Not true, those are just a different contractor. Contractors had different labels on every package that was produced. We saw that same package in 13' in FT Drum while training up with 10th Mt. Every base may not have the same run as say Bliss would compare to Drum or JBLMC. They cycle in and out with contractor time or once it ends.

Korean meal portions are usually big tho in both north and south korea, mainly cuz the food isnt high calorie, so they have loads of big bowls and tons of smaller plates and bowls laid out on a table, sometimes just to make it seem like they have loads of food even tho its not really as much

  • @natsume-hime2473

@@xXxSkyViperxXx I wouldn't say there are big meal portions in North Korea, because mass starvation is common and most average folk are malnourished. Only the lucky elite living in Pyongyang ever get decent sized meals. Also South Korea has plenty of calorie dense foods, especially since their main side dish is rice and the carb load of that is pretty substantial. Never mind all the food types they've imported and copied from American influence alone. South Korea isn't some Podunk back water of a third world country, they're pretty a sophisticated industrialized nation and they eat pretty well. Unlike their kin to the north.

you also seem to forget that the military is WAY WAY more active than citizens, which means they burn off way more calories and quickly too, which means they NEED substance, and larger portions... Dawyne 'the rock' Johnson eats 6000 calories a day... why? Because he works out so much that he needs extra calories... People don't realize this... it's not the food itself or the portions but it's the intake vs outtake of calories... AND your metabolism.

My husband was a US Army medic. They do make the MRE’s in a relatively broad range of tastes. He always enjoyed the chicken ones but most of the soldiers preferred the beef ones. It’s not considered ideal to eat them for more than 24 hours. They ARE calorie dense, and designed to make you not poo! If possible they ship in real food even if it’s just dropped off. The thing that a;ways got to me was the quality of the produce they sent them. My husband would bring home everyone’s fruit they didn’t eat (when on exercises) and it was like something you’d get from Harry and David’s.

That they still made to somehow look like a patty! This was also before they came out with the heat-packs so every meal was cold unless you were in a position where you could get hot water. The C-Rats you punched a hole or 2 in the main meal with your trusty P-38, stuck it back in the box and set it on fire. Heated to perfection! And don't get me started on the fights that would break out over a Pound cake and Fruit cocktail! I saw many a guy get cut over the syrup alone! Good time! Good times......

I'm very happy that both of you are making a good transition...There is still much to learn I think. Thank you for the videos of your impressions and keeping an open mind... Other than the advanced high tech weaponry and machines, I think you would be surprised at how different service members are treated compared to NK. My experience in the US Army was some of the best times in my life....I went to different training schools and learned so many different skills, opportunities to go to other countries, and after service time, I received a low-cost education and got so many veteran's benefits. Military life isn't for everyone, but I was proud to serve and I believe I was treated more than well. Now please go try some American BBQ (Texas, Louisana, Kentucky, so many styles to choose from!)
