    I would highly recommend the Dragonfly 3P over the Dagger 2P for a true two person tent. It’s a palace with better features and at the same/lighter weight!

    yeah,I’m choosing the tents between dagger 2p (1.84kgs)and dragonfly 2p(1.41kgs) ,until someone told me that dragonfly has 3p types in 1.51kgs,it made me turn up a new way. My wife used to hiking with me in a width 1.2m pad instead of single pad 😂.So dragonfly 2p is not suit for us. I want to ask you for the space is enough and comfortable,right?

    @@user-jc8di7rk1f Compared to the Dragonfly/Dagger 2P, the Dragonfly 3P will feel significantly larger. It is slightly shorter than the Dagger 2P by ~5 cm, but it is 5 cm taller and much wider by 25-50 cm. As someone almost 2m tall, I would much rather have the Dragonfly 3P if I was going to sleep in the same tent with another person.

    I’m a little worried about the rain fly not covering the entire side on the head end. I currently have the dagger 2 but I’m looking at returning it for the dragonfly 3p. Do you know if the 3p dragonfly has enough room in the overhead pocket for an iPad? The dagger has no such pocket. Pictures online show the 2p dragonfly with a large pocket that can fit it. But the 3p dragonfly looks to have a smaller pocket… hard to tell.

    I have and really like the Dragonfly 2P. I bought it before the OSMO fabric was introduced. I'm usually using it solo, but it's certainly big enough for two adults considering both have vestibules. The internal storage really elevates it to another level.

    I’m looking at returning the dagger 2p for the dragonfly 3p for a few reasons. I think the extra space would be nice as I’m camping with my GF. The overhead pocket is nonexistent on the dagger. Looks like it may fit an iPad on the dragonfly but it also might be a bigger pocket on the 2p vs the 3p. It’s a larger tent that’s also a hair lighter.

    Good video. I am awaiting delivery of the Mayfly OSMO 2 person for bikepacking. I snagged it for $340. I looked hard at both the Dagger and the Dragonfly but opted for the savings. All of these tents are truly awesome and all are a good price compared to other lightweight tents. The OSMO fabric is what sold me. I know what nylon does when it gets wet. Hopefully the OSMO is a game changer in that regard. I subbed.

    I’m a massive fan of NEMO tents. I have had two iterations of the Dragonfly 2P. I’ve loved both. I adore the OSMO version of the Dragonfly, personally. I had a Big Agnes Copper Spur for a bit and the rain fly sags like crazy in any consistent rain. Ended up returning it. Also the nylon on the Big Agnes tears if you look at it too quickly. The Dragonfly OSMO is stout in wind and rain, spacious, durable, love the features and weight. For a freestanding 2P tent I personally think the Dragonfly 2P OSMO is currently the best on the market.

    Very well in your presentation 👏. My dilemma is between the Dragonfly 2p tent and the Dragonfly bikepack 1p tent. I am only needing a 1p tent for my solo recumbent trike touring. Packability is vitally important to save space and weight. Im leaning towards the Dragonfly bikepack 1p tent because of my needs. However, a little more room would be nice to bring in my panniers at night. However when trying to save as much packability space and weight as possible. Perhaps I should compromise on the comfy extra room. Your opinion is welcomed.

    My girlfriend and I tried the Dagger OSMO 2P. We felt it was a little tight with two 25" wide sleeping pads. We exchanged it for the REI Half Dome SL 2 Plus, and we found the extra 4" in width and more vertical walls in the head and foot ends was a better fit for us. The OSMO fabric is really amazing and I wish the Half Dome had something similar or came with a silpoly rain fly. I think the Durston X-Mid 2P would probably be my next choice if I had to do it again given my geological location. Side note, I purchased one of your Dark Sky packs and am looking forward to testing it out on a trip to Banff coming up. Cheers!

    When it really comes down to it, a 3 person sized tent will always be more comfy for 2 people. If you're splitting the weight anyway, it's a good way to maximize living space. I wasn't aware the Half Dome SL Plus had that amount of space. That's great! Enjoy the DARK SKY! Love that little pack!

  • @joker2100

    @joker2100

    @@BackcountryExposureThe Half Dome has just that little bit of extra space on the sides so your sleeping pads are not rubbing against the bathtub floor and the pole structure allows the inner tent walls to be more vertical in the corners. The weight between both tents is roughly the same and the Half Dome is a little more durable. I swapped the stuff sack that came with the stock Half Dome for a Sea to Summit 8L dry bag to efficiently pack away the tent. I love nerding out about gear choices.

    So, the Dragonfly is a shitty CopperSpur. The Dagger is even heavier and still cramped for two people. If you’re by yourself, get a Copperspur 2p. If you’re going with a partner, get a Copperspur 3p and split the tent and fly between yourselves to split the weight and have ample room, and the the only thing that nemo is still good at is their Tensor pad 😂😂

    Not sure I'd call it a shitty Copper Spur. The Dragonfly is impressive, and I'll take the weight penalty for the better fabric. :)
