When I was 18 I had a similar experience with a girl I was totally in love with. After a summer of 'will they won't they' we finally got together. The next morning she told me that "maybe we shouldn't tell everyone about this", which I took to mean she regretted it. Broke my heart, but I did what I thought she wanted and backed off. A month later I was leaving to go to uni and I messaged her to essentially spill my heart out and tell her how sad I was about it - she wrote back saying that was never her intention and she just meant that we should keep it a secret for the time being, and that she thought I was the one who regretted it. We were both devastated and I thought about it/her for genuinely years afterwards. I still think about it occasionally and I'm 35, married with a kid. What could have been? We'll never know. Insecure kids not knowing how to talk to each other openly - I learned a harsh lesson from it.

@@Jellyfishpinkk Ha, no need, my wife is the love of my life. I wasn't saying that I wish I could go back or that I still had feelings for the person in the story or anything like that - it was literally almost 20 years ago and I was a dumb teenager, I've had multiple long term partners since then. It was just a story about a missed opportunity that I regret(ted), and I only think about it occasionally because, well, who doesn't think about those sort of things sometimes?

@@antnybeard69 you still think about it “occasionally?” After 20 years and being with the love of your life? And even after having multiple relationships since then? That makes this even worse. Still having feelings of what if so deep into a relationship is just not a good thing, but even if you’re not the only one who has them. Very sad.

In this film, I don’t understand why Marianne so upset when Connell said he has new girlfriend?
@HelloGudbye93
5 ай бұрын
I think her crying was just from the weight of the confusing, unfair topsy turvy mixed signals he's repeatedly giving her. Until they cleared up the mixup, as far as she knows: she was finally blissfully happy with Connell then one night in July he pulls the rug out from under her and "breaks up" with her out of the blue, then he goes out of his way to reconnect and stay friends while repeatedly expressing jealousy about her new boyfriend. But then he drops the bomb that this entire time he's had a semi-serious girlfriend 🥴 that's just too much for anyone lol
