Alot of people hosting a get together or bbq and say "go ahead there folks, go fix yourself up a couple of dogs" to the guests and they'd not see anything unusual about saying that, and would not assume that they're quoting a line from a movie. Not unless they really knew this one, which alot of people haven't. Even then, they may not think they're quoting anything because it's a pretty regular normal kind of thing to say when having made hotdogs for your guests.

This is really one of those movies that only those who like me have a twisted and odd sense of humour, and there in lies the issue most had with it....it's essentially a high budget cult film that mistakenly got marketed towards a mainstream who had no idea what to make of it. However there are those like myself who enjoy cinematic oddities who can really appreciate it for what it was.

I love the way John Candy smiles up at himself when he's serving himself a hot dog.

The insane music that plays through this whole scene, the train, the dogs and condiments is just over the top. Eldona is hilarious.

This is one of my favorite scenes in this AMAZING movie. So underappreciated in it's time.

That was the intention from the director/star/writer/producer Dan Aykroyd, he came up with the idea when he took a friend of his to a screening of Clive Barker’s Hellraiser and he noticed that the audience were laughing at the film so he set out on making a monster movie of sorts with horror elements of Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Hellraiser with a comedic and spooky tone akin to the Universal Monster crossover films starring Abbot and Costello and Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice.

I watched this all of the time with my brother when we were kids. Too many times to count. Definitely a cult classic.

"The hills have eyes" is different than I remembered.

It wasn’t until 3 years ago that I found out this was a real movie. I thought it was a fever dream with all my favorite childhood rappers 😂RIP digital underground

I watched this as a very little boy, it always stuck with me. I could remember this scene but I couldn't for the life of me remember any actors, or what this movie was. Thanks for solving a 35 year mystery for me.

back then that's how Hawaiian punch came; in a big can and we did have smaller versions of that oil spigot at home to pour from!
