Not Perfect, Still Great - 1 Year Review

I've used the f-stop AJNA DuraDiamond for a year and thankfully, it looks like I'll be able to get great use out of it for many more! There are some things I would like to see improved in future iterations, and I don't love the price, but this bag is highly weather resistant, durable, and customizable.

I noticed your Anja 37L DuraDiamond has a bottom zippered pocket...mine doesn't. I bought mine in the green color about a month ago. Could it be that the black has it but the green doesn't for some reason?

I just checked in with customer service, and it's been removed 😕 Since the first production run "the updated version of Ajna does not have the bottom pocket, the key chain in the top pocket, mesh pockets inside the side pockets and the colored compression straps." My guess is that their more adventure focused users might get this pretty wet, and it's a tough area to weather seal. On mine, that zipper isn't one of the rubberized weather resistant ones, but it's tucked behind a nice flap of the bottom material. I like how they approach the designs iteratively from feedback, but in this case, a feature that I really liked. Thanks for asking, gonna pin for others.

Hmm a bit disappointing. It's a feature my LowePro Rover Pro 45L AW had and I liked it quite a lot. It is what it is! Thank you getting to the bottom of it for me! I really appreciate it. Keep up the great video review work! @@DanYosua

What other bags/brands are you considering? This might be crazy, but I feel like I'd still love something in the ~25L range for the one camera/one lens walkabouts (and for storing my podcasting stuff).

Are there major differences between the 40 liter and 37 liter Ajna backpack? I sold my Atlas Athlete to get the Anja. Thanks.

I can't speak too much to the exact differences between generations. In the future I'd love to do that if I find them different enough to upgrade. That said, my Tilopa is the same gen as the 40L. Both materials I've found durable, but I do like the Duradiamond material and find I rarely use the rain cover because of it (I do break it out occasionally on the Tilopa, just in case). If you think you can skip that, I think you can find the previous Ajna gen bags for a steal.
