I looked admin leave in Texas , admin leave in Texas is only 32 hours and after that,until the investigation is done and over with and she is either cleared of any wrongdoing or found guilty, she is not paid and no pay until she is back to work. The school has the right to uphold the law and protect kids in school and that includes any form of abuse. Why should it be any different when the abuse came from a teacher

A 3rd Degree Felony Assault charge is WAY too nice. That is a CHILD. 2nd Degree, minimum. Im almost 73 years old, age is no excuse! The school systems are totally messed up, this poor child, probally has developed ptsd Im a domestic violence survivor, am a grown woman and I have ptsd, imagine being a 4 year old??!!! Of course he has changed, this makes me furious!!!!!

Unfortunately in this economy it’s hard to retire, but I hear you. She needs to just work partime at the library then. I’m pretty sure a preschool teacher makes around the same money in that position.

If she had done this to an adult it would be assault. This is absolutely disgusting. No doubt there are unfortunately many more people she has abused. Shame on her and those who uphold her deplorable behavior.

Thankfully, children are now being raised to understand their body is not for adults (besides parents) to slap/spank/whatever. They are allowed the same dignity as an adult, believe it or not. I know *a lot* of people disagree with that stance and it hurts my heart

What exactly does that look like? it's unfair to judge someone who has not even been given a chance to tell their side of the story. Also a slap on the buttocks might not be the best disciplinary action, but to call it "abuse" is a stretch too far. Since you believe that someone's looks dictates the way they approach a certain situation such as "abuse" would you mind looking up Chandler Halderson? Based on his "good looks" do you believe he would have done what he was found guilty of doing? It's unfair to judge a book by its cover.

Because most likely their feelings towards this kid mirrors hers …👀Think about it…. They had the video on file and chose to do absolutely nothing about it AND chose to keep her there to carry on with the abuse. ..They cared absolutely nothing for this child. And I hate to say it, but I will… There’s absolutely NO WAY she would have been allowed to continue had this child been a blonde haired blue eyed little girl.

Looks can be deceiving! A lot of parents are in disbelief when they find out how their little kiddos really behave at school. So many parents are in denial about their kids' unruly and disruptive behavior until they see it for themselves. I say this as an educator. Some of them are wild and they will test you!!

This is awful!! Allen ISD isn’t any better! Something very similar happened to my grandchild and nothing will done about it! She came home with injuries from a teacher and my daughter was told “the injuries wasn’t severe enough to press charges” unbelievable!!! We are exploring other options for my grandchild to receive justice! Prayers for your child 🙏🏽

Not true. She shouldn't be working with them because she's an abusive POS. I'm so sick of the ageism I see these days. Just because someone is older, doesn't mean they can't be amazing teachers - regardless of the child's age. (How many grandparents are raising their kid's babies these days? Way too many.)

Thank you. As the father all I want to do is hug my 3 sons and kiss on them everyday. I don't want this to happen again. I don't want this to happen to anyone else's child and I'll do my best in the future to make sure that it never happens again or at least I'll be on the side of those fighting against people who are a threat to children. If I was the parents, I would sit my son down and ask him how many other students this has happened to. Get a list of names going, contact those parents, and get a civil lawsuit going against that teacher, school, and school district since they’re really not doing anything about it. If she easily treated their son that way then that means that she has done it to other students too.

Either this is racially motivated or she’s doing that to other students whose parents aren’t aware. Either way she should be sued, fired and jailed. Schools don’t take bullying seriously so I’m not surprised this school didn’t take assa8ulting seriously.

When it’s white on another race especially black is ALWAYS “racially motivated”. There’s no proof this was a hate crime. Also if it’s black on white or another race in white it’s never “racially motivated” when there’s literally tons of black people in tik tok shouting about how much they hate white people. And yet that’s okay. Crazy. Racism is racism.

How would you even come to the conclusion that it's potentially motivated by race? Just curious.

This is why parents should be dropping in unannounced in classrooms and at schools on a frequent basis. There has to be oversight! definitely sue the teacher and the school and the school district. And then get your kids OUT of public schools!

I seriously hope this woman doesn't have kids or grandkids.....

She most likely does.. I was raised by my grandmother and she horrifically absued me.

She just traumatized that poor child for life. She should get to spend the rest of her life in jail. I wondwr how many other students suffered abuse from her.

I wonder will the governor pardon her if she’s convicted 🤔

Wow. No no no. I worked as a teacher in daycare for thirty years. Yes we get frustrated with a child’s behavior but never ever lay a hand on a child. Yes you can speak to that child in a firm manner or put that child in a time away from activities but you do not ever smack or handle that child in a rough physical way. Wow she should have been let go right there and then. I’m wondering if this incident was witnessed by another teacher who was working in the room with her. If that person was the one who reported this burnt out other teacher. Me thinks it’s time for her to retire

I’m surprised and happy someone notified the parents. I remember and witnessed this type child abuse in my elementary school when I was growing up😢

Linda Dueer was a long term classroom teacher with disciplinary tactics, such as, corporal punishment. Those kids were probably scared of Ms. Dueer because she was the oldest teacher in the school.

She needs to be punished, I don't know if jail is the answer. Definitely sue everybody.

This isn’t the first time. She felt comfortable and has been doing crap like this for a long time. Most children that young can’t tell you exactly how their day went. Jail!!!!! School needs to also be investigated. What else do they just let happen with no consequences.
