(NOT AHSOKA!) The Clone Wars Ep 104-107 - Ahsoka arc REACTION/COMMENTARY!!

Ойын-сауық

This was the single most thrilling arc of the Clone Wars series! I was absolutely blown away by Ahsokas decision in the end. She has been my favorite character for a while. But this arc just showed how truly amazing she really is.

For a character that has only existed for 15 or 16 years, Ahsoka has had a huge impact on the entire franchise. I’m 50 and have been a SW fan since I was 8. Honestly I think Ahsoka is my favorite character. Great reaction, I look forward to seeing more.

Same here, and I am 52. I liked Ahsoka the moment she walked up to Anakin and Obi-Wan and called Anakin "Skyguy" in The Clone Wars movie. I used to be upset by all the negativity she got from the fans in the early seasons of the show. I am so happy Disney/Lucas are continuing her story in the live action materials.

@@PrakashThapaYeah me too and I'm not far behind you at 47. I'm not sure she's my favourite character, but she is just behind Obi-Wan (who is my fave character) in terms of Jedi for me. And her linking up everything now, almost like how R2 does, is great.

It was the Mortis arc, with the father, son and the daughter. She had a vision of her older/adult self saying in order to survive she needs to leave Anakin. Now the Jedi Council at this time were so clueless because Palpatine clouded the force so they couldn’t see or feel what was up.

This was all we got for a while before season 6 a few years later. Explains Ahsoka’s absence and we were left to the imagination. Because of the war’s death and destruction; the dark side of the force is actually clouding the Jedi’s ability to use the Force, thus their own hubris and eventual downfall as an Order. What a show. Started as a fun animation and is now the gritty war drama.

fun fact Barris' motivations in this arc has been muddled a few times in source materials. A book called "Star wars: the dark side" it claimed Barris did what she did because she was an agent of the Sith which is clearly not the case in the actual episodes. Likewise an officially licensed card claimed her change of heart was caused by a serum that "changed the force inside her" which Leland Chee, the guy who maintains lucasfilm's own internal continuity database, clarified is not true and that the card was not approved by him or his team.

Like with Krell, her descent comes a little too fast and is obviously a plot device to have Ahsoka leave. It would have been better to have another arc inbetween the last time we saw Barriss and this one, where she was Knighted, but is beginning to have doubts. Perhaps it was rushed through a bit as the sale of Lucasfilm to Disney was just about to happen so they were finishing up main plot points. The three endings we get of Clone Wars however, are equally poignant, so it worked out.

@@shugaroony I doubt it it has anything to do with the Disney purchase. Clone wars seasons were written and started being animated years in advanced to when they actually air. The reason we know so much of what they had planned is because they were already animating season 6 and 7 whilst season 5 for was airing. So the arc was always meant to be this way and wasn’t rushed through due to the oncoming Disney purchase

Extra bit of sadness, this is Ventress’s last appearance. In the show. Cancellation! 🤬 Her final arc was adapted into the novel Dark Disciple. You can read or listen to it. It’s pretty good Someone brought up a reason to not do Bad Batch before Rebels I hadn’t considered. It’s not finished yet and the final season is approaching. We don’t even have an exact date, just 2024. Lots of factors will make things complicated. _The Jedi Who Knew Too Much_ Not every clone knows Ahsoka. Rex is probably the only one there who does. Thinking about it, being the prison guards, they may not even have much interaction with many jedi beyond them bringin in prisoners, _maybe._ It’s just not stacked in her favor. _To Catch a Jedi_ In fairness to the council, Dooku, one of their best, trained by Yoda, and still considered a friend after he left the order, not only became an enemy, but a sith lord. And they doubted the possibility of his turn until it was undeniable. Mace said it wasn’t in his character to assassinate someone! And then Krell, someone who achieved the rank of master, and was still _in_ the order also turned, even hoping to become Dooku’s apprentice. I think they decided it’s not the best idea to be too lenient on possible turncoats. Especially with stacking evidence against them. A rewatch of the movies would be good. Actually, a rewatch of Revenge of the Sith before the finale arc of Clone Wars would be really good _The Wrong Jedi_ Unfortunately there’s more members on the council not as familiar with Ahsoka. 12 members and only 3, maybe 4 who would be more trusting, and maybe only 2 who would full vouch for her. Barris and Tarkin definitely weren’t working togther. Tarkin was surprised. Not overly so, but he was. Barris’s words about the jedi are confirmed true, but I would think the exception would be the jedi being responsible for the war. They’re pawns in a grand scheme they have no way of knowing the full scope of that was planned out before even the Separatists formed. At best, and reaching a bit, they’re culpable/accesories.

It's funny hearing the jedi talking about how the dark side clouds their minds, but they can't see happening with them, hubris is a mighty thing. Ahsoka made the right decision leaving, she was completely alone the whole, fingers pointed at her, with almost no support, It's too hurtful to feel this helplessness from someone you dedicated your life to.

18:20 I think what you meant to say is 'It's beginning to look a lot like the Empire'. 26:12 The voice acting is so good between Matt Lanter and Ashley Eckstein in this scene. 35:33 Yeah, no she can't. 😬 43:51 ding ding ding. 57:44 It's not necessarily canon but it's my personal belief that when Yoda says, "though not in total agreement are we" that Obi-Wan, Yoda and Plo Koon all voted against expelling Ahsoka from the Jedi Order but were outvoted by Mace Windu, Ki-Adi-Mundi, Saesee Tiin and other council members. 1:00:17 You can really see how this helps with Anakin's turn against the Jedi and why he doesn't trust the council in Revenge of the Sith. 1:04:02 Actually one of my favourite Star Wars fights. Especially when Anakin pulls out the second saber and they're both dual-wielding. 1:05:47 Um, no. Barriss was working independently of anyone. 1:07:40 😢😭 1:09:05 And of course Ahsoka knows about Anakin and Padme. She's so close to both of them.

Yoda is being very strategic, sending Anakin and Plo who are both emotionally tied to Ahsoka was no accident, in his gut he knows she is innocent but gut feelings don't amount to much in court, he is hoping they will be able to find enough to exonerate her, and he also knows neither of them would hurt her. It would also be important to remember that she would be far from the first jedi to switch sides in this war, some with good intentions some with not so good ones. We know the truth but the Jedi only know what they see, and Ahsoka looks very very guilty she was the only one in the room when the only witness died, she violently escaped from questioning, she was found with known Separatist assassin/infiltrator/saboteur Asajj Ventress and resited arrest while injuring many clone troopers, and finally she was found in possession of even more of the same explosives, any prosecutor would say its a open and shut case, and the Jedi have been very explicit for a while now that they can no longer sense the truth through the force.

@Imon_Snow While the ending is sad, seeing these people we love have to separate, it’s also a relief. I remember listening to Ashley Eckstein, the voice of Ahsoka Tano, talk about how many messages she received from fans after that episode. A lot of them were from people who thought about committing suicide until they saw this episode. Watching Ahsoka choosing to form her own and leaving the situation she was inspired others. In that way, this ending is more beautiful than tragic. Beautiful reaction/discussion. I was holding in tears myself. I will forever have Star Wars and Ahsoka to thank for me being alive today.

TO CATCH A JEDI: Ahsoka tries to prove her innocence with the help of an unexpected ally. This episode is named after another Alfred Hitchcock classic, "To Catch a Thief", which Hitch made in 1955 with Cary Grant and Grace Kelly. The movie is about a retired jewel thief living on the French Riviera who must stop an impostor whose activities are placing him under suspicion. In the episode, someone poses as Ventress. Admiral TARKIN formally accuses Ahsoka of murder before the Jedi Council. ANAKIN SKYWALKER and PLO KOON are dispatched to locate her in the undercity despite strong reservations from MACE WINDU about Anakin's objectivity. The DRUNK GOTAL Ahsoka trades with for the cloak is voiced by DAVE FILONI himself! Lol. Ahsoka contacts BARRISS OFFEE who promises to investigate topside. MEREDITH SALENGER from "The Journey of Natty Gann", "April Morning" and "The Kiss" again voices Barriss. Cool SUBWAY CHASE! Every urban thriller must have one! RUNAWAY TURBOLIFT! Fortunately for Ahsoka, the little Twi'lek boy is an experienced passenger. The RETURN of ASAJJ VENTRESS last seen fighting Maul and Savage at Obi-Wan's side in "Revenge" (Season 4, Episode 22). ASAJJ is after the BOUNTY and is NOT COMPLICIT in the plot. Ahsoka offers a FULL PARDON instead for some assistance. ANAKIN sees the two together in utter disbelief! Ahsoka contacts BARRISS OFFEE again who comes through with a lead! Gee, it's nice to have friends.... The RETURN of Commander WOLLFE after last being featured in "Nomad Droids" (Season 4, Episode 6). VENTRESS and AHSOKA clobber the Commander and a squad of clones being careful not to do any permanent damage! VENTRESS fulfills her part of the deal and escorts Ahsoka to Barriss' lead, an abandoned munitions factory. The two women BOND over BETRAYAL and take leave of each other. VENTRESS gets startled by a TOOKA but then gets BLUDGEONED! VENTRESS' LIGHTSABERS and HELMET are stolen by a hooded figure. The INTRODUCTION of the TOOKA CAT. The HAYAO MIYAZAKI-inspired critter is named after Dave Filoni's cat, TUUK, and has appeared frequently in animation and even live-action since this episode. DOWN-AND-DIRTY SCRAP between Ahsoka and the hooded figure masquerading as Ventress! AHSOKA drops into a room stacked with crates of nano-droid explosives! WOLLFE silences Ahsoka's protest of innocence with a stun shot! ANAKIN, REX and PLO KOON take a captive Ahsoka back to the Temple in troubled silence. THE WRONG JEDI: The truth of the Temple bombing is revealed and Ahsoka makes a fateful decision! This episode is named after the Alfred Hitchcock docudrama, "The Wrong Man", which Hitch made in 1956 with Henry Fonda and Vera Miles. The movie is about a musician wrongfully accused of murder who looks guiltier the more he tries to prove his innocence. The plot is based on a real incident that occurred in Queens, NY in 1953. TARKIN urges the Jedi Council on behalf of the Senate to expel Ahsoka for more impartial military judgment! OBI-WAN objects but MACE WINDU agrees! WINDU's preoccupation is public perception of the Order placing itself ABOVE THE LAW and their philosophy of detachment is in keeping with placing THE NEEDS OF THE MANY OVER THE NEEDS OF THE ONE. YODA expels Ahsoka in the CHAMBER OF JUDGMENT but the decision is NOT UNANIMOUS. AHSOKA's Padawan BRAID gets snipped! ANAKIN is beside himself and seeks out the only lead: VENTRESS! Unarmed VENTRESS vs. lightsaber-wielding ANAKIN in a DARK SIDE RAGE! ANAKIN is taken aback when her invective against 'his precious Jedi Order' matches his own! VENTRESS provides a new lead: BARRISS OFFEE! ASAJJ VENTRESS' story continues in the pages of Christie Golden's novel, "DARK DISCIPLE", based on eight unproduced screenplays by Katie Lucas which take place after the Yoda Arc of Season 6. Although originally a Dark Horse comics creation based off of conceptual artist DERMOT POWER's "Attack of the Clones" sketches, writer KATIE LUCAS and actress NIKA FUTTERMAN shaped one of the best and most complex characters of the series! Her continuing story needs to see the light of day either in animated or live-action form. TARKIN serves as prosecutor, PADME serves as defense, the SENATE serves as the jury and PALPATINE serves as the judge. This is TIM CURRY's first appearance as Supreme Chancellor SHEEV PALPATINE. The recognizable SENATORS on the jury include: -- BAIL ORGANA of Alderaan -- MON MOTHMA of Chandrila -- RIYO CHUCHI of Pantora -- KIN ROBB of Taris -- AANG of Roona -- MOT-NOT RAB of Tarn -- ZINN PAULNESS The PENALTY for a guilty verdict of sedition is DEATH! COURTROOM DRAMA! Padme vs. Tarkin! TEMPLE DUEL! Anakin vs. Barriss! The INAUGURAL USE of YELLOW LIGHTSABER PIKES by the Jedi Temple Guard! The RETURN of the YOUNGLINGS last seen in "A Necessary Bond" earlier this season! Human PETRO, Tholothian KATOONI, Ithorian BYPH, Nautolan ZATT, Rodian GANODI and Wookiee GUNGI are seen in the courtyard at lightsaber practice with their instructor Cosian Master TERA SINUBE making his third appearance in this arc! A LAST-MINUTE REPRIEVE! Anakin brings forth Barriss Offee to exonerate Ahsoka. THE SPEECH OF BARRISS OFFEE is 100% TRUTH! The Jedi are blind servants of a corrupt Republic in a manufactured war that has compromised the principles of the Order and fed the Dark Side of the Force! COLLAPSE IS IMMINENT! However, like CASSANDRA of Greek myth, her prediction of doom falls on DEAF EARS. Or does it? There is SOMEONE in the room upon whom her words have a great impact! However, that is a story for another time... MEREDITH SALENGER of "The Journey of Natty Gann", "April Morning" and "The Kiss" again voices Barriss Offee. The Council APOLOGIZES claiming that Ahsoka has passed a great TRIAL OF SPIRIT which will make her a better Jedi than before. You can almost smell the KNIGHTHOOD they're dangling before her! Anakin offers her the Padawn braid which was snipped. She closes his palm and rejects the apology! Deeply wounded and filled with doubts, she LEAVES THE ORDER! YODA is clearly crestfallen by her disillusionment but the damage has already been done. Distraught ANAKIN begs her to stay and admits his own desire to walk away to which Ahsoka replies, "I KNOW". Anakin is stunned she knows his secret! AHSOKA departs to find a NEW PATH forward and the screen FADES TO BLACK amid the melancholy strains of "AHSOKA'S THEME". This is the EMOTIONAL HIGH POINT of the series. Everything has built up to this. Originally, this gut-wrenching ending was the SERIES FINALE! There was nothing to assuage the viewer until "THE LOST MISSIONS" came out a year later in which Anakin and Obi-Wan have a discussion about the Council's decision during the UTAPAU ARC ANIMATICS. Some have theorized that the Geonosian worm infestation Barriss experienced in "BRAIN INVADERS" (Season 2, Episode 8) scarred her more deeply than anyone realized exacerbating her doubts by freeing her from the stringent indoctrination of her by-the-book Master Luminara Unduli. She already had misgivings about the role of the Jedi in the war and expressed them to Ahsoka in that episode. The worm rattled something loose either physiologically or psychologically pushing her over the edge. It's a sound theory which I like. ANAKIN now has a major grievance against the Order and is one step closer to his fate.

Mace Windu was gaslighting Ahsoka so much at the end, he's more concerned about politics and playing 'the game' than anything else that he would sacrifice Ahsoka rather than risk their standing in the senate. Yoda is very apathetic, he stands back to see how things will spin out with the excuse of letting the force guide them but i think at the end of this episode he was starting to wake up a little from his complacency but it was too late.

1 of my favorite parts about this arc is that despite how horrible the council is to Ahsoka in these episodes that was the only real option available to them because there was 0 evidence other than faith and trust in her that she was innocent and if they tried to help her they would be considered traitors and with how little people trust the Jedi at this point it probably wouldnt be just the council that would be labeled traitors it would be the entire Jedi Order so it was either her or the entire order

There's some noteworthy things here. 1 is that this causes a hate for Tarkin by Vader that carries over to the empire era. 2 is that Vader remembers that moment with Fox and its part of the reason he snaps his neck later. 3 is Palpatine had no hand in this but it was the perfect opportunity to isolate Anakin one person at a time until he had no one left but him. And 4 is that Barriss was 100% right in her case though wrong in how she went about it. Reasons like that are also what pushed Count Dooku to walk away when he was still a jedi

The final scene to me is the best out of all seven seasons. You have Ahsoka, who despite having an unknown future, is walking into the light knowing that what she is doing is right. Anakin, however, is slowly enveloped by the shadows of not only by the teaching and ruling of the Jedi temple failing him again, but by the dark side slowly enveloping him as well. Clone Wars was cancelled after this but Netflix would bring it back for sixth season called the lost missions including canon comics and I'm not kidding we had to six years for seventh and final season all thanks to fans asking for years Lucasfilm announced we were finally getting it and spin off series Bad Batch. In case you are wondering what Ahsoka meant she knew about what Anakin was talking about him wanting to walk way from the Jedi order. Ahsoka knew about Anakin and Padme relationship check out Star Wars Forces of Destiny Season 2 Ep 2 you'll see how she knew in case you are interested. This arc sets up one of the reasons why Anakin turned to dark side because of what happened to Ahsoka and how the council treated her.

It's worth noting that for thousands of years, the Jedi were the antidote to "fascism." They were a group of roughly 10,000 in a republic of trillions that allowed for the government to have very little military presence. And because they were a spiritual group that was connected to force (through the light), they (overwhelmingly) made just and wise decisions. This takes place at a time when the Jedi were too satisfied with having knowledge of "Jedi-ness" and not the wisdom that can be experienced by connecting with the "living force" as Qui-gon talked about. It made them ripe for manipulation by a Sith with talents like Palpatine.

The end of an era! Yoda wanted Anankin to have a padawan so that he could learn to let go when the time came for the padawan to graduate. This was perhaps the worst outcome for Anakin having Ahsoka be expelled and refusing to come back. If you remember in Revenge of the Sith, Anakin was granted a council seat but not the rank of master. You become a Master when your Padawan graduates to Knight. This hurt Anakin even more since everyone knew Ahsoka would have passed the trials with flying colors if she hadnt left the order, which Anakin blames the council for. Even though everyone knew Ahsoka would pass they still didnt let Anakin become a master because technically Ahsoka never passed--she was expelled. This was just one more nail in the coffin for Anakin's betrayal of the jedi order, and surprisingly Palpatine actually wasnt behind this one. This situation stuck in the minds of Obi Wan and Yoda. You can see how it affects them as the series goes on. If you remember, Yoda said the council was not in total agreement to expel Ahsoka. They still felt guilty though later on, and when you consider that not one jedi actually apologized to Ahsoka at the end except Anakin, they have a right to feel some guilt. I cant wait for the next arc which is one of my favorites. I hope you werent expecting a lighthearted story as an emotional break after this one because unfortunately you wont get one for a little while :)

should be noted this is the first episode to feature the jedi using the Eta-2 Actis-class light interceptor that they use in Revenge of the Sith as their ships rather than the Delta-7 Aethersprite-class light interceptor they use in attack of the clones. This is meant to be subtle indicator we're nearing the end of the clone wars. Likewise in general the republic has a much more empire esque aesthetic than previous seasons. another fun thing is Every episode in this arc is named after Alfred Hitchcock films. Sabotage - sabotage (1936) the jedi who knew too much - the man who knew too much (1934) to catch a jedi - to catch a thief (1955) the wrong jedi - the wrong man (1956)

I always liked Barriss, so her betrayal really stings, but while her actions were undeniably wrong, you cant really argue with her motivations. She saw that the Jedi were falling from grace, acting as soldiers for The Republic instead of guardians of peace and justice for the Galaxy. I think Ahsoka recognises this truth in the end, but the real reason she walks away from the Jedi Order is because they didn't give her a shred of support until her own innocence has been proven. Even Anakin, who tried to come and see her in prison, didnt actually manage to do so. The council all turned on her, only to turn back around and claim "Ah, you see?! This was all just a trial to make you a better Jedi! Never mind that we were willing to abandon you! Let this whole disaster slide and you can be a knight!" And Ahsoka knows that's a load of nonsense, so she knows she can't stay, even if it means leaving Anakin behind. She knows Anakin understands wanting to leave, because she knows about him and Padme and has for some time, but that doesn't change that he wasn't able to prevent the Council from trying to exhile her. The use of Tarkin as the one pushing for Ahsoka's punishment works really well as a way of showing the attitude shifts in the Republic that lead to it transitioning to the Empire. All as planned by Palpatine behind the scenes of course. While Barriss acted alone and was not a part of his plans, Palpatine was able to spin it to his advantage and make the Republic, who were already turning against the Jedi due to their role in the prolonged war, lose even more trust in the Jedi. Also, Commander Fox, captain of the Clone Shock Troopers in the Coruscant guard, is the absolute worst. He answers directly to Palpatine rather than a Jedi general, which is why the guards wouldn't let Anakin in to see Ahsoka. The building you called out for it's grim, fascist architecture is the Grand Army of the Republic Military Base. The only part of the building I like is the brown stone wall in the centre, which is a memorial to the Clones who died in the Battle of Geonosis. The guys who remind you of Moon Knight are Jedi Temple Guards. It's a rotating duty that many Jedi go through for a short time, and the robes, masks, and yellow sabers come with the job. Sadly this is the last we see of Ventress in the show (you'll have to read Dark Disciple if you want more of her), but I love the scene where Anakin duels and interrogates her. You can see he's starting to lose his grip on the light, and sadly, Ahsoka leaving is only going to loosen that grip more, and turn him further against the Order. Right into the waiting arms of Darth Sidious. There was an unreleased arc of this show, the "Crystal Crisis on Utapau Arc," featuring a scene in which Obi-Wan and Anakin talk about the emotional fallout from Ahsoka leaving. The scene has since been finished by fans from the storyboards and half-complete official animation, and I do recommend checking it out if you can find it on youtube! And now, Ahsoka must soldier onwards, alone. One last thing to notice though... as Ahsoka walks away from Anakin, she's heading into the distance with a bright sky ahead of her, while the courtyard entrance to the Jedi Temple into which Anakin will return is cast with shadows.

SABOTAGE: A bombing at the Jedi Temple prompts an episode of "CSI: Coruscant"! The episode is named after the classic 1936 film "Sabotage" directed by Alfred Hitchcock starring Sylvia Sidney, Oskar Homolka and John Loder. Based on Joseph Conrad's "The Secret Agent", Hitch's film is about a saboteur tasked with a bombing in London whose oblivious wife begins to suspect something is amiss with hubby. The episode flips the script and makes the wife the saboteur. The opening battle is on CATO NEIMOIDIA, homeworld of the Neimoidians of the Trade Federation. I like how their BRIDGE-CITIES are suspended between cloud-capped pinnacles. The Jedi INTERCEPTOR is introduced in this episode making this the earliest chronological appearance of the vehicle. We see Anakin and Obi-Wan piloting them at the Battle of Coruscant in "Revenge of the Sith". The RUSSO-ISC forensic droid is named after David Caruso of "CSI: Miami". His verbal cadence and the manner in which he punctuates his statements by lifting or lowering his visor was an affectionate homage to the speech and behavior of the actor. DEE BRADLEY BAKER, who voices the clones, portrayed Russo-ISC. The eyewitness in triage was a PANTORAN. He identifies Jackar Bowmani, a one-eyed ABYSSIN, as being near the site of the explosion. The PROTESTS against Jedi have lurked in the background of the series such as when Jedi themselves dissent, Admirals question Jedi military competence, Separatists like Lux express mistrust or Palpatine's jumbotron addresses during "Lightsaber Lost" (Season 2, Episode 11) feign support for the Jedi while calling attention to their increasing unpopularity. Human Master CIN DRALLIG, the head of Temple Security, was modeled on Nick Gillard, the stunt coordinator and sword master. He appeared in live-action in "Revenge of the Sith" as a holographic recording viewed by Obi-Wan which showed him defending the Temple against Anakin during Order 66. The INTRODUCTION of LETTA TURMOND, the seemingly distraught wife of Jackar Bowmani seeking word of her missing husband. When Anakin interrogates Letta Turmond, BARRISS OFFEE passes by the room before the door shuts. Hmmmm. The HOLOGRAPHIC RECREATION of the explosion which the investigators could walk through is exactly how Tony Stark analyzes an explosion in "Iron Man 3". The episode and movie both were released by Disney in 2013. Coincidence, synergy or homage? Things don't look good for Bowmani. He's a munitions expert specializing in NANOTECH which litters the debris! Bowmani's hand is recovered. The nanites were in his bloodstream! He was a LIVING BOMB! A search of Bowmani's home reveals nanites in the garbage disposal. He INGESTED the explosives! LETTA arrives and makes a run for it aboard a GONDOLA! Upon capture, Letta slips up admitting her husband is dead which IMPLICATES HER as his murderer. We get a FLASH OF DARK SIDE TEMPERAMENT from Anakin! The ANTI-CLONE literature in her home attests to her opposition to the war but what motivated Letta's extremism and cold-blooded MARITICIDE? Her indignation that the STRINGENT SCREENING PROCESS her husband was subjected to didn't merit consideration of his innocence and the SHABBY LIVING CONDITIONS that were accorded to the Jedi's most devoted might have something to do with it. As Russo-ISC makes his final report, Cosian Master TERA SINUBE walks past. He hasn't been seen since he contributed BZ to D-Squad in "Secret Weapons" earlier this season. ANAKIN's closing words about there always being JEDI WHO WILL DISAPPOINT prove to be prophetic for both this arc and his future. THE JEDI WHO KNEW TOO MUCH: Ahsoka is accused of killing the prime suspect of the Temple bombing in custody and goes on the run. The episode is named after another Alfred Hitchcock classic, "The Man Who Knew Too Much", which Hitch made twice in 1934 with Leslie Banks and Peter Lorre as well as in 1956 with Jimmy Stewart and Doris Day. The movie is about a vacationing family whose child is abducted to coerce their silence after they inadvertently become aware of an assassination plot. The episode alters the plot by implicating the innocent party of the assassination in order to silence them. The ATTENDEES of the Temple bombing FUNERAL include: Supreme Chancellor SHEEV PALPATINE Speaker MAS AMEDDA Senators BAIL ORGANA, MON MOTHMA Admirals WULLF YULAREN, WILHUFF TARKIN, BARTON COBURN Grand Master YODA Human Masters MACE WINDU, OBI-WAN KENOBI Cerean Master KI-ADI-MUNDI Kel Dor Master PLO KOON Zabrak Master EETH KOTH Nautolan Master KIT FISTO Iktotchi Master SAESEE TIIN Togruta Master SHAAK TI Cosian Master TERA SINUBE Mon Calamari Master EEKAR OKI Weequay Master SORA BULQ Human Knight ANAKIN SKYWALKER Togruta Padawan AHSOKA TANO Mirialan Padawan BARRISS OFFEE The RETURN of Admiral WILHUFF TARKIN last seen at the strategy conference at 'Valor' space station in "Point of No Return" earlier this season. His argument with Ahsoka reveals a growing divide between the military and the Jedi but, as Jedi involvement has been ruled out, he is justified remanding the prime suspect, LETTA TURMOND, to military custody. I like the moment between TARKIN and ANAKIN speaking familiarly in the elevator. The RETURN of BARRISS OFFEE last seen in the background of the previous episode and piloting a starfighter over Umbara in "Darkness on Umbara" (Season 4, Episode 7). The discussion between the two Padawans reveals Barriss is also struggling with emotional control and foreshadows so much of what comes. MEREDITH SALENGER from "The Journey of Natty Gann", "April Morning" and "The Kiss" again voices BARRISS OFFEE. As Ahsoka arrives at the MILITARY GARRISON, its imposing impregnability and gray utilitarian decor are eerily reminiscent of IMPERIAL DESIGN ELEMENTS. We are witnessing the REPUBLIC TRANSITIONING INTO THE EMPIRE before everyone's eyes! The strains of the IMPERIAL MARCH are heard to emphasize the point! The DEATH of LETTA TURMOND! She implicates a Jedi, reveals she was instructed to contact Ahsoka and is Force-choked before she can identify her partner in crime! One is left to wonder if Letta's resentments about the war, the Jedi and her economic status were enough for her to VOLUNTARILY murder her husband or if her Jedi conspirator pushed her over the edge by MENTALLY MANIPULATING her. When TARKIN presents Ahsoka with the DAMNING SECURITY FOOTAGE, there's actually little reason for him to believe her after her vengeful diatribe earlier in the day and the fact that she murdered the Citadel's warden, OSI SOBECK, right in front of him in Season 3. The evidence is seemingly irrefutable and his experience with her has shown a willingness to kill. Someone less authoritarian would take into consideration that he owed her his life but Tarkin is a cold b@st@rd who takes pleasure in dominating others. TARKIN asserts an almost sexual dominance when he squeezes Ahsoka's chin puckering her lips in much the same way he does to Leia in "A New Hope". Both women recoil from his touch. I have a sneaking suspicion that Tarkin is IMPOTENT becoming aroused only by POWER. When ANAKIN is refused entry to the detention center by Commander Fox, you can see some familiar prisoners of note on the video screens in the control room including General WHORM LOATHSOM from the "Clone Wars" movie, Techno Union Emir WAT TAMBOR from the Ryloth Trilogy of Season 1 and Geonosian Archduke POGGLE THE LESSER from the Geonosis Arc of Season 2! REX doesn't believe Ahsoka murdered the slain clones but reports that she did to alert his brothers to the danger of the situation. After all, someone killed those clones. GRIZZER, the animal with the clone, is a MASSIFF. They are reptilian quadrupeds found on arid and desert worlds often domesticated like dogs by local inhabitants such as the Tusken Raiders of Tatooine. The slab of stone Ahsoka races on top of is a hunk of rock from Geonosis that serves as a WAR MEMORIAL on which are inscribed the serial numbers of all the clones lost in the inaugural battle of the Clone Wars! The RETURN of ODDBALL, the clone pilot, last seen in "Darkness on Umbara" (Season 4, Episode 7). The FLIGHT OF AHSOKA is a thrilling sequence that not only foreshadows Order 66 but feels like a set piece from the Classic Trilogy with stormtrooper-like figures pursuing a rebel agent. The circular stun blasts, the searchlights, the lightsabers' glow, the driving rain and the viaduct labyrinth create an evocative scene! The chase through the pipe maze is an homage to the famous VIENNESE SEWER CHASE from the climax of Carol Reed's 1949 "THE THIRD MAN" starring Orson Welles and Joseph Cotten. Ahsoka's leap from the pipe mouth into the undercity shaft is an homage to the famous LEAP FROM THE DAM OUTFLOW PIPE in Andrew Davis' 1993 "THE FUGITIVE" starring Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones. ANAKIN and REX are in Ahsoka's corner but she's looking guiltier by the minute!

All these years later, I still get a stab to my heart every time I hear Anakin say, "I would never let anyone hurt you, Ashoka. Never!" at 26:24 . And Ahsoka saying, "I have to sort this out on my own without the council. And without you." at 1:08:49. And I get irrationally irked every time Mace Windu opens his mouth to say something arrogant, aloof, and/or downright stupid. "This was your great trial." Seriously?!?! Not even an apology? Ahsoka outgrew the Jedi Order. Dooku, Krell, Barris, and Anakin were all correct that the Jedi's rigid position made them extremely dogmatic and that their political interests caused them to lose sight of what the Jedi were supposed to be focused on, which is the needs of the common people. The difference with Ahsoka is that she didn't completely turn to the Dark Side when she discovered the Order's hypocrisy. She just walked away. That's SO much more brave and mature than what Dooku, Krell, Barris, and Anakin did, turning to the Dark Side. But outgrowing the Jedi Order also meant she outgrew Anakin, which is devastating, but sometimes growth is painful. I also love that it provides an interesting addition to Anakin's character. He may have seriously screwed up his own life by becoming Darth Vader, but as a teacher, he was extremely successful. Obi-Wan and Luminara were much more traditional teachers, and look how THEIR padawans turned out. Anakin recognized his shortcomings as a mentor, so he encouraged Ahsoka to take lessons from other people around her, not just Jedi, including Padme because Padme was in a much better position to teach her about politics than Anakin. The result is that Ahsoka is arguably the most well-rounded and best-educated character in the entire Star Wars universe.

So when the show ended on Cartoon Network which was where the show originally aired on before the disney buyout no one one knew if this show was gonna return since we all assumed the show was done for after the Disney buyout which is what led to its cancellation. As we adapt, so too will the laws in a healthy republic, The key is to continuously check our banks,,,our senators and presidents, our churches and ministries. Problem with this is, Palpatine has the Jedi Order in a checkmate since the beginning of the war, they are in a lose-lose scenario, and Palpatine is convincing everyone (and I mean everyone, the viewers also) that they are the ones at fault for the Clone Wars, when it all comes down to him. Palpatine won as soon as the Clone War began, no matter what the Jedi would have done from that point onwards, its damned if they do, damned if they don`t.

And completely under stand why she left as if she stayed it would of just held her back as she was right by her saying she couldn’t trust her self as every mission or situation she had would be questioning herself on every decision, as she would be afraid that if anything went wrong, she would be blamed for it so therefore she would hold back and not put her all into it

Ah Nerd Chronic editing. He does Kyle Katarn's edits too. Sweet, he's a pretty sensitive editor which I like, who doesn't overly cut off things unneccessarily. I don't mind that list you have to watch yet, but please do Rebels before Bad Batch, even though chronologically it makes more sense to do the latter. There are specific reasons to do so that I can't explain yet. Aside from that, that seems a sound plan Imon. "there are going to be Jedi who disappoint us Ahsoka" - pot, kettle Ani!! Lol I know what you mean about the decor of the building where the clones are based on Coruscant, but it is also a holding place for errant people, so isn't going to have fluffy cushions strewn around! :P The Coruscant Guard haven't served with Ahsoka so don't know her, and with the current evidence lined up against her, she is an escaping prisoner. We know her innocence, but they don't. The Council are blinded by the ensuing darkside, its never been stronger. What I will say about them in the third episode however is that they merely want Ahsoka back to question her, its not a manhunt on their part - even though it seems like it! How they treat her once Ahsoka returns however, I cannot defend. Those final scenes are so full of emotion, no matter how many times you watch them. Ahsoka makes the hard but necessary choice to walk away, when Anakin couldn't. She would have been Knighted as well, but what does that even mean at this time when the likes of Barriss and Anakin are Knights, both who fell so far? I love Kevin Kiner's score at the end scene, he uses John Williams Force Theme, but its played in a melancholic way, suggesting that the Council are that clouded now, that they can't see one of their brightest young lights in the Order, is innocent, and that the light they once had themselves, is fading as the darkside rises to power.

For me, this arc is the most important in The Clone Wars, because it helps correct the ease with which Anakin falls to the dark side in Episode 3. Reading the events of these episodes, we understand that the real cause of Anakin's shift to the dark side took place specifically here. It wasn't just the fear of losing Padmé that sent Anakin spiraling in Episode 3. Because this arc is that of the total breakdown of trust between Anakin and the Jedi council. The council was so wrong on the Ahsoka Case. The value that Anakin holds most in esteem is loyalty, he will never forgive the council for betraying Ahsoka. With Anakin's psychology, disloyalty is an unforgivable flaw. Reading these events, we understand all the distance, distrust and anger that Anakin has developed towards the Jedi Council, and why it will be so easy for Palpatine to turn Anakin against them. Anakin's anger will slowly fester, and we even come to understand some of his attitudes towards the council in episode 3, especially when it asks him to spy on Palpatine. Anakin sees Palpatine as a father figure, and the council will ask him to betray him, like they betrayed Ahsoka. These are the real reasons for Anakin's change: The fear of losing Padmé was only the straw that made a well-filled vase overflow. Likewise, when we watch the first episodes of The Clone Wars and the last ones, we realize how Anakin flourished in the war, but also how it developed his anger ever more. Ahsoka once said, speaking of her master, "I don't think peace is in his deep nature." She was right. This arc is the most important, because it is the pivot of Anakin AND Ahsoka. This arc corrects the major error of episode 3: It makes us understand why Anakin switched so easily to the dark side. For me, Darth Vader was truly born during this episode. After Ahsoka left, the countdown to Darth Vader's arrival was on. During the very first episode of TCW where Anakin became Ahsoka's master, Yoda said to Obi Wan: "Ready to train an apprentice Anakin is, separating from his Padawan, a greater challenge it will be." Premonitory words...

Why is everyone so sure that Mace voted against Ahsoka? It's not in his nature, even if you forget about the Legends (although not that he was well revealed outside of them) - remember the Tenth Brother. Yes, his attitude was initially worse here because of the specifics of the case, the Tenth brother tried to kill only Mace himself, but not that much worse. Although, it is necessary to clarify the chronology, perhaps it was Mace convinced the Council to spare the Tenth Brother precisely because he felt guilty after what happened to Ahsoka.

Btw, after this season this show was cancelled by Disney taking over Star Wars. Therefore we didn't see what happens with Ventress, Maul and Palpatine, Anakin's grief regarding Ahsoka leaving the order and 7 other missing aka still unfinished CW story arcs.

Barriss is a very misunderstood character, so here are a few facts and a brief analysis: Barriss acted independently, using both the dark and light sides and was very unstable. (Filoni has plans for her) Her plan: -Destroy the hangar, probably not intending to kill anyone (Tutso, who was bomb, might have been terminally ill and wanted to sacrifice himself). -Hope for a positive change in the Jedi Order. -If not, leave the Order with Ahsoka. What she did is crucial. She was in shock and fear, and during the conversation with Ahsoka, she discouraged her from investigating. "The evidence seems clear, Ahsoka. Nothing will ever change." (Stay away from this; I have to end what I started.) The moment of Letta's death is also important. Just when she was about to reveal the truth, Barriss killed her. This is because Ahsoka approached it very personally, and Barriss didn't trust her friend because she was afraid. We're not talking about mastermind, but improvisation. The Council faces the greatest test: to change and not listen to the Republic, or betray Ahsoka because the Republic wants it. (Barriss completely won this moment.) The fact that she didn't get rid of the lightsabers Ventress suggests that Barriss probably intended to use them, perhaps to frame Ventress or directly save Ahsoka. If she had saved Ahsoka, Tano would have had no other option but to leave the Order, and Barriss would have left with her.

I'll be honest, it's mind boggling and impossible to defend the jedi council through this arc on their decisions, they literally abandoned Ahsoka to be sentenced to death. Once again having blood on their hands just as they have Qui Gon's blood on their hands because they didn't believe him when he said a sith lord has returned

at the time it was a good thing that she was expelled because it gave us hope that she would survive order 66 by not being a Jedi... this is actually the last episode of the clone wars, and then Netflix got season six as an exclusive, and then star wars rebels aired and got its few seasons.. and ended in 2018, then in 2020 when you got season, seven of the clone wars, which finally gave us closure... there's another show called tales of the Jedi that fills in a lot of things and we're getting a season two

The mortis gods simply represent the pendulum between good and evil. It swings constantly. But now and then an unstoppable force influences swing, makes the pendulum swing longer in one shade than the other. That being anakins saga being towards darkness and the jedi orders ignorance blinded by the light. Which us why you hear 'bring balance ti the force' allot. Cause thats whats needed to prevent chaos.

I posted this on the next video also… I think if you added the season and episode number of the season in your description (Like S6E1 or 6x1) it would help you reach more people. This will really help with some of the more popular episodes. Because some people search that way and not by the series episode number. To see what I mean do a blind search for “Clone Wars E 108” and compare it to a search for “Clone Wars S6E1” and notice where your video appears in the search list. This is especially helpful for clone wars because of the chronological vs release order (And how some of the numbering is different) I like how you analyze episodes in your reactions. I Subscribed and looking forward to future videos. And will watch some of your previous videos.

I won't spoil anything about the series in the aftermath, but out of the jedi who survive, there is absolutely a trend. Every single one is forced to reflect on what happened and reforge their identities as Jedi. Yoda and Obi are perfect examples. Especially since they were at the center of it all. While I don't think the force 'takes sides' Ahsoka is clearly listening to something going unheard or obstructed, you know? She starts on that journey first. I think that last conversation with the council was one last chance to regain her trust. Mace Windu's absolutely invalidating response, the lack of any accountability on the orders part? It's awful. The validity of the argument that it was a trial that made her stronger, doesn't really matter. Especially in that moment. And here, Mace uses it as a way to deflect from how Ahsoka was hurt and shut down any conversations about prevention or the deeper issues. If i was Ahsoka, and that was the response to my broken trust, I would leave too. There is no apology, no validation of what she went through, and most importantly, no plan, or even promise for preventing her trust (or others) being broken in the future. And yes, this absolutely another straw for Anakin. Not only losing Ahsoka, but also breaking his trust with the Council. I think this is another point where his trust in Kenobi is broken too. (Another being the mission where Kenobi faked his death). I do think Kenobi was one of the ones who voted against ejecting Ahsoka from the order (many think it was Plo, Yoda, and Obi-Wan) but he still fails to protect Ahsoka in any meaningful way. Not condemning her himself isn't really enough in this situation. Even if he did all he could, he still continues to support the council in the same capacity after this. He doesn't place enough blame on them for this or other things in the future. at least, from Anakin's perspective. Everyone using all of their energy on the war is a big factor too, among many other things.

just think you are being a little too harsh on the jedi. While yes they have lost their way, they are not the villains in the war or responsible for it as barriss thinks. The only thing I agree with barris on is that the republic is failing. In this case ,while yes it is frustrating as the watcher, the jedi went by the only way they could. At this point they are so symbiotic with the senate that they HAVE to keep good relations with them and go with the protocol. I AM of the opinion that the jedi should never have gotten so involved with the politics, but at this point it is already to late. The last true Jedi was Qui Gonn Jin. Well at least until luke in the Legends continuity came along and reformed the jedi back to their old glory. Sadly disney mad him keep ALL the old jedi rules and Dogma in the new canon. But it is important to say that Jedi philosophy IS right in the star wars universe, since the dark side needs to be purged in order to restore balance to the force (there is no real light side. Only the force and its Will on one side and the dark side, wich is just perverting the force to bend it to its own will). Even ahsoka got it wrong by rejecting jedi ideals to some extent (but i wont go deeper into her since it would be spoilers). I would really recommend watching some lore explanation videos of the legends continuity and how luke changed the jedi.

@@aacm1259 i realize that. but Qui Gonn was still following the will of the force and not beholden to the jedi code. Just because the order had already started to rott doesnt mean that qui gonn wasnt the only lone jedi who symbolized a true jedi. That is why george (as dave told the story) said that if Qui Gonn survived The Duel of the Fates, then anakin wouldnt have fallen because Qui Gonn would have taught him the true Jedi Way without complete detachment but with COMpassion instead of passion. Anakin would have been a more balanced person and while still having troubles emotionally, would have learned to vent his feelings in a more healthy way

@@anteletica1148 Unfortunately no such thing as 'true' Jedi, they have evolved throughout their history and what it meant to be a Jedi has similarly evolved throughout: the Warlords of the old republic, the dynasties leading to the fall of the Brotherhood of darkness, the researchers of the Dawn of the Jedi forced to be warriors during the 100 years of darkness, the Knights errant of the high republic, the Generals of the Fall of the Republic. The Survivors of the Reign of the Empire, the Fighters in The Age Rebellion. Qui Gon was far from the only Jedi to question the council, even Jedi in the council would break some of the rules when it called for, saying that he was the only "true" Jedi is quite reductive on them as an institution and individuals. They made mistakes but throughout their history they have always been whatever the galaxy called for them to be.

@@aacm1259 its not reductive to call someone a ,,true" jedi. Qui Gonn himself stated that he was following the Will of the LIVING force when most of the jedi of his era had forgotten what that truly meant. I did not mean that just bending the rules made someone a true jedi, but following their original purpose of being an extension of the living force. It is no coincidence that Qui Gonn was the first in milennia to discover the method to become a proper force ghost (though he died before completing the training). I DO agree that the Jedi Order and their teachings can change and therefore the average jedis mentality changes. Nonetheles the true meaning of a Jedi never changes. I think you have a Problem with the title ,,True" jedi. While yes it is a bit presumptuous to call someone true its the best Definition i have for it. My favourite scene of all time is the one where luke throws away his saber and declares himself as a jedi almost as if saying: ,, i am a man of peace and compassion. I didnt learn in order to hurt but protect, so i am especially not gonna hurt my own father. This is what it means to be a jedi." @@anteletica1148 That's what I mean, was Ulic Kel droma "true" or Meetra Surik, Revan, was Obi Wan not true, the purpose of the Jedi is to follow the will of the force, not necessarily the living force. The unifying force was just as important which was what Obi Wan subscribed to, Qui Gon was incredibly wise he nevertheless made a lot of mistakes throughout his life, mistakes for which he paid dearly. Many times because of his arrogance in believing that he was always acting through the will of the force. He was not perfect and that is what makes him interesting. Nevertheless my point is that by your definition of true, then Qui Gon was the first and last true Jedi.

Perhaps this is just my perspective on things, but I think Luke is the perfect individual to rebuild the Jedi Order for two fold reasons namely. 1.) Luke with his own two eyes bore witness to a more powerful force than the dark side, love. For as much as Palpatine always preached about "power" & how much "power" the dark side when used as a tool can grant, it was ultimately a more POWERful force (love) that did him in. Vader had experienced the dark side for decades, but threw it all away to save his son. This act is physical proof that love is functionally, (& sometimes literally, action wise), a more powerful force than the dark side/dark side emotions/characteristics. 2.) Luke also witnessed first hand something the Jedi Order of old had not, a Sith turn back to the light. The Jedi preached complete disconnect from any & all emotion because they were utterly terrified of the dark side taking hold in force sensitive individuals. The Jedi order were way too rigid in their applied practices. If a repenting Sith Lord was dragged before the Clone Wars Era Jedi Council, they'd have executed them on the spot, whereas Luke's Jedi Order likely would've been more open to forgiveness. I see it as Luke was made aware of the faults of the old Jedi Order, but despite that, he also knows the Dark Side is just straight up not the most powerful force in the universe, making him open to change, but still incorruptible. (Something Disney seemingly did not understand...)
