This "not too sweet buttercream frosting" recipe is the perfect hybrid between American buttercream and Swiss meringue buttercream! It's a dream to frost cakes and cupcakes with it, and I even use it to make wedding cakes!

Thank you for making this a smaller version for those of us that dont need it for 4 cakes. And I have wanted to try this kind of frosting but wasnt sure it was going to be that great so now that I know its Chelsweets approved Im more comfortable making it !! 😊

Appreciate the tips and will use this in the future. I have a question, what style of frosting is best for cake covering and decorating? Last night I made Russian buttercream and added Ghirardelli’s caramel sauce and it was too thin even after adding 3 and half cups of powdered sugar.

i was wondering if we could still use fresh eggs and cook it on a bain marie but instead of granulated sugar, we use powdered sugar?

Yes, as long as they are pasteurized. If you're not sure if they are, you can look up a video online about how to pasteurize them yosuelf with some warm-hot water with the eggs in a pan for a few minutes.

There is no such thing as sweet , whole butter. It’s either salted or unsalted. In this video it’s 100% unsalted

this is pasteurized egg whites - safe to eat without cooking
