Northern Arizona vs Southern Arizona!?!?

In this video we review the differences between Northern Arizona and Southern Arizona. Northern Arizona has more mountains and high elevations which gives it a cooler climate than the south. Places like Flagstaff, Prescott and the White Mountains are so chilly especially during the winters. Southern Arizona gets flash floods and areas along the Colorado River like Yuma are some of the hottest in the nation.
Living in Arizona is quite a unique experience because of the vastness that the state offers. From the Sonoran Desert in the south to the high country in the north all the way up towards the Four Corners east and the Grand Canyon in the west. Known as the Grand Canyon state, Arizona is diverse in many ways. The state tree is the Palo Verde, the state cactus is the Saguaro, the state bird is the Cactus wren. If you are thinking about moving to Arizona feel free to subscribe and check us out on our other channels.

Arizona has the largest single stand of ponderosa pines on the planet - stretching from the south rim of the Grand Canyon 250 miles southeast to the AZ/NM state line. The Kaibab Plateau on the north side of the Grand Canyon has a pine forest the size of Rhonde Island. There are also isolated stands of pines on the Sky Islands in southeast AZ. BTW that white hoodie is cool !!

If there was more work in northern Arizona, it'd be no contest. When I lived in Northern Arizona, I rarely went down to the valley, but when I moved to Phoenix, I realized how many people escape the valley on the weekends. I want to live where I want to be, not live in another place and drive to I want to be on the weekends. Prescott winters aren't bad either. Maybe 1 snow day per year where the roads are unusable, but I never once had to shovel snow there

Agreed 1,000%. I’d love to live in Flagstaff but the job opportunities are so much more limited than here in Phoenix, unfortunately. Wish the big metro area was up in the mountains and not here in the desert.

Maricopa is up and coming too. My brother and I bought a 5 bedroom 2.5 bathroom house just beyond the train tracks that they built a bridge to go over. And the house only costs us 180k, 2 story houses everywhere as well. And very very spacious indoor living space. Great to live but one downside is the wild horse pass highway because you have to drive way out of town to get anywhere. But it's a comfy small town.

I'm Disabled, a Veteran, and have been homeless for two years. I'm not a drug addict, just lost my housing two years ago when the apartment complex I was living at in Mesa Arizona was sold to a buyer in Toronto, who promptly notified the tenants living with Section 8 or VASH assistance they had the option to move out or pay full market value rent without assistance. I found while looking for a place to move to, that most low income housing in my area was eliminated in this same fashion by greedy investors and was unavailable to find another place to live. I bought an old van on payments and was forced to start living in it. I did so for a year and was offered a tiny fiberglass trailer on payments. I found that the person I bought it from had mislead me on a clear title, and have had difficulty getting it registered and legal to tow. I have been stranded at a Recreation Area, above Kingman Arizona for seven months now trying to get repairs done to my van. It is no longer safe to drive, and definitely not suitable to tow my trailer. It has been a living hell, upto 128 degrees at times this summer, now dealing with freezing cold at night and heavy winds. Every time I try to get some repairs made, something comes up. I bought a used generator which failed in a couple weeks, had to buy another one, then my emotional support dog Archie was badly bitten and required veterinary care, my air conditioning compressor failed in my Van, I cut my knuckle to the bone and ligaments on some glass discarding some trash which resulted in an Emergency Room Visit. I have been trying to get help, and have not had much success. I was accepted for PATH Rapid Rehousing through the Catholic Charities, but have searched all over Mohave County but found I cannot afford an apartment on my disability income. I have been looking for a room for rent, but no luck. So now I'm in a panic as I was notified by the Catholic Charities Caseworker handling my information, had their computer stolen and now my personal information has been compromised. I am on a waiting list for Section 8, basically started over. I did not choose to be in this homeless situation, and have been doing my best to deal with everything I have experienced the past 2 years. I had to literally give everything I owned away when I lost my apartment EVERYTHING!, I did try and keep my many tools, but those to were lost to a "friend" who was going but keep them until I get settled, but would never respond to my calls or texts. I am absolutely sick of my life. I don't live anymore, I merely exist, and it's not much of an existence at that. I have not showered in nearly 8 months, and haven't bathed in over two years since losing my apartment. My teeth are broken, many missing, and I broke another one recently, not looking forward to the toothache that's coming. I am nearly blind in one eye and can only see clearly with glasses, but I lost one of the lenses. I have reached out to every VA organization or service center I know of for help, but am ineligible. I worked for the Air Force starting my senior year of high school, as a civilian employee and for the next decade. I also simultaneously served 6 years in the Air National Guard, and was honorably discharged, but still don't meet the requirements as I was on active duty for well over a year with Avionics Technical School, and was activated during Desert Storm, but could not deploy with my unit, as I was a 3 level technician straight out of school. I have no family for support, no friends, only a few people I have met while being homeless. I have had a fellow vet brings some water bottles and food items several months back, and just today was given a propane tank, heavy sleeping bag, and nice winter coat by Catholic charities, these were definitely a blessing and will definitely help, but I don't see how I can ever get out of my situation as my limited income doesn't suffice to handle the many needs I currently have trying to get out of my homeless situation along with handling my major dental problems, lack now of a safe vehicle, and trailer registration. Any day the area I am staying may be closed, the BLM Rangers have told me they plan to close access to this Recreation Area soon. I will be in an Emergency Situation when they do, and have no idea yet what I will do .

Sedona is gorgeous but expensive. I live in Cottonwood which is a very nice place to live and it's cheaper, but I'm trying to save money so that I can move to Sedona. Oak Creek Canyon is Heaven on Earth, but the traffic due to tourism is horrendous (mainly in the summertime) to get to work down in the Verde Valley. Mormon Lake is absolutely stunningly beautiful, but the snow gets deep in the winter time. The only way I can get to my cabin at the top off the hill in the winter time is with a snowmobile.

I would probably pick Southern Arizona.

I live in N. Arizona, the biggest problem we have is we are fast running out of water and too many people are moving here. The powers that be refuse to come up with any answers to the immense water problem and try to keep it a secret. The wildlife and beautiful scenery is being totally destroyed to make room for ugly California-style developments. The price of homes make it impossible for for young families starting out to buy, and rent is even worse. So we will have our problem with homeless just as in California. It is not a paradise in any way, shape, or form. It is more paradise lost.

The most weather neutral place in the state is probably Cochise County (far southeast AZ), but not much of a job market in Sierra Vista or Bisbee or Benson or Willcox. If you have to work, you're best off moving to Phoenix like the rest of us

No water to spare in Northern Az. but the realtors hope you don't ask. In fact you can't even have a grass lawn,

@@AwesomeFlamingoX Have you visited Phoenix recently? Methadone clinics everywhere, meth addicts camping in parks and at fast food restaurants...alcohol flows like the Salt River of Old on Mill Ave and in Old Town Scottsdale...Downtown Gilbert and Chandler - and in far greater numbers than little ole Kingman.

Another exercise in boring, mundane nonsense. There are several forested areas in southern AZ, They are called Sky Islands. Catalinas, Rincons, Pinalenos (Mt. Graham) Santa Ritas, Huachucas, Chiricahuas.
