighwhoo There's a difference between ranging that note and a high head voice. A lot of post-hardcore bands have singers with that high of a head voice, but have little to no range. Anthony Green is hands down the only one in the post-hardcore genre who can truly compare to this guy.
@sugarhighwhoo
9 жыл бұрын
MarsCandyBar Jonny Craig, Jag, tyler carter, danny worsnop, and many more all have very good ranges. I'll agree that his vocal style is closer to Anthony Green perhaps, but in terms of who can hit what notes there are many that are on par. Which goes back to what I originally was commenting on: "there are only a handful of guys who can hit that high of a note", I never said anything about ranges.

Who disliked this video and WHY?? THESE GUYS ARE AMAZING. I had the awesome opportunity to see them recently at a local, small club and they are extremely talented and very personable!
This is the first song I decided to listen to after purchasing my new headphones. Easily the most money I've ever spent on a pair of headphones... and I am blown away.
So I first heard this song on Music Choice when my mom was listening to it. I thought it was good, but didn't think much else. But every single time I went into my girlfriend's Dunkin Donuts I heard it playing on their radio. Then, like a welcome disease, it grew on me. My hat's off to you guys. Well done.
Absolutely amazing. Love everything about this band. When you can't decide or make a distinction between if a band sounds better live or in studio, then you have something special.

This band has been an inspiration and favorite since the first time I saw them live and was blown away they were not the headliners back in 2014 opening for Killswitch Engage, Five Finger Death Punch, and Hell Yeah. They truly possess incredible talent and worked their way to be at the top. They deserve far more acclaim despite their already massive success nearly a decade later. I would love to see them playing alongside Metallica, another favorite and inspiration growing up. The heart and soul felt in the music aside from the talent is up there with some of the greatest bands, and they've kept notching up with every new release. Can't wait to catch them again on tour. Cheers, and God bless 🙏🏻

BR0K3NARCH3TYP3 and what does this have to do with MJK being my favorite?
@BR0K3NARCH3TYP3
9 жыл бұрын
***** uh, no. The power in any MJK song sounds really forced and not right. Also, the highest note in this song is an F6, that's 10 notes higher than the highest note in Ticks and Leeches (G5). But the thing is, it's apples to oranges. Personally I think MJK sounds great when he just sings, it has this amazing subtle quality, just as much as I enjoy the amazing chops of this guy. But like I said, apples to oranges, and art is subjective.
I want to hear this song just once...said no one ever :D blasting repeat until they disable the button, amazing

This is the most incredible thing I've ever seen from this band. And that's saying something.
I love watching the boost in energy every time one of them nails their vocals. The emotion and precision. They aren't feeding off of the audience, just themselves and their love for music. Amazing!

Yah this isn't metal, sorry. xD Future of alternative rock? I'd say this is a great step up.

I understand what you mean. There is not only one kind of metal. This is more metal than alt rock, but less metal than metalcore or deathcore, doom and so on.... Pop rock ? no fckn way bro ! Pop rock is U2 .. come on. These kind of bands are priceless cause they are over labels ! Like Enter Shikari are !
Jonny is absolutely awesome, I've met him (and the rest of the band) in person, but the way Daniel just handles everything! Goosebumps ❤️
Glad this band came up right as Fair To Midland broke up. They have filled the hole in my heart from FTM's departure. Keep up the great work guys! Keep Rock ALIVE!
These guys are so goddamn awesome T.T you need one song to fall in love with their music, really. If that's not talent, I don't know what is ._.

Aira Kaine I've always (and I mean since around 2004) said you just need to see them live and you will be hooked. best live performances ever, and this video doesn't even do them justice

It seems to be the case with a lot of bands I know. Unfortunately, not everybody has the luck that you do :P But hopefully, some day ;)

Their music is good on a record, or a video, but they will blow you away. Guaranteed

I'm not into that kind of rock, I listen some heavy stuff like Gojira or other post death metal things. A friend managed to bring me to a Nothing More show although I almost don't like anything in this style. I just have to admit now, the show just blew me away. They're scene beasts.
That was.. awesome. I just heard of these guys about a month back and now I have to hear em every day.
I honestly did not expect that to be that good...just an all-around great rock performance..
When did we become these sinking stones? When did we build this broken home? Holding each other like ransom notes, Dropping our hearts to grip our brother’s throats. I am on the bottom of the ocean for eye for eye. I’m drowning just to keep the score. I’m leaving the world outside ourselves Surrounding by mires and sinking shore. When did we become these sinking stones? When did we build this broken home? Holding each other like ransom notes, Dropping our hearts to grip our brother’s throats. You can’t see Cuz you don’t know - Caught below beneath your own shadow, stuck inside half alive. Do you ever stop To ask yourself why? Close your mind, Identify. Do you feel, do you feel? Do you call this a life? All you’ve waited for, drowning just to keeps no more. All we start with good intentions but lose ourselves along the way. This is the time that we let it go. These are the words that ‘ll take us home. Singing the song that’s inside us all, if we don’t open our eyes we’re Walking blind. Anchored in anger, we exile ourselves. Bitter blood builds our prison cells. The darker water now fills our lungs. The depths of our heart have blacked the sun. Singing the song that’s inside us all, If we don’t open our eyes we’re.. Naked we come - Naked we leave. Fools we are To hold tightly. We are free… We are free… This is the time that we let it go. These are the words that ‘ll take us home. Singing the song that’s inside us all, If we don’t open our eyes we’re Walking blind. This is the time that we let it go. This is the pain we will force to know, Singing the song that’s inside soul of us all,soul of us all! Walking blind!
These guys are incredible! That's one of the best live performances I've ever seen.

The production makes them unique. Recently saw them live at a small local club and the talent is VERY much there. They were very personable also. Love them!!!
