The humor in this show hasn't lost it's edge, even after 43 years! There are very few shows that can claim the same.

Oh my god....one of the best programs of my teenage years.
15:37 Griff Rhys-Jones was incredible in the John McEnroe sketch.
John McEnroe sketch- awesome! 😂
Hard to believe this programme is 43 years old now. Interesting that, despite frequently referencing current affairs of the 80s it still manages to be funny and that the concerns of the day are not so dissimilar to our own as we might think. The biggest shift seems to be the huge impact of social media but generally, it's 'Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose'.
Had this recorded on a VHS, must have watched it a ton as I knew every line
Rowans MP reminds me so much of Jacob Reese Mogg.
I used to hate crackly VHS. I love it now.
6:18 ... No Death, no gravity and a different shaped gear stick on the mini-metro! Still remember this sketch from back in the day. So many lines from the shows going through my head now. One of the best comedy shows ever. Cheers.

14:35 -- The funniest sketch in this whole episode (and there's a bunch of them) is the John McEnroe impersonation by Griff. It also seems funny to me how people seemed to have forgotten McEnroe's antics versus the umpires during the 1980s.
Recognised the Betamax recording immediately! There's exactly the same Betamax recording of this show somewhere at my mum's!
Bloody hillarious!

43 years later and politics have done nothing to tackle anything from 43 years ago..
They should have dug a hole in the garden and put a wooden door on top of it. The „disturbances“ (hopping picture) made it even more real. Unemployed wildebeests…😂 I would have wanted to see more of Zack.

British television was the funniest off the wall and original.
This was a damn funny show!
Ahead of it's time.
I used to think this was "hilarious..." still really clever at times! The 'alien' sketch, and Question time also quite good. And "Bob..." and next day you'd all be calling each other 'Bob' the school playground?
Thanks for sharing!
Oh dear, the old days of dodgy vertical and horizontal hold knobs
RIP Mel Smith 2:51 and Mary Tamm 6:06.
Sunday nights, before school
Good music
I never thought I would think of Rowan Atkinson as "hot", but green is really his color for showing his facial features.
When comedy was amazing
6:14 - It was amazing to see they already knew the issues with translation computers back in the 1980s. Although I've seen the same trouble with Autocorrect.

Fuck I was too young to appreciate their humour back in 90s but now I do,fucking bunch of very witfull cunts
I remember I different version of alien sketch, he says Duracell batteries, and licon or the one who asks to many question on earth he is known as micheal parkinson
Those that are too young may not understand the McEnroe sketch.
This was a strange day to land on this video. Russian nuclear war - it goes to show how long this has been a potential issue and it's heartbreaking.
What is an American kitchen without an arbitrary collection of sports pennants?
Rowan Atkinson as the Alien was great - but when he spoke about the end of our civilization I couldn't help noticing the Z on his costume which reminded me of the Z on Putin's tanks.

hmm, was the Geoff Capes bit taken from a meet at Gateshead? Trying to think of where else was open like that that did the British Meat games
Well that explains John McEnroe, parents lying to wind him up all the time.

You can also search "Malaysia meat cartel scandal" here and you will see my answer is BOTH a joke AND a tragedy. ALSO, kangaroo meat from a quick google is most likely not readily available in the UK, not because of some illegal activity in southeast Asia but possibly because of low demand. It's definitely there but you will have to go directly to the sellers to get it.
@sophitsa79

@@meilinchan7314 I looked it up and got an education on the scandal. With the house meat scandal some years back in Europe, it makes you wonder what you're actually eating when you eat meat. I have the cartels been arrested by police or will they go through a kangaroo court? (I had to go with a joke but I'm no comedian)😄
@meilinchan7314

@@sophitsa79 : Thing is, #horsegate probably began with the creation of the EU single market, but in Malaysia's case, the Meat Cartel racket has been around for decades. And although arrests were made last year, I don't think that the REAL masterminds were caught. Nobody believes that a bunch of lowly paid penpushers were the real culprits.

The most striking thing here is that they were allowed to use the word holocaust without anyone saying that they were disrespectful to Jews. This was only 10 years since Holocaust with a capital H started to appear in dictionaries.
