Retired pilot here! The reason passengers are boarded on time even with a late take off slot is in case the slot comes forward which does happen sometimes when another aircraft drops out of the queue or the airline ops centre files a different routing to get a better slot time. If you don't have the passengers on board you run the risk of missing the slot and picking up an even bigger delay. PS I have no remit for Easyjet but can assure you this is why passengers are boarded with a late slot. I am not saying this was the case on your flight (!) but departure time is defined as to when the aircraft pushes back off the stand even if this means going to a remote stand and then waiting there. This means the airline can log an on time departure. I don't personally agree with this practice I hasten to add.

Crosby beach looks beautiful in late spring sunshine. We are doing a staycation holiday this summer. On our way up to Scotland, we will pop into the Bus Yard for a bite for lunch.

We book a Jet2 package but always jump in a taxi when we arrive as too eager to get to the hotel but on the way home we always get the free transfer back to the airport as that’s not very exciting 🤣☀️ In the new terminal we dropped bags, gone through family security lane and was in duty free within 6 minutes last time! Can’t fault it xx

Tbh I find Spanish airports in general fantastic. They are always so efficient. I have had it in Alicante, Barcelona and Tenerife South where I have been from Bag Drop to Duty Free in 5 mins or less

Great video Andrew. With Tenerife south, TUi & Jet 2 still use the old check in area, not in the C Zone 👍👍 And a flight restriction is where a drone or something of that nature is flying around the airport, that’s what google says 👍

Love early morning flights out and later flights home to gain an extra day's holiday! We go to Gran Canaria and the later flight is not quite as late as yours - more like 7.30pm, and then with hand luggage only, it's not too bad.

Flew back from tenerife on the 13th at 2155, gate C, no issues, 2 queues at gate for Priority/non priority, straight to a Gatwick hotel on landing then made my way home on the train later that day

We always book jet2 from Manchester Airport never had issues with luggage on returning at early am arrival normally 15-20 minutes wait at the baggage belt.

Helpful and informative as ever . Think you were a bit unlucky this time. We always fly home between 8pm and 10pm to Manchester rarely have a problem. These days Ryanair and all good. Btw currently in Los Cristianos and went to Palmetum botanical Gardens in Santa Cruz on your recommendation.. fantastic! Day saver on the bus 12 Euros and 6 euros entrance and also a wander round shopping malls you have shown in the past. Have fun back in the UK.

Just wanted to say I’m a new mum and I couldn’t find any trainers that were comfy enough to walk a lot in even sketchers hurt my feet, I got some on clouds as you said they were really good and their amazing I can continuously walk in them now and my feet don’t hurt so Thankyou for the reccomendation :)

Just had a late flight back from tenerife to dublin. Ryanair,so queued up at c39, lady checked are tickets down the queue and then announced we changed gate to c35, well everyone ran down to next gate, ridiculous 😂typical ryanair.home very late,lucky got a bus as queues for taxis were mayhem.very impressed with tenerife airport lots of space, comfy chairs and security was very organised and quick. I agree if u can avoid large suitcases and just book prority and rucksack alot quicker and less hassle.cant wait for thr florida vlogs , enjoyed tenerife, very overcast tho unfortunately also didnt get to see u guys

We always get the bus to Los Cristianos from airport & back again to the airport X

We always use the bus and buy a bono card for our three month stay in Tenerife. Already got some euros on it for our return in December

Boarding also seems so much slower these days, when Airlines charge for hold luggage and everyone is trying to pack their massive case in the cabin.

The flight restriction is not necessarily for TFS but somewhere else enroute. The airline has to board and get it's doors closed on time in the hope that the time restriction comes forward.

If the UK flights are at one end of the terminal, you can almost guarantee that the inter-island flights will be at the other. Last time I flew back from UK, I went via Gran Canaria to La Palma. There are few direct flights. There was no concept of transferring luggage between flights. Every other airport can do it. I hope Tenerife Sur can.

Got home at 4ish this morning after the TUI 22.15 flight..Will not be doing it again.

That airport bus from Los Cristianos is brilliant! It runs better than the trains in the UK and is super cheap, quick and efficient! That being said, I definitely prefer an early flight.

Just flew back last night on Easyjet from TFS, wife needs assistance and was treated great. Arrived back in Edinburgh at 01.10, disembarking helped by assistance team, first cases off belt! Unbelievable😂 Think it will be our last red eye flight, hanging about accommodation all day after vacating apartment at midday 😡 Flight left from older part of TFS as well.

The slot restrictions, whilst I cannot be certain, could be due to the French ATC Strikes? They have been causing chaos with flight delays in Europe atm so may well have been that. But domestic French flights are protected, it’s madness!

I might nip that bus yard mate, looks really nice ! 👌

Just got back from Tenerife and the buses are fantastic, cheap and their reliability puts the UK ones to shame. Even USB charging points and free wifi!? There is a Titsa employee outside arrivals to help you get the right bus during the day. Google maps is great too for making sure you get the right bus

The bus app is amazing.

There's going to be a new Indian restaurant in town, it's not quite finished yet, anyone seen it ? One has to 'look it up' 🙄 so to speak..? No doubt you'll visit it when you return..

I don't know how you manage to get cheap flights because I'm looking at either tenerife or lanzarote in either September or Oct and easyjet,Ryanair etc are coming in at around £600 to £700 for 2🙈I do love how your asking us where we think your going but anyone that knows has already seen you're in florida😂😂I think if you paid £60 each for the flight then you've saved a couple of hundred quid so probably still worth the hassle,bus yard is a bit different,🙂👍

Late is often quiet…bonus..and then sleep on the plane.

That waiting around for your luggage always takes ages 🤯 then you start panicking that yours won’t come on.

Last year we had to wait 3 hours for our luggage. It was terrible 😢

You can save more money by hiring a car from Sanasty and pick it up from the Airport when you land, that is what I do..and then save even more by returning it to the Airport on the way back, tbf, I’ve not tried that yet.

Occasional chaos at airports is becoming the new norm. I guess it’s the price we pay for cheap flights. Very often, when you save money, you pay in other ways.

Curious 😏… as I’ve got an old “RED” E.U. Passport should I joined the E.U. line or the non-E.U. Line ? 🤔

I 'm not a fan of Tenerife south airport anyway arriving in is terrible once landed then getting the case etc.. I can't do without Cabin/hand luggage case. This year I'm taking a separate shoulder bag to put other items into. As for food and drink there it's expensive. as your showing. A little tip for anyone get a case with the locks on the case itself better security.

Regarding the queue for the passport control with UK passport, we’ve waited for ages last year and I have an EU passport and my friend had a UK one and they were fast tracking the EU passport holders fast track even if you have someone with you who has a UK passport. Was it the same during your experience? I mean if you saw the EU passport holders going quicker?

did you still have to queue up get your passport stamped? even when it didn't needed to be stamped... Being both of you being residents, couldve you just show the residency cards and gone thru the eu channel. How does it all work?

You still have to queue, they check passport but dont stamp it when we show our resident card, but you still must queue

I believe easyJet do this so they can claim an on time departure by leaving the gate on time and taxing to a remote stand irrespective of the obvious delay this will have.

Oh No… can’t do that late a departure…must be me but I reverse engineer the return flight ,exit first… happy to pay for accommodation at the other side… Early got shot but security post Covid, started to walk through the “old” route, RED ALERT…. ..and how many times do the need to check your passport once you’ve airside ? 🧐🤔🥴
