Cheers, Ally had to shoot in slow mo as the little scamps are so quick. Luckily, still a fair few here in Northumberland, but the march of the grey continues, and they have reached the next valley to this one in The Cheviot Hills. Hopefully, these reds continue to be protected. I've just won a competition with that photo to be featured on a national red squirrel calendar for next year, so happy days 😀 Have a great Christmas and all the best. Mick.

That was great footage 😊 did you have to be quite patient to spot him? I’ve only seen a wild red squirrel once I think it was in the lakes and he ran away so quickly I couldn’t get it done on camera.

Thank you. There were actually 4 squirrels running around as I shot the footage and it was difficult to follow them at times, they move so quick so I shot it in slow motion. There is a large group of reds in this area of The Cheviot Hills so you don't have to wait long before one will come and check you out as they are very curious. Take care. Mick.

I do love the Reds. Sadly, none in the east midlands that I’m aware of. Wonderfully captured this creatures best attributes

Thank you Rachel , yes sadly the greys continue to now outnumber the reds up here now and there are only a few areas where the reds remain. Mick.

Mick that was so very special. Incredible footage of an icon of the woods. Not many left but they hold out up there. Thanks for sharing. Have a great seasonal week. Mark P.S what was the fabulous tune?

Thank you, Mark. A few strongholds still remain for the reds up here but the slow advance of the greys continues, I have seen a few in the next valley south of this one and another spot once famous for reds has none now. This group are doing very well though and there is a concerted effort to protect them from the greys in this valley so hopefully they can remain. The music is from a Scottish band called Beluga Lagoon and the song is 'Hollow'. Have a great Christmas and all the very best for the new year. Take care. Mick.

@@blamhof A pleasure Mick - A real good one this. Yes, them Greys are just to big and hungry for the reds. Good to hear of the next valley. That was a haunting piece of music. Thanks bro. Yeah, I'll have a good one. Peace.
