The view from the mountain top to overlook the seaport of Vladivostok was breath-taking. It's as if you're on top of the world. You can't find that in Moscow! What a wonderful adventure, Lisa! 🙂
Love those wooden homes and old buildings! Sailing clear waters! The fog rolling in to the 'lego land' of the working port! Love how you describe what you see! Enjoy the footpaths and wildflowers, because your dacha country seems to be modernizing very quickly.

Hi Lisa! Those Russian Dachas im expensive neighborhoods is exactly like here in America when people dont want to sell their Lands, Farms and/ or Homes to Developers looking to buildout new communities. They also try using something called Imminent Domain to force consfication at times. From Los Angeles, With Love👌💛

Dont let anyone or anything ever bring you down!!! your an amazing, beautiful and unique person in your own way no matter what anyone thinks! Start everyday with a new hope, leave bad memories behind and have faith for a better tomorrow. Some people make your life better by walking into it, while other people will make your life better by simply walking out of it.

I will explain the significant difference between Russia and abroad. Suburbs in almost all cities of Russia are now growth zones: it is here that new buildings, entertainment centers, forest parks, cottage settlements of a modern type (individual residential business class), etc. In the center, you can still find "huts" for demolition (they often no longer live there, but wait for particularly profitable redemption payments, because there is usually a new municipal development planned according to the General Plan, and people receive a lot of money (land in the center is expensive). But since all the revival of Russia began only in 2010 (when national projects were launched, before that the country barely survived in the 90s and recovered from the nightmare in the next 10 years, also solving the problem with the Wahhabi rebellion) - therefore, work is in full swing (and is gaining momentum: more housing is already being built than at the maximum of the RSFSR in 1990)

I will tell you about Chicago's Chinatown. The Chinese came to America to work on the railroads. Chicago's Chinatown dates back to the 1890's It became mafia controlled in the 1920's They were arrested in the late 1960's and it was mostly honest after that. In the early 1970's downtown grew into Chinatown and it was decided to move it. The most successful Chinese man in Chicago was Jimmy Wong and he studied where it should move and was put in charge. China town moved to Armor Square Chicago. Which had been German, polish and Italian. So this was 1970's It did very well and more than doubled in size Boom was about late 1970's-2010 I do not know of a "North Korean" restaurant in Chicago We have south Korean American style. American style Chinese food might go back as far as the 1860's The Chinese chefs in San Francisco were excellent chefs. They reworked old traditional Chinese recipes and added spices. Chicago's Chinatown has dragons etched on the sidewalks and dragon street lights

Hello Lisa. Thanks you again for another excellent video. It is so much fun to see other places and compare them to what we are accustomed to seeing. It looks like Vladivostok compares a little to our San Francisco I think. I wonder what Vladivostok will look like during the winter. I figured that it will be very cold. Lisa, it was awesome getting to see the old and the new side by side there in Vladivostok. It's great to see that the city is continuing to grow and modernize. The view from the top of that hill was incredible and I loved your use of the term "Lego Land" to describe the container yard. It looks like such an interesting city, and it was cool that you showed us where you wanted to live. You have to admit, it would be an incredible view. So now a question for you. Now that you know both Moscow and Vladivostok, what is one thing you wish Vladivostok had that Moscow has? It will be interesting to hear your answer. I hope you're enjoying the time with your family and getting to see lots of cool stuff there! Take care and keep smiling!
Hi Lisa!
I like what I see ….Thanks for sharing Lisa …..one day I will visit Valdivostok looks like a real cool ……Alex🇬🇷
There is a place in Kew Gardens NY, where a single old house is surrounded with modern condo buildings... it looks surreal. I guess the owner refused to sell or something.
Thank you for sharing this video Lisa. Vladivostok may be a nice place to visit, but it's not for me to live in. It's too boring, really but interesting though. Some places are pretty with beautiful sights. Was it orange juice you said you had in your coffee? Interesting, I'd like to try it. Also, what is the cost of living there since it seems like there probably isn't many job opportunities. Thanks again Lisa and take care.

Hi Lisa; I liked your choice of music for “Lego-land;" we don’t have a North Korean restaurant in the nearest town, but there are certainly North Korean People in California; years ago I used to buy North Korean ginseng ("A Kaesong Specialty," it was the highest quality for the price) from an Asian herb store in Southern California, and they always wrapped the tins with North Korean newspapers for shipping; I still have a couple tins stashed away.
👍🏻

"Eli from Russia" was in this or similar North Korean restaurant in Vladivostok, and was also not allowed.. .. You should search on youtube and maybe interview or business opportunity by helping dealing on translation, to all those moving to Russia (that have youtube channels).. a simple search for "first impressions in Russia", or " moved to Russia" or so, will help find those people, like american, australian, scotish, british, canadian, etc who moved recently.. ..

@@lisa_with_love because our governments do not obey their kind, inventive, friendly people and use our taxes for wars nobody wants instead of common projects like roads and museums. OMG if I ate all that food I wouldn't be able to walk! It's nice they have a variety of cuisine there from Asia, and it's funny seeing you out of your comfort zone but if you're that nervous about eating at a Korean restaurant you probably shouldn't go there especially if it would prevent you from coming here, it would be kind of cool to have you visit.
Well I am in San Francisco and I have a Boat (capable of such trip) I think it would take about 2-3 months to sail there. Must sail in a great circle Hawaii then to south Asia and then north.

What a beautiful video, LIsa. That was interesting to see inside the North Korean restaurant. You are so clever, you can even tell the difference between North Korean and South Korean languages, I just thought they all spoke Korean. Perhaps it was a bad omen that the didn't let you film there. I don't want to worry you, but I wonder what it would be like if you were filming in North Korea itself. But maybe my fears are down to western propaganda, they tell us things that aren't true about Russia and Russians as well.
Lisa, thank you for showing us part of Vladivostok and the view down over the harbor. I would never go to North Korea. I saw enough videos of North Korea and it was not interesting.

Vladivostook is like San Francisco of the far East with much more potential in the future than SF which is on the decline. I would say in one generation this will be one of the most desirable place to live in East Asia. I absolutely love the old wooden houses in traditional architecture.
Thanks Lisa. I am Chinese American lives in the US, but I was born in Harbin. That city has a history relating to Russians, Koreans and Japanese ... Here in Texas USA, there are Koreans but they came from the South. Very few North Koreans can escape to the west. Putin wants more trade with China under "unlimited friendship" with China. So Vladivostok has a bright future economically. There were historical border issues, but Putin's spokeswoman said there is no border issue. I think she meant on the ground, Chinese and Russians live peacefully along the border.
