North Korea Can Steal Your Bitcoin, and There's Nothing You Can Do About It🎙Ep. 119: Hot Wallets
Ғылым және технология
If you own cryptocurrency on an exchange, it's only as safe as the employees at that company. If they get phished or hacked, say goodbye to your Bitcoin. North Korean agents have gotten VERY good at stealing hundreds of millions of dollars worth of crypto this way.
Journalist Geoff White walks us through these devious and damaging heists that make old school bank robberies look like child's play.

So they must not use Monero very much because there's not as much liquidity in it I don't understand that though why they just keep mixing the Bitcoins instead of just going straight into Monero taking the loss and then going out
They should steal it back then... In fact, it should be fair game and law enforcement should put these at the very bottom of the list of ones to investigate.
Sounds like you had a little trouble getting "Reservoir Doge" out 😂😂😂. Don't worry it made me lol

Jack were you eating chocolates in the beginning of this episode again? Lol
The weirdest thing happened to a few of us in a math class for electrical workers around 2011. Those of us with Verizon phones lost all our contacts. Some classmates that were quitting to become protesters thought it was funny that Sears collapsed as bitcoin rose up. There was something so odd about it all I switched carriers. That was going to become one of the hardest years of my life going from productive worker to getting very, very sick. A few of us would get dizzy but shake it off and go back to work right?.. I believe that was the first time I ever heard of bitcoin and how some thought it caused more harm than good. I'm neutral about it. One last edit I guess. Just a few months later my back gave out and I woke up with numb arms and legs and itchy skin. I was only 29 and my legs stopped working right. I had to learn to walk again and I spent my 30th birthday limping with a cane and waiting for health insurance. What a career choice...
45s into an upload and 4 comments already, damn jack

@dandewsirbello nah your never to old. I'm 32 and I was eager to learn everything until my early 20s a couple things happened and I started doubting myself and putting myself down. Recently started trying to change it. I've known older people learn new things in they're 50s like fixing ACs or other great skills. Don't give up it can seem hard at first but once you get that moment of clarity it'll get easier

Technically with enough computing power, you can brute force your way to obtain all the private keys to any address because the algorithm is known and there is a finite set of key pairs available. The question is, who is willing to invest in the storage of all those key pairs and the compute power to generate them?
@dendrites
3 ай бұрын
afaik brute force attacks on a Bitcoin private key are as close to mathematically impossible as it gets. A private key is a number between one and 2²⁵⁶, making the search for the right number between one and 115 quattuorvigintillion

This guy's accent for some reason bugs the crap out of me. It reminds me of the TV show Archer, where there was one stuffy posh bad guy that always talked with that stuffy tone and it just reminds me of that and this guy just comes off as being a a******. Lol. And it sounds like he's got a paper clip over his nose release talking lol. But then also the question asked how much was stolen he starts going in about well the money at the time we don't know but it was this much at that time but now it's worth this much that's any situation with money that's been robbed when you just for inflation and everything else the value of what was stolen goes up and down the question was how much was stolen at the time pretty simple answer to a pretty simple question but no he had to complicate it and make it all stuffy and pompous
