If people work together We can do extraordinary things. The French and English working together was very special at the time and the results were showing the world 💪❤️ The tunnel and AIRBUS came after what more can we do to serve our population? Will we even surpass the stunning supersonic lady’s?

Did the Sierra get a Zetec engine near the end of its life ? I don't remember that it did ?
@BlueDeepSeas5 күн бұрын
It did not. The last motor the Sierra received was a DOHC that replaced the Pinto.

A nice video. It brings back lots of fond memories. My first transatlantic flight was in '83, JFK-LHR on TWA. Wished it could have been on Pan Am, but still a wonderful experience. Empty seats, smoking sections (thank God that's gone); things have certainly changed 😎

This is from either late November or early December 1987 as they announce the last of the extant relays being equipped with Channel 4, the last being Gunnislake in Cornwall. Adrian Good and Janet Salkeld (née Smyth) are your announcers.

They considered that a Super Jumbo was the future.... and that's what was developed, the Airbus A380. But sadly, like Concorde, it arrived too late, the hub & spoke model was finishing, giving way to direct flights on twin engined wide -bodies......
