I had a weird incident years ago.....I was at my local folk club buying strings waiting at the register to be rang up......no one in store except I could hear someone playing the hell out of a mandolin......Norman Blake walks up to and says howdy.......he says....this little mandolin has a sweet spot right here......I was so star struck I probably came across as some idiot who had no idea who it was......I was speechless.......of course later I wished I would have hung out a little while but my wife was waiting in the car so I finally paid when the guy came out and took my money........he was surprised too.....he said "as I live and breath it's Norman Blake" a month later he asked if I knew who it was I said of course I have his mandolin instructional video!

Maybe I'm wrong; but,I have to think that "Sage Fields" is all Nancy as far as composition. I have always admired her for her sweet music and fun disposition. I've been playing SF on mandolin for years;it was cool to be able to play along with her on this video. I like to play it a bit slower! Saw Norman&Nancy play on the lawn at a college. Went up to ask them to autograph my case(and thank them for playing here). They were kind enough to help decorate my case with their signatures;AND,Nany wrote(printed),"Keep up with your music." And added a little musical note! THat has meant more to me through the years than she could ever know.

Norman was a studio musician in Nashville and toured with Johnny Cash for many years and is a master on anything with strings. Nancy also can play anything with strings is like the perfect partner with Norman.
