I identified myself with that. I know it’s 4 years after you commented, but that’s exactly how I felt during a great part of this quarantine/pandemic. Too much frustration, fright, and sin. But this song is a demonstration of the power of the Holy Spirit. We are not slaves anymore. God Bless Him for His work on the cross! We now can lay every burden down and fulfill the emptiness of our heart with incomprehensible Love! Jesus, you are enough.

God sent His only Son, Jesus, to this world to live a perfect life without sin in order for Him to be a perfect sacrifice. In the Old Testament, one would make a blood covenant with another saying that your enemies are my enemies and my friends are your friends vice Versa. They would take an animal like a lamb without blemish and cut it. Some cultures, they would give each other scars to show that they are in covenant. The penalty of breaking covenant is death. Jesus was beaten and bruised and whipped and ridiculed and humiliated. Then He carried His own cross up to the hill of Golgotha. Place of Skull. At that moment that Jesus was nailed to the cross and crucified, He carried the weight of the worlds sin (past, present, future) all in one point in time. This was a covenant. He was the bridge between The Father and us. Now we have the gift of having this amazing relationship with God. He has bought us with a price. The price was the suffering of Jesus Christ. We are His children.

He so wants to pour out His love and blessings to us. I believe this song is a declaration of making that commitment to God. Giving ourselves to Him! He has an amazing plan for us. We need to receive it and walk in it. His yoke is easy and His burden is light. He is wanting to trade it for your burdens. Trust God that He will take care of all your needs. The bass note is what a bass player would play in the song. This note is also what would be played with the left hand on the piano/keyboard.
