Every time I hear this, I'm brought back to the time I wanted to end it all and the Father lifted me up and healed my broken heart in the blink of an eye. He taught me some valuable lessons that day. He isn't who we've been told He is. His love is far greater, His light is far brighter. He created this earth and the heavens above. Glory to the Father YHWH The One who is and always will be!

Amen I too was going through depression and when I heard this song it literally erased whatever negative and depressing feeling I had all together and replaced it with not my understanding nor my feelings but the understanding that the Father IS and ALWAYS was.

This song always make me cry. God takes emptiness away and fills it with light...the solution to all of a man’s problems.

There are worship songs we can call them "Churchables" or can be sung in a Sunday service, there are others more personal that allow you to express in a deep way what you feel for the Lord and there are others like this, a combination of art and personal experience. I personally take this song into my prayer and devotional time, when I'm meditating about what God has done for me, through me and in me. He definitely took my emptiness away.

Praying for you, that Jesus will continue to be your rock to hold on to and your light in the darkness! May the Lord help you to take heart and see that He has overcome this world, and that He will see you through until the end. There is hope in our return to Him, and joy to be found even in the darkest parts of our long walk back. Please continue to hold on-- you are part of the family and body of Christ and the Lord put you here because we need you. I know the darkness of suicidal thoughts, and I promise you He can sustain you through whatever you are facing. Keep holding on, and keep asking those in the family of Jesus to pray for you and walk alongside you. You are not alone!!

This song is for those, who has been hurt by religion, for those who has expirienced darkness and doubts about God, themselves, meaning of it all..but Father's grace through fire has brought us out of this emtiness, ang gave us true love, true live, true expirience of Him. That's why many don't understand this song. It has heavenly sound in it, and only his true children can hear it. Blessings to brothers and sisters! ♥

Those illustrations are so perfect and moving. Combined with this song it speaks so deeply about depression and how God comes to us in that dark place and brings light. He is not afraid of our darkness, He comes to our rescue and meets us where we are. Thank you Father. This song is so amazing!

This song, while it may seem simple on the surface, is such a beautiful, deep, and thoughtful song. The pure thought of something or someone being able to simply SPEAK a word or phrase and darkness to LEAVE is mind-boggling. The verses also add such a depth to the song. The idea that we can sit down and wait for the Lord is calming, exhilarating, comforting and terrifying all at the same time. We can wait for God to speak into our darkness, and He may come, or He may not.. which is an intense thought. It really puts into perspective how much power God holds. Yet, for someone with such immense power as to push darkness away with the sound of His voice, He still takes the time to be with us each individually and reply to us with a "silent fire" (which, might I add, is an AMAZING lyric for the way we interact with the Lord). The idea that a God with that much influence and that much power could love us after everything we do is just... beautiful. This song is amazingly well-written and the music behind the lyrics is also great. Has a nice tribal/negro spiritual drive to it that sits very well with the way the song feels and acts. I love you guys and everything you stand for, United Pursuit. Thanks for this amazing video (also, super impressive that you can take a lyric video and tell such a good story with it).

I lost my daddy Nov 29th. We were very close, and it's been a hard, grieving time. Praying Jesus, the Lord of the Valley of the shadow, will lead us through with increasing strength and depth of intimacy with Him. May we know His comfort in the deepest places of our beings.

The emptiness is when we food our souls with our will. We are made to be in constant intimacy w our Maker. So we will always be filled. Being at the holy place everyday (praying, reading his word, worshipping him without anyone seeing), is the key to the heart of God. He wants us, he wants to take that emptiness.
