Fantastic stuff from KZread's no.1 exponent of nostalgia drag racing, hot rod and custom car coverage.
always enjoy video's about Island Dragway----I was there that day-!!!! Great video
Such great angles and shots! Cool footage.
Island was my home track from 1999 to 2020. I raced an 8 second, 165 mph street legal 2003 Suzuki GSX-R1000 there. Set a track record for street legal bikes (no wheelie bar, no slick, no NOS, or turbo) of 8.50 seconds in 2019 as a 69 year old rider. I am sure that has been bettered by the awesome young riders I raced against in those days, but I don't think any street legal bike will ever go faster than my 168 mph pass on NOS in 2012.
Thanks for posting, love the old cars.
Nice shots Good job 👍👍
used to come here in the 60s., every w/e loved it
Great vid!!! 👍👍
awesome, was there!
where was the "Time bomb "Vega this year-????
I thought I was watching a drag racing video but I just saw Daisy Dukes.
Great footage and documentary of an era that will never be surpassed!
Some fantastic machinery there , can only dream of fields this big in the uk , would love to come here one day . Why is there so little spectators there ? An event like this in the uk would sell thousands.
impressive Nice Editing
These cars are like playing with bombs....
Great privatater racing action
I'm damn sure that noreaster funny is an old John Force car from around 95? Back then NHRA allowed that brick wall box spoiler.
The last track and it'll likely be gone soon. A lot of that has to do with the "My dad" syndrome. Their parents did this and kept it fresh, all they did was take over and use mom and dad's funding. When people work to start something and keep it going, it doesn't get taken away as easily. I still run a '71 Maverick in A/G and I built it from the ground up when I was in my 20s back in the mid '90s. My dad didn't give it to me, he hated the scene. Probably why I loved it so much, lol. I'd run it on the street if they tried to shut my local tracks down!
It cracks me up that back in the seventies how they would slap a Camaro body on a HEMI Powered motor and give😊 all the cudos to Chevy?
We need dry hops up to the line, far more entertaining.
0:28 I saw that car at the nationals

Yeah.. I will be this year. Thank you for watching the channel. I’ll be out this year. Getting wetbox and shoots open at the finish line. Get ready…
These must be Alcohol cars. The funny cars don't sound like top fuel cars. Right?
