It's like people can't understand when someone is self interested. Kuzunoha is very much like Ainz, not perhaps as brutal in some of the responses, but at the end of the day he's out to protect what is his and his followers. Woe unto thee is you happen to be on the opposing side.

- Have to Gave up his all life on Earth to be summoned as hero => get fired by the Goddess at the first second he came because he is ugly according to her, and ejected to the end of the world. - The last time he cared for hyuman => death in his demi-plane - Minding his own business => got summoned in the middle of a battlefield without warning to fight 2 of the strongest people of this world with zero prep time. - When he just try to business (with price that’s basically charity for the customers) = he got fucked, abused and betrayed by the people in power... Tell me people, why should he be a hero for them and save them for free again ?

I think I understand Tsukiyomi plan for Makoto, he was supposed to be the hero that unites the world while also cleaning up the goddesses mess, but because of her stupidity, Tsukuyomi went with a backup plan for Makoto, make him what I call it God candidate in order to replace the goddess, if she just went along with the original plan everything would have ended up fine and she would have finally been named because I think like with Tomoe and Mio being named I think a deity can only be named by a higher deity or an already named deity, but no because of her obsession with looks she tossed away Makoto and only kidnap two people who are better looking not capable, not to mention again she took two and gave one to each kingdom which already has a straight relationship or to be precise they absolutely hate each other, basically the numbskull truly made it a three-way War.

Makoto isn't a hero, he's a god in training.

I was quite shocked to realize that there are a lot of people angry because Makoto is not acting heroic or something even though the series makes it very clear from the beginning that he clearly is not and should not be a hero. You'd think anyone with a bit of neural activity would have picked it up by now...

No, he's no hero, the series has been building to this. Makoto only cares about his friends, those who associate with him (hence rescuing the prostitutes who bought his products). His students and if he's feeling ok that day, innocents. It all stems from that goddess, his interactions with Hyuman and Demon authorities to the point where he'll only interfere outside of his personal sphere if it suits and advantages him.

@@SuperTab2actually he got attacked after the goddess used him as a distraction. Unlike the other two his accumulated power was easily enough to overpower them as he had multiple rings charged to breaking point with his excess mana! The other two handled this differently one via mind control and heavily dependent on his perceived invulnerability the other prefers to work as part of a team and unlike Makoto didn’t work on her magical abilities!

The only part where the isekai hero stigma fits is in how the MC was summoned but then the Goddess just threw him away because she deemed him too ugly but then still wanted to force him to do her bidding. And quite a few of the Hyumans he met are absolute degenerate aholes, so he has no reason to help them as stated in the video. Especialyl with what happened to Tomoes fragment back in seaosn 1. I have heard that Tomoe and Mio are actually the ones getting worried of Makotos racism towards the Hyumans. Dude is getting colder by the day. I still need to watch the newer episodes, but Makotos students and the guy who helped him setting up his stores will probably get help. The Merchant guy and his family do feel indebted to Makoto and they have no reason to be aholes to him. But if I was in Makotos shoes I would also be like: "This is not my problem. If you want help then do it yourself." But yeah, Hyumans are pretty terrible people. It is the same as with normal humans in the real world. Think about how stupid the average person is. Half the world is even more stupid than that. And I like how Makoto does not hesitate to get serious. He's great.

It's not even racism. He is not actively hating on Hyumans, he just doesn't care anymore. If he is approached as equals, and stablishes a positive relationship with a Hyuman (either commercial, friendship, political or of subordination) he will go out of his way to assist them, but since most hyumans he interacts with outside of Tsige are arrogant arses, he just now pays them no more attention to that of a random tree on the road. Also, it is funny that him being ugly, and looking like a Kobold hybrid, is why demi-humans don't treat him badly whenever they first meet him, which is also why Makoto has a possitive reaction to most of them.

I feel like the headmaster spoke for some of the audience, in that he was shown berating Makoto for not doing more. And some of the audience as Princess Lily and the Laurel rep, knowing what Makoto is capable of and why he isn't doing more.

Moonlit Fantasy is magnificent.

Makoto is a merchant, and the hyumans have fairly consistently swindled and cheated him. They are mostly not good customers, so why would a merchant offer them anything. The hyumans who have proven to be good customers or business partners, or even developed a degree of friendly or respectful relations with him he will help. But hyumans as a whole? Nope. They can take care of themselves. Or not. Either is fine with Makoto.

For how he was treated they have to thank him for not destroying hyumans and demons both

I don't know why people would think he would save them. He is leader if a third rising faction, dimihumans

I'm honestly confused why people are expecting Makoto to do anything. The entire show has been about how the hyumans are dominating everything because they're protected by the same goddess that Makoto viscerally hates? If this was a demi human city he was visiting I'd maybe expect Makoto to save the day, but he's been consistently mistreated by the goddess and her hyumans

The demons are mobilizing but we don't know what their target is yet. As Shiki pointed out the demons have cut telepathy communication and teleportation circles are being destroyed. So, the hyumans are in the dark since they cannot communicate between their cities. I think the demons are not attacking academic city since Rion promised to stay away.

Speaking of the opening, although there were stylistic changes, everything that was shown on it also was shown on the first season. Going by the current arc and the number of episodes left, it is probably safe to say everything shown on the current opening will also appear on this second season, since most events happen in a short period of time.

6 more episodes and I can binge the whole series from the beginning. I always look forward to any videos you do on this series, it is one of my favorites. I simply can't understand why some people are saying he is obligated to do anything or help anyone, much less be a hero. Of course everyone has an opinion or idea of what a hero is but as you said that doesn't mean anything because in the end it is all subjective. Opinions are exactly that and nothing more. Now if you want to get to the brass tacks of it all, at the very beginning of the series it is already stated and proven he is most definitely not "the hero." The Goddess spurned him, gave him no powers, cursed his existence and threw him out telling him to have ZERO interaction with her beautiful people. By that very moment alone he has no obligations to anyone or anything. At this point it is his own moral compass and idealism that is driving his actions. His very powers are from the God Tsukuyomi and he specifically told him he had no obligations and to live and enjoy his life his way. How are people forgetting this? We are just lucky enough to have a protagonist that has a good moral compass ( yes, that is an subjective opinion lol ) at this point and when he does something it is because he deems it right in his eyes. We couldn't ask for better in my humble opinion. When Makoto decides to take action it will be for his own reasons and to protect what he feels is important to him. Also, when he does, it will quiet obviously be a train wreck for anyone who is dumb enough to stand on those particular train tracks lol. Great video and also great job at no spoilers. Looking forward to more videos and breakdowns on this series.

Sadly people who have no moral code like to APPEAR that they do, when the reality is that if they DID, then they'd be doing things to be heroic in the real world, instead of complaining about fictional characters not holding those same ideals in fictional worlds.

First of all, I totally agree with you, he was never suppose to be a hero. In the very first episode he was left for dead by the goddess of the world. He just wants a place in the world were he can live with his new family. Recall that is the reason why he felt he couldn't accept Mio & Tomokoe advances cause they're family to him now. My interpretation is he will attack the Demon's stronghold which just happens to be were the twin sisters are from & were Hikibichi(female hero) lost her comrade. Also I believe the princess just wants Tomokoe(our favorite intelligent Dragon) for her hero, she's definitely an opportunistic individual who wants power. She's being nice to our MC just so he doesn't choose the other rulers, she's definitely not on his side. Also from the opening credits I gathered the male hero will attack Minito(MC) at night thinking that will be best since he still believes he can't die at night. I believe "*POSSIBLE SPOILER*" minito or Mio will in fact kill 1 or both heroes plus Sophia (The Dragon slayer) that evening. I've not seen anything or read anything but my Spidey senses tell me the big reveal will be 1 or all 3. Sorry for the essay

The best thing Makoto can do for himself is stay in the Demi plain and lock the door if he does comes out and decides to help anyone they should say thank you have a good day

On a related note, I had a debate with someone over Makoto's characterization; they honestly believe he's a gutless, weak-minded coward, and I vehemently disagreed. I brought up points to counter their accusations, and they called me a moron in response.

How fast would you move to help a godess who sent you unprepared to the abandoned harshest corner of the world, after telling you aren't needed? But the Hyumans? REALLY? Even Tskukiyomi told him he was stripped of his role as hero. They also opened fire on him when he found his first town. Blew up part of the demi-plane. Did you even watch Season 1 bro? This is why it's slow! They are trying to spell out his motives. WATCH THE BLOODY SHOW! It all makes sense. I've been geeking out about this story since the WN it is really one of the first well written anti-heros (by definition) that we have gotten.

I was completely okay that Makoto only did to save the people around him, but nothing beyond that.

Oh he is the hero! But not the human hero. He is the hero of the demis. And he fulfilled this role yet again 😊

For me one of the things that i found most disappointing about this season is how much of Makoto's inner monologue has been cut out, for me one of the most impressionable moments of Makoto came from this arc. I decided to re read what happened and it turns out that when the rampage began Makoto almost decided to deploy large forces to suppress the mutants and orders Tomoe to lead it, then all of a sudden he stops and thinks "why should I do that?". He calls off the order and asks Tomoe, Mio, and Shiki "I want all of you to think about what's best for us?". He decides that helping the town right away will gain him almost nothing. I REALLY wanted to see this from Makoto, it surprised me when I first read it. Makoto goes on to remember his meeting with the guild master and says "I never want to be talked to like that again, so what should I do now? What's the best way to handle this in a way that benefits us?". I was really impressed with him here! Such a shame they changed it, unless it was that way in the light novel but I guess we'll have to wait for it to come out in eng

of course makoto a hero to the the residents of the demiplane the people that love and respect him and he would do what it took to protect them and of course he going to save his students, the librarian and her sister as they could get him information on his parents as i think that the only reason he playing nice with look at it this way the goddess the human love pulled him from his home because of the agreement between her and his parent then throw him in the wasteland to die because he was ugly she openly hoped the fall would kill him but thanks to his parents being from this world and earth being a crucible having a heavier gravity or atmosphere and no mana makoto superhuman (that why in my opinion he has the mana of five demon kings at the beginning of the series) add in Tsukuyomi gift he didn't suffer any injuries (side note i read in a forum the reason he can't use healing magic is his parents removed his ability because of an accident in his early childhood) then when he get to his first human town she attacked because of his mana and being unable to speak common when he return to the human town he finds the top adventurer a fraud and crime boss exploiting the town people and keeping 4 adventure as test subjects (toa party) in tisge the Elaine and party use Makoto and Mio to find the ambrosia flower and then we he save her party from the forest ogres she and her party steal magic items attack the demiplane and kill one orc and tomoe fragment almost killing a orc child and minato finally just before the city suffered this attack from greedy humans like Ilumgand that was trick by demon makoto was basically blackmailed and threaten by the merchant guild that threatened not only himself but his employees because they are demi humans and rembandt for back him in my opinion he should have created a second devil lake in the middle of rotsgard with the merchant guild ground zero

To the residents of the Demiplane Makoto is the God King. Thanks to him the Demiplane is constantly expanding at first.

Really the bottom line is that this is not a combat anime, it has combat. It is for the most part a political anime, with other elements, such as combat, a small amount of Ecchi, slice of life, and world building. If you want combat, go watch bleach or dragonball, if you want more of a political, go watch Genjitsu Shugi Yuusha no Oukoku Saikenki.

The hyumans and demons both have rejected him and try to control him. They only want him if they can control him. The goddess rejected him and released him as a ‘hero’ right from the beginning. Both goddess appointed heroes were both manipulated by their respective kingdoms right from the beginning. The MC’s people are mostly Demi-humans and non-demonic monsters. The few hyumans that he cares for treated him and his followers with respect. Harriet Tubman didn’t protect and help all people, just the down trodden minority, the black slaves, not poor people that carried the prejudice that prevailed. The city in question is full of dirt bag hyumans that he shouldn’t care about. Let their hyumans system of government protect them or not.

Many people complaining are just upset of the lack of action. In turn accuse the writing of being worse. They'll go as far as to accuse Makoto of being a false hero or a scumbag because he doesn't save everyone. When this whole season has been a build up of Makoto just eating shit from the humans. Now If were being fair some of this treatment is a direct consequence of Makoto's lack of experience and naiveite. But that doesn't change the fact that he doesn't have a favorable view of the humans and their general society because of his interactions throughout the season. I also want to know where this idea of Makoto being a noble hero even came from? I mean I get that he's a nice guy but I never once thought he was a completely selfless and sacrificial person. Not saying that he cant be that type of person. I'm just saying I haven't seen anything like that on a consistent basis from Makoto.

Maki is not a hero. He has been relieved of his hero duties. Matter of fact, the goddess even gave him a curse of bad luck before dropping him in the waste lands

He has better things to do, like reclaim his parent's homeland, which technically makes it his homeland too. Remember the librarian and the sister who is a waitress? They are from the same place, that is why Makoto asked them if they really wanted to go ahead with that plan.

@@zam023 i understand that but the plan reclaim his homeland will take a lot of time, what i believe is let everyone know that he is someone that can't be pushed around, i mean on one side tomoe is saying that even an ancient dragon can't leave a scratch on him but on the other side he is letting the guild guy off the hook, maybe he will take his revenge but I haven't felt that strong in him to punish those who try to take advantage of him.

Makoto was never a hero, in fact he is a sociopath that is emotionally dead save for anger, he is slowly regaining his emotions but he's no hero, in fact he's quick to anger, is it any wonder his harem are monster girls with strange moral compasses? Thing is, comparing his actions against the actions and morals of The Bug, Princess Lily (who hates everyone, even herself), the heroes, Rona and the demons who want war and the goddess and anti-goddess factions and he's a saint.

@@QuietManUK He is starting to care about the people of Asora, he cried after killing that Hyuman, not because he cared, but because his parents told him death was a sad occasion and he should cry, most of the emotions he showed are acting, to not freak people out, he could get angry for them as anger is one of the few emotions he still had, as for helping people, he helps whoever interests him or is lucky to be in his vicinity in times of trouble, he will help hyumans out of interest even more now that he's fed up with their antics, with Zara trying to extort him being the last straw, he could save the whole city if he wanted to, he doesn't, the hyumans will fend for themselves, Zara will soon realize the depths of his stupidity when they meet again, as he sees that Makoto could save the whole city, and the whole guild, now, he won't.

You know what you are Miss Miss representation what what you talking about here he is the third hero first of all they mentioned it to episodes ago about a third hero I'm pretty sure you realize there's only three heroes there's not a mythical third hero there is three heroes he is the third hero and as the third hero him standing around and doing nothing is more of a village he likes to criticize the heroes for being villains and he's doing he's sitting there with that acting like a villain not only that you also have you also have the fact that he was granted power not by the goddess but by a God tsukiyomi so that does make him the third hero no matter how you want to slice it a hero is a person who takes a stand for what is right and not what is wrong now when you do nothing and stand around doing nothing that makes you a villain in my book

He isn't a hero. He was rejected by the goddess. The God tsukiyomi gave Makoto his power as a compensation and told Makoto that being a hero isn't his responsibility since the goddess rejected him so he's free to what he wants

Yea the title is this show should be taught in schools as how not to write a fantasy story this is part of the the person who created the forum on mal was saying nothing major is happening through all the episodes for 20 episodes nothing happened
