    (translation) 'Wake up, Wake up! A long time ago there was a man called "osakido" who was the camp caller and would wake people at the cack of dawn. He would holler out invitations in camp. Now there are others who play this role. In the morning we see the sun rising and that is when we give thanks for the day and the life that the Creator has bestowed upon us, and for another day that is given to us. A long time ago there were people here on this land and the Creator had given the people everything they needed to survive. The Creator even gave them earth, water, language, dance and song. Today it is still alive on this land'!

    well when the men sing, they are singing to the spirits and when the women join in they are supposed to lift the song higher in tothe clouds to the creator, and its hard for the ladies to sing I would know because I do sing, so when they do respect the fact that they are singing

    love teh northern cree boys, but way is the ladies always in there singing too? i dont understand.. i dont know their culture but... why cant we jus hear the guys.. im not being mean.. its jus the ladies voice is peirceing to my ears..
