Three years - three months - three trips - now we show the best. One of the longest timelapses perhaps - we call it the EPIC :) And that was the trip. More than 10.000 km each year - a great mix of landscapes and cityscapes - absolutely amazing!

This time it is a 4K Timelapse of USA and Canada - in UHD - The next journey started … and it is 8K time-lapse!
Many thanks to all of you for supporting this project - not with money - but for building such great hard- and software! Thanks to @emotimo and @dynamicperception for your great time-lapse tools. Thank you to Canon - your 5D MK II and 5D MK III have done more than 100.000 pictures for that timelapse journey through North America. Lenses used are the Canon EOS 24-70mm 2.8 and 24-70 2.8 II, 100mm 2.8 macro and 70-200mm 2.8 II and the Samyang 14mm 2.8. We used Lightroom and especially LR Timelapse for postproduction (V4 rescued the opening sequence!). Final editing with Adobe Premiere Pro. Title design with Adobe After Effects.

Magic! The 21:9 aspect ratio was the best part of it!
Absolutely amazing and breathtaking filming work! North America is full of so many natural wonders to explore. I love that you included Mount Rainier National Park. Washington state, along with Mt. Rainier, is in my opinion the most beautiful place in the lower 48. And Canada, of course, is filled with it's own natural wonders such as Banff National Park and the Coast Range. Drone films are right up there along with timelapses; and, is one of my favorite types of films.

Chicago is a treasure! The best city in the U.S. in my opinion. But hey guys, before you comment about crime and all that stuff... I focus on the beauty of Chicago. The architecture is fantastic, the parks are pure art. When winter comes the city is splendorous. Damn, I should definitely make a list and write all the things that I love about Chicago!

The juxtaposition of moving between smoggy LA looking like an early Cyberpunk 2077 and the beauty of the national parks is incredible. Not many videomakers that would cut these clips together like this, very interesting. Makes you think about what is truly more beautiful or impressive... Thank you for sharing Mr. Soethje.

I like your Chicago footage, which you have a lot of. How did you get your locations in the big cities? Did you have access to certain rooftops?

Stunning 4K time lapse of city and nature! Did you shoot in RAW image? Any gimbal used in the ferry shot?
Whoa! You killed it with the San Francisco trolley car onboard footage. Also driving through Golden Gate Bridge would be my n1 thing to do if I ever visit the states. Great footage overall.

MimM nah, while San Fransisco is beautiful, no one can deny that, and the Golden Gate bridge is a marvel, Chicago will always be the #1 place to go in the US. Why? We have the most diverse architecture on the planet. We have old buildings and new buildings. It's like if you grabbed one building from every city and turned it into a city. Don't be fooled by our size, we might as well be the most beautiful city in the US. (yes, even more beautiful than NYC) In the heart of the loop, you get that urban feel, with massive skyscrapers like the Willis tower, and apartment complexes. Further up north, you have all the nature preserves surrounded by beautiful big houses. Down south you get the suburban feel of run down buildings and if you venture a bit more south, there are fields and farmland. We have had the greatest architects in history, from Fazlur Khan, who mainly focused on tall skyscrapers to Frank Lloyd Wright, who focused on simpler things like houses. I highly encourage you to research Chicago, because you'll find some pretty awesome things about this underated city.

Alex The Chicagoan Chicago seems cool, but I personally prefer Los Angeles and Dallas. They're much newer, spread out, and open feeling. Los Angeles has the huge open highways, Palm trees, big new homes, beaches, perfect weather, laid-back vibe, right by mountains, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Malibu, etc. Dallas also has huge open highways, cheaper, huge houses for lower costs, awesome food, big cars and trucks, very suburban and new, very spread out, and an LA type vibe. I just love the suburban feel, and not Chicago's suburban. I mean the huge, new, open, nice kind of suburban. Nice big neighbourhoods with huge new houses everywhere, etc.

Isaac Detherage well, that's up to opinion. If you like LA better, that's fine, but I prefer Chicago. In every single list of the top 10 most beautiful cities in the US, Chicago is number 1. Why? We have the most diverse architecture of any city on Earth. We have old style architecture like the Wrigley Building and the Tribune Tower, and modern architecture like the Willis Tower and the John Hancock Center. I highly encourage you to come here. Some people call Chicago modern day Venice because the entire loop area is really one huge island since the Chicago River (which is the only river on Earth to flow backwards) surrounds the entire area. Downtown Chicago has more tall buildings than even NYC. Our cityscape is the most beautiful of any city. Downtown in the loop, you get that urban feel, with tall skyscrapers and apartments everywhere. Further north, you get a suburban feel with big beautiful homes right next to nature preserves and lots of nature. Down south you have our "shithole" all the haters talk about with crime. Further south, it's more rural with big farmlands and lots of fields. This makes Chicago a super diverse city with lots of options on where to live, whether you like the urban feel, suburban, or rural, Chicago has it all. In the summer, Chicago's pretty hot, and in the winter, we have snow! Something not even LA has. Not even this video does Chicago Justice, as there are TONS of beautiful aerial drone videos of Chicago that show it's beauty, like Soaring Badger, which is a KZread channel that does lots of drone videos of Chicago and other videos. Trust me, LA is not as beautiful as Chicago, and I've been to all three cities, LA, NYC, and Chicago.

Alex The Chicagoan I've seen, and even searched online myself for homes in Chicago just because I'm curious what I could afford, and I don't like the styles of Chicago as much. What I do LOVE about Chicago though, is the awesome skyline. It's like NYC's skyline, but prettier. Not as crowded together. I love it. If I want to have a business job or live downtown in a tower, I'd love Chicago. If I want a nice house, yard, family, close to the Ocean, close to mountains where it snows, close to deserts, etc then I would love LA. They both seem awesome, I just prefer the newer LA style, and the homes in LA. Chicago would be AMAZING for downtown living though.
My God this looks amazing on my Xperia 1. Love this phone. Anyone that complains about 4k 21:9 ratio is out of there mind.

Banff National Park has some of the most beautiful scenery in the North American Rockies.
Great shots. Terrific views. I only wish the camera could have spent a little more time on some of the locations. I esp like the views of the natural places: the national parks, rivers, lakes, deserts, forests, mountains and shorelines. I live in Las Vegas.
