@@Se7enRemain Oh so that's why subway has those special bags of chips nobody buys that are both smaller and more expensive than they should be. Maybe they'll remember to put that back to normal now that the loss leading program is over. It's only been 12 years.

every couple of weeks I wake up in a cold sweat in line at subway and order a footlong italian herb and cheese with cold cut, cheese and toasted with lettuce, tomato, both olives, pickles, mayo and sub sauce. i don't drink alcohol, smoke or have any vices except that something in my monkey brain makes me crave a subway sandwich like no other food that i have as yet tasted. this is my curse, and mine alone.

Think about it, when you crave subway, do you want subway or do you want a sandwich with bread veges and meat... now think about the taste of a subway sandwich. The bread doesn't taste like bread, the veges don't taste like anything and the meat is slimy and doesn't taste like meat. I beat the cravings brother, stay strong.

brother do yourself a favor some time. sit down & make yourself a whole, fully-loaded sandwich. im not talking two slices of ham & cheese. i mean get a cutting board, slice some onions & tomatoes, mayo on bottom bread, use two different types of meat folded in half so they have more surface area, onions and whatever other chopped greens (lettuce is good) on meat, pour some vinegary sauce over the onions so it bleeds the bite of the onions into the meat, tomato slices that we've salt & peppered, two slices of cheese, & mustard on the top slice of bread. if you wanna go crazy wrap it tightly in paper bag with one end open and pop it in the oven for a bit subway does not deserve to profit off of our need for a good sandwich. its actually way easier to make a bomb sandwich than it is to be having fugue states in the mausoleum to the $5 footlong every month

Weirdest thing about the new menu is that you can just order a sandwich with the same ingredients without asking for it by name, and it’ll be cheaper. For now at least.

UK so maybe ours is different in quality and taste. But here Subway is the only fast food place I can find that still gives NHS discounts, making it actually affordable so I'll happily eat there. Everyone banged their pots and masturbated furiously over ads about the workers during and after covid, but as soon as wages or discounts were brought up none of the companies wanted to be involved.

Back a hundred years ago I remember an individual ordered a double meat meatball on Flatbread, and then complained that it was a mess. My guy, there's not even room for regular meat meatballs on Flatbread, what do you want me to do about it?

I used to get 2 stacked footlong meatball subs for $16 cdn now it cost over $16 for 1. Before the select menu it was $11 for 1 which was boarderline acceptable now its like forget it I would rather eat prepared sandwiches at the deli in my groccery store.

I dunno about u guys, but subways in my area still allow me to put any ingredients on, I choose my 1 meat/veg cutlet, toast with cheese, put any vegetable on and i put everything except tomatoes, I am allowed to put ALL sauces and i put 6 sauces with extra barbecue and i gobble that slop DOWN. The best part, it costs 4 dollars(converting the currency)

The new menu is legit gonna kill subway. This shit just came to my local one. And made ordering a nightmare. I'm not going back unless I hear that shit is gone.

Random anecdote: Near my parents house, there's this Subway that me and my brother went to all the time, like we've been going there on-and-off for the past decade or so. We saw in real time the prices getting higher and higher, but we were avid coupon abusers for $6 footlongs and BOGO deals, so it didn't effect us. Every 2-3 months there would always be a new set of workers there, and every single one always told us how shit the job was and how terrible the managers were. It was in a really hard-to-access area, and they were always trying to add in weird shit that didn't make any sense, so we were convinced that that place was gonna shut down like 5 years ago. Well, it finally shut down a week ago. Godspeed, my town can finally stop sacrificing poor high school graduates to suffer for half a year to the Subway Demons.

One of the biggest things I hate about tipping is when I am out with friends and I pay last after watching all my friends tipping at a place that you don't typically tip at. Now I feel compelled to not be the guy who breaks that chain.

In Germany subway is actually quite decent, around 8-10 euros for a footlong I believe. So that would make it about half the price, and quality wasn’t bad if you don’t mind some of the food waiting and being reheated I suppose Wouldn’t pay 15 for it though.

Different places have wildy varied qualities of fast food, subway In the UK was pretty good as little as a few years back (though it seems like it's losing some steam).

European Subway is great since we have more laws requiring produce to be fresh here. Had it in a few countries and I've always been told only by North Americans that it sucks. I do agree that it's usually way too expensive and they need to stop changing the menu tho

I've only had Subway in Europe and I agree. Their sandwiches are somewhat expensive, but I've never been disappointed. They're at least better than what I can make in the kitchen (or I just can't be bothered). The unfortunate part is that we had quite a few Subway stores in my country for a few years, but I guess they didn't catch on because they all closed down like a year ago.

Best part is Subway Franchise owners don't even pay $10/hr it's as close to minimum wage as they can get it, $8/hr if you're lucky. It wasn’t a joke. He was boycotting because they sued the cbc for their story about the chicken being mostly soy. The cbc is funded by the government, so subway suing the cbc affected NL directly since he pays taxes that go to funding the cbc.

For years I never touched subway. Just never interested me. But one day a few years back I decided to give it a go but had literally no idea what to order/ make. I just picked a bunch of random things that sounded kinda nice while the server gave me weird looks. Possibly to nobodies surprise, the sandwich kinda sucked. Haven't had it since, and now I can't even if I wanted to (celiac). That's all of my subway interactions for ya.

I used to be able to go down to my nearby subway, get a footlong veggie delite and a 23 oz Arizona for $6.30 or something like that. This was like six years ago, not that long ago. I went to subway for the last time a couple months back when I went down there and the same sandwich and Arizona came up to like $12-13 (no tips). I decided to never go back there again after that. Fucking insane. And this was before whatever rebranding bullshit NL was talking about. Meanwhile you can get a basic cheese pizza from Little Caesars for $7, a relatively minor increase of $2 from what it used to be. Probably literal poison for me at this point though, my stomach is a lot more finicky than it was six years ago and I'm pretty sure Little Caesars would instantly fill my stomach with bile.

Meanwhile my vegetarian ass has been lovin' Subway for years. Idk where else you can go to customize a sandwich like you can there. Every other place has one single veggie sandwich which definitely tastes better but is even saltier than and loaded up with more sauce than Subway. It's nice to go to a place where I can get a nice dry veggie sandwich and if I don't want cheese that day or I want multi-grain or flatbread or a veggie patty or a lil' bit a' parmigiana sprinkled on top, I can make a few changes to my sandwich without the feeling that I'm annoying the cashier by requesting several changes to their one-size-fits-all sandwich. Not to mention veggie subs are half the price of everything else & you can add as much as you want. That's all I'm sayin'!
