Now that's what I call road engineering. Splendid wildlife overpasses, tunnels, and bridges on this stretch.

Trans Canada Phil Yep, when Norway builds motorways, it does it well. The problem is that we don't have a lot of motorways.

@@TransCanadaPhil Agree with LegendMeadow, we build some very good roads when we build, but on the other side we tend to use too long time in the planning phase and we build somewhat short stretches using a bit too long time (It has improved the last years though due to the right wing gvt. introduced "Nye Veier"). A little side note and a bit of a irony for you. We had some very unofficial plans in the 60's to build 4 lanes motorway between the 5 biggest cities in Norway (Stavanger-Kristiansand, Kristiansand-Oslo, Oslo-Bergen and Oslo-Trondheim), however Oil struck us so it was put aside, and now we have to pay a lot, lot, more for that. Some of the lefties want to close many of the current 4 lanes projects as they think of the environment, but it's idiotic and old argument as cars in 10 years time will be mainly Zero-emissions vehicles with the speed of development we have for cars in relation to that. www.nyeveier.no/en/

What a beautiful area of Norway!! :D There is a stunning view at every turn of the road, and spectacular bridges in the area. :) Thank you for all the hard work you do, taping your adventures and getting them ready to show us. :) You may call it a driving holiday, but to me, they are adventures. You are traveling new roads, some old roads that you've never been on, so it's an adventure. :) Have a great vacation!!

Farris bridge (at 2:50) with landmark towers crosses the lower end of Farris lake along the Farris isthmus. The lake holds tap water for 200,000 people.

Although impressive, the Landgangen bridges will not be part of the new motorway which will run on bridges immediately north of the current bridges. However, The Grenland Bridge will carry the northbound carriageway when it opens sometime in the 20s. The current Langangen bridges will presumably carry local traffic, which means that they will not encounter the same faith as the old bridge in Larvik which was torn down this week, video here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/pqyB2pWLnNywY9o.html
