I've taught a few clinics this year in preparation for these auditions so I decided to upload this recording to provide younger players with a guide on how a professional tubist may approach it. This is by no means a perfect recording or take, but hopefully it can serve as a strong guide.

I have a suggestion as a tuba player, try to keep your cheeks tight and dont blow them up.

He sounds worse because of his recording equipment, you can hear he has very bright dark tone but that tone is ruined by whatever he recorded on, I have had to deal with the exact same thing so Its easy to tell why he sounds very tight even though hes a professional.
