North Korea's NEW Tank is a Nightmare | Task & Purpose | History Teacher Reacts
Mr. Terry's first reaction to Task & Purpose shows North Korea's NEW tank. With all kinds of superior tech(?) on it, will it be a top tank in the world? Mr. Terry also gets to talk about the history of North Korea throughout the video.

Please react to Lazerpigs Video to the T-14 Armata. It has some Minor Fails (most meanwhile fixed in the Video), but is all Around very Informative, very Entertaining and very good Researched. And it explains not only the T-14 Armata and older Russian Tanks, but automaticly similar Tanks like North-Korean or Indian. And much of the Technique behind it.

7:42 These are what's called "Potemkin Training". It's the army equivalent of a gorilla beating its chest. They don't serve any actual purpose other than to convince people who don't know any better how "manly and tough our soldiers are". It's meant to look impressive to people who don't know anything about military but doesn't do anything to prepare soldiers for actual combat. Ryan McBeth did a really good short video on it called "Why do Armies do Potemkin Training" that quickly explains it and why NATO doesn't do any of that.

Imagine being the crew to test the active defenses willing to take a tank killing round to test the defensive interceptor. It works you live if it fails just once you are dead. Much like the guy behind armourlite glass saying go ahead and unload a .50 cal machine gun on him.
Literally was watching the original video as i saw the notification for this. Youre a mind reader Mr. Terry
Reminds me of a clip I saw of a military parade for some small African state and the soldiers were wearing 'cardboard' power armour suits with a fake AFV driving behind them.

Been watching task & purpose since I think early into the invasion of Ukraine. He's definitely a good channel
WW1 and 2 - Fighterrs were often intercepeting bombers/other fighters. And the BRits had RADAR as well. A century of innovation later and yeah. Shields and armour were the first interceptors, in reality. A shield could hopefully deflect or stop all arrows shot, instead of hitting the body.

Task & Purpose has been around for years. A very good channel. Shows and gives details of various military gear and weapon systems.
To answer your question of if the features and weapons systems work on the m2020, it's North Korea. That should clear things up😅
If you want to deep dive on about the history of tanks, Simon Whistler has a video on his Megaprojects channel. It’s called “The tank: everything you need to know” and it’s about an hour long
I learned about this on NHK. It looks cool but it's not a tank for war but more of a training vehicle to know how to drive a tank.

I watched that T-34 movie and though some scenes were full of bull excrement it was fun to watch and actually the best scene according to me was the first battle in the winter.

Plz react to Sabaton. They are a heavy metal band from Sweden but the vast majority of their songs are in English. They focus on battles and wars, mainly the World Wars. The songs that not in English are in Swedish and are about the reign of Swedish monarch Carolus Rex and they have their own english versions.

Also, there needs to advanced sensors on this tank to recognize an incoming sabot round or drone bomb. The sensors then must send the data to an advanced high speed microprocessor for this tank to defensively react. I don’t believe these smart components are manufactured in North Korea. Ergo, this tank is a hodgepodge of stitched together tech.
Loved this episode. You can believe this tank is a prototype. Not fully functional.
11:45 T-34 is a modern Russian movie. It bad here too
You should check out 8 heroes from world war II
Another reason why you don't see ATGM's mounted is because modern tank rounds are extremely powerful and you don't need it unless you got bad ammo. Also ATGMs will blow up and noone needs explosions on the side of your tank

@@ericdpeerik3928All countries have adopted metric. The US, Myanmar, Liberia, UK, Antigua and Barbuda, and Saint Lucia are different from most in that they haven't forced it into all aspects yet. Myanmar began fully switching in 2013 and so far has switched road signs and temperatures. Liberia pledged to go fully metric in 2018. And to be blunt, most European countries have local units that are still in use that, like the US, are defined by metric units. This is just a petty argument about degree of compliance.
@ericdpeerik3928

@@Merennulli I can't speak for Myanmar (although I know they sell petrol per gallon and weigh in viss), but my kid goes to school in Liberia and he's clueless about the metric system. They don't teach it in school. There's a huge disconnect between the politicians and the real population. They use gallons, pounds and feet. They are sometimes "coincidentally metric", because the measurement "big bag of rice" is an imported rice bag that is 25 kilos standard. Ask a Liberian for 25 kilos of rice and they'll tell you "I sell only big bag of rice". Actual Liberians will more likely buy "a cup of rice", which is a specific cup you buy at the market, which is imported from China and is 500ml. It's coincidence, not actual metric system. The metric measurements they do have is mostly due to importing things. Americans only do calibre sizes in mm. Saying the USA uses metric is ridiculous. You don't go to Subway for a 30cm long sandwich or to McDonalds for a 113 gram with cheese. Have you ever checked the measurements at Starbucks? Tall (12 fl. oz.), Grande (16 fl. oz.), Venti (20 fl. oz.), Short (8 fl. oz. ), Trenta (30 fl. oz,). What part of that is metric? 😐

I'm not tolerating your rant. I literally said that those countries I listed off had not forced it into all aspects yet. But instead of reading that, you go on a ludicrous rant about how the PEOPLE of the countries aren't yet using them. And, no, the public using non-metric units is not the same as a country failing to adopt the metric system. Or do you feel Germany isn't on metric because they still use pfunds instead of 500 grams, or the meile at 7,520.54 meters? I get that it would be nice if we all used one system, but by law we all do. And that's the extent of what anyone has power over. You can no more force your barista to use metric than he can force you to accept the reality that metrication of a population is a process rather than a magic light switch. One that not even what you view as "metric" countries have fully completed.

I like Mr. Terry, but to be honest I watched this video because I have watched a lot more "Task and Purpose" and I really enjoy that channel. It brings a new perspective for me on the "review" video controversy and whether that should be counted as plagiarism, which is something that I would think Mr. Terry as a self-identified history teacher should appreciate. Obviously Mr. Terry adds historic context throughout so I am certainly not trying to criticize just kinda say "hmm...that's interesting". I wanted to see Mr. Terry's take on a channel that I already knew I liked and am subscribed to.
Its one of those "don't underestimate your enemies". Do i believe this tank is legit? Mmmm. No. However, you still have to keep the fact in the back of your mind, it possibly could be, so don't get caught on your back foot. Highly unlikely, as it is, it's still technically possible, so prepare for that possibility just in case.

When taking economics courses in college over 20 years ago, the professors used North Korea to show the concept of "guns and butter" and the consequences of investing too much in defense. It's very sad in 2024 they can still be used as a teaching tool in economics courses.

it just depends.... if they're getting tech from china it's possible(though highly unlikely) it could be the first Hybrid Mobile armor track/drive system. they could be building a tank that can literally be designed for hit and run tactics. Which he with the fastest tanks win. it could be the fastest tank if the North Koreans actually used available technology properly. there's just no telling. it is looking like the more he shows other modern tanks like they took a body and Frankensteined a tank together. That's the only thing I can think of the thing being semi practical. If the North Koren's figured out how to make a tank that can out run an Abrams then the Glorious leader gets to boast he has the best tank until it gets bombed out of existence.

Lets give them this hypothetical. They probably have a high tech tank. That we had 30-40 years ago. Unlike China, Russia, and NK, we actually update the Hardware and software of our Tech. Like when China released there new "stealth bomber" yea they have a new bomber. Bit its as high tech as shit we had 30-40 years ago. It's why Ukraine bodied almost all of Russias Forces during the "special military operation" the old Commie/Soviet states dont have anything actually worth while thats hightech.

Irritating video because most of the time the General or the Captain or however the Flock he is, keep talking over the other guy and doesn't have sense enough to pause the video, plus he sounds like Richard Simmons.
This tank is nothing to fear, it’s a 4 man tank which the video missed claimed as a 3 man tank, my reasoning behind the 4 man claim is the tank sight system ie: Commander top left, Gunner bottom left and Loader top right, if it was a 3 man tank the Gunner would be on the right, also I do not believe the tank actually has proper armour seeing as the APS (active protection system) cuts into the turret face where composite armour would usually be.
