In St Thomas it's well advised to just take the taxi to Megan's Bay. As you learned, it's really the only thing to see and the locals tell you to grab a cab and that cabbie will even meet you back at your specified time to pick you up. No worries about late shuttles!

I had gotten married on Magen’s Bay at sunset in the sand. It was spectacular. Love that beach.

Magen's Bay was suggested to us on my first Cruise back in 2001. It's actually rated one of the 10 most Beautiful beaches in the world! We always go back when we are in St.Thomas.

They are called fury sea cucumbers. :) they are echinoderms, related to starfish and sea urchins. The fish are smooth trunkfish. Cool stuff :D

If you have the opportunity to return to St.Thomas, I highly recommend the tour group Sunfari! A local husband and wife team that takes you anywhere on the island in these Jeeps for the day. Griff and Alyssa KZread cruisers featured them. Best tour I ever took.

You have went to one of my favorite beaches, Magen's Bay. I went there in August on the Symphony of the Seas. You know you never know how beautiful a place is until you capture it on video too! The video was beautiful and it brought back warm smiles. One awesome thing about Magen's Bay is they have benches, food and a bar. I stayed by the green awning. I must try the sky ride. As many times I've been to St. Thomas I never went on the sky ride. I am glad you went to guest services to make a complain. Thank you for sharing!

I have always wanted to go to St. Thomas maybe Aug 2023 if we decide to book on the Sky we will go. Stuff happens, nothing is not without hiccups. Loved the video. Can't wait for the rest of the series.

I'm binge-watching this series, since you put them out while we were on the Escape 😂 Just disembarked this morning, so this is great for the Cruise Blues 👍🏻 Haven't seen yet if you got to do the Canvas by U painting or not, but we learned this the hard way and know the "secret" now (and so do you for your next NCL cruise): go sign up as soon as you can when you embark bc those sessions fill up quick. They usually do two or three different paintings throughout a 7-day sailing. Super fun & know you know for the next time! 👍🏻👍🏻Also, we did that same excursion you did and didn't know they leave you at the Sky Ride until we got there! I'm going to leave a review on Norwegian's site just so future guests are aware of how it was this past week. The excursion had no reviews when I booked it the week before we left, so I think it might be brand new. Anyway, on with the binge!! 😂

I have had fish bump into me before. My butthead child said it was because the fish are not used to seeing neon signs below the surface. My legs were really white. So she figured the bright white was the attraction for them to check out. Has to be one in every crowd.

Wow! Dee saw so many cool sea creatures at Magen's Bay!! I totally want to go there! I've never seen sea cucumbers before. Sorry you didn't get to see Drake's Seat or go on the skyride. It's so frustrating when the tour operators run LATE! You gave a perfect example of how to politely go to the Shore Excursion's desk to plea your case and I'm so glad they refunded half of your $$. Are you planning another go at St. Thomas so you can have a "redemption" visit there? I always like a little "arts & crafts" myself; how fun that you did some coloring. The anchor would have been my choice as well! We enjoyed the spontaneity of the Howl at the Moon show; definitely talented artists there!

Brought back memories. Magens Bay is beautiful and we always get coconuts from the guy at the entrance. Since that was a ship tour, they should have made sure you got back in time to enjoy the sky ride. A bit disorganized. The Indian station is my favorite. Thanks for sharing.😎

are you allowed to do your own off ship excursions in St Thomas and Tortola?

Yes that was not a good excursion. They need to keep to the schedule and I think if you are on ship excursion they should take you back to the ship. I know not to do that one now. I have knee issues and walk slow so I want one that drops me off back at the ship. Thanks for sharing it with us.

I heard that Indian station in the buffet turns into a seafood place with really good seafood later in the cruise.

When in St. Thomas we love to visit Trunk Bay at St. Johns.

@@parodeejay There's a snorkelling "trail" there. My husband did it and saw a lot - even stingrays and turtles. I enjoyed floating in the beautiful water! Enjoy!

We did that excursion in St. Thomas with Carnival

The New York Strip Steak looked pretty poor in the Manhattan restaurant!

Manhattan restaurant has entertainment only till 8pm!

We did Magans Bay in 2019 on our Encore cruise. We just went to the taxi stand, paid them directly, and paid again at the beach...Nobody really explained how it worked to us, so we got what felt like a shakedown 1/2 way there on the side of the road, demanding cash for the taxi. And then again at the beach entrance. Overall, it was a great beach, but not clear. I think it was about $14 a person...But we needed exact change!

You guys are really cute and fun to listen to. Hope we run into you on a ship one day.

I'm so glad to see this video. I just booked a cruise for June 2023 for my husband and I and he wants to snorkel . I'm not real sure of this but you make it look like fun. Is it hard to get up and down the ladders on the boats?

You know through the years cruising I have came to realize those excursions that r on such a time crunch I do not like. One of the only things I don’t like about cruising. These days I try to stay clear of the multiple stop excursions. Save myself a frustrated trip to guest services.

We always say to double check with your specific phone provider, but since Puerto Rico is part of the United States, you should have regular cell service there, as well as places like St. Thomas and other US territories.

They started it too late in the day and tried to fit in too much, we’d say. But we were glad to hear they planned to start it an hour earlier on future cruises! Sapphire was decent, especially if you like having a cool little bar at the beach. Magen’s was probably better for actual swimming with soft sand and an area protected from waves. Sapphire is free whereas Magen’s charges a $5 entry fee… but we’d probably still go Magen’s between the two choices!! :D

Dee, have you tried using those full face snorkeling masks? I'm not an avid swimmer. I used it for snorkeling once and fell in love with it.

Do the phones not automatically change time like they do on land. I know when we change time my phone changes automatically.

Because you typically need to stay on airplane mode while on the ship, it works best for us to do the time changes manually. If you're in a port where you have data service, then your phone will change automatically when you get to the port, but it would still have the "wrong" time that morning while you're still onboard the ship.

Double check your personal cell phone plan, but Saint Thomas is part of the United States and typically does not have any extra charges.

“Drake's Seat, Magens Bay & Skyride” though Drake’s Seat was skipped due to road construction and the Skyride was skipped due to poor timing from NCL, so we got one out of three stops!! :P

She tried it and it’s great especially for beginner snorkeled or folks who don’t want to worry with remembering to only breathe through the mouth, but she prefers the standard set!! :D ~Jay

We were happy to see that they took our suggestions, made the future tours an hour earlier, and refunded us a good chunk. We were disappointed in the tour but happy with their response at least!! :P

How about making it more about the beach / water/ surroundings than doing silly videos such as this!
