I love the way Norman Lloyd still has that old time British American like 1940s accent

It's a somewhat manufactured accent or at least intentionally adopted by actors and studios. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mid-Atlantic_accent

Rest in peace...Mr. Lloyd we will miss your talent that you showed for over 106 years of your long blessed life that you had in movies... theater...television a true gentleman that knew how to be humble and down to earth with all people.. of all walks of life. sadly...they don't make them of that high caliber of character much anymore in Hollywood any more.
Passed away last month as of writing this: he was going on his 107th year (just a few months away from making it round). His mind was still strong until his last. What a life he had. RIP
Full of energy even in his 100s
Thank you Hollywood Reporter for brining legends back to my ignorant new generation to appreciate!
He is now 106 and still going strong.

He was going strong until his last - his mind was still sharp and he could look back to his life, telling about it to people of today. RIP

We Love you, Norman Lloyd!
Rest in peace, sir.
What an amazing life he's had so far.
I really thought he was of Mayflower or Irish descent due to his mid-Atlantic accent and thought he had a stern, upper-crust upbringing. I would have never thought he was Jewish.
Living legend
Rest in peace FANTASTIC MAN!

You could offer me the chance to meet the biggest stars in Hollywood and I'd probably be totally indifferent. But a chance to meet this legend? I'd pay money for it.
What an amazing man, now 105 y.o . !

Just listen to how refined his way of talking is and compare it to people of today from the USA: really butchering the language these days.
To day 8 November 2020 106 years old wow
In St Elsewhere, his character's whole arc was coming to terms with his own mortality and yet he lived on for almost thirty years after the show ended.
He almost reminds me of Hitchcock... The way he speaks...

It's a transatlantic accent. Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn sounded the exact same way. Not many people alive sound like this, Mr. Lloyd is one of a dying breed.

Some comedians use profanity for emphasis and it works well, like Richard Pryor and George Carlin and Rodney Dangerfield. It doesn't work for women, unless you're Joan Rivers, and it sure doesn't work for Amy Schumer. She's just not funny.
