I've never watched the show but I thought I'd LOVE the book based on how much people hype it up and how good the show has looked from some of the clips I've watched. I read the book tho and it was rly disappointing. I was expecting a major emotional rollercoaster but I couldn't connect with either characters and I didn't even CRY and I always cry at books. EVEN WHEN I DISLIKE THE CHARACTERS I USUALLY CRY. Idk if it was her writing or what but it was very meh..

This edit is something else. I always thought that folklore was written for them but damn, this all too well thing... amazing. Congratulations, great job 😍

@@harshmeetkaur4988 I always felt like t’is the damn season was written about them, especially the scene where they both go back for Christmas and run into eachother at SuperValu

In my head cannon, they’ll meet again when older and wiser and more settled, after Marianne gets everything wonderful she deserves in life, and Connell has the courage to pursue her above all other desires. And in 15 years we can have a sequel with these two wonderful actors, and it’ll be glorious, kind of like the Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy trilogy.

I had a relationship kind of like them, it was the most beautiful and fun thing that has ever happened to me, but it was the most painful, maybe because you never knew where you stood with them, even though you knew you loved each other. I loved this show because I saw myself in both of them.

you are so sick for making this. you’re insane. WHO IS GOING TO PAY THE REPARATIONS FOR THE EMOTIONAL TRAUMA?!😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 (on a serious note: you’re really talented and a genius, i loved this!)

"maybe we got lost in translation" sums things up so well!

if they just ✨communicated✨ this show, after finishing i don’t think i can watch it again. hurts so much

this series ages beautifully. so well acted and definitely has rewatch value.

“Lost in translation” plays perfectly when she says she misunderstood him when he said let’s break up (he wanted her to ask him to stay at her place)

God this series tore something out of me and built something in its place. I had a "where do we stand" friendship like this with someone who is/was near and dear to my heart despite it never developing into something more :( We connected like we had known each other our whole lives. He kind of even looked like Connel, and a couple of people have said that i look like Daisy Jones. (What are the chances lol) But, after high school ended, we would hit each other up on and off via text but neither of us ever committed to seeing the other person irl. He would write "i miss you's" and i would respond, but then he would go mia. Sometimes i did too. I think we were both scared. Now too much time has passed and my feelings have slipped away. But...i think deep down, he will always be my first love. :( Nobody comforted me, understood me, joked with me, looked at me, talked with me the same way that he did. We just clicked. Perhaps we weren't meant to be anything more than platonic, and that's okay

This show pissed me off so much lol the miscommunication that tore them apart drove me crazy! So intense and romantic tho.

Loved this series , marianne and connell where so different but always made there way back to one another. They had there highs and lows and they had flaws. But its was a beautiful chemistry between them

I dated a girl for over 4 years and I took a leap in life and moved away for an amazing opportunity and she wasn’t able to join due to things at home, we both read the book and show and cried together countless times to the last episode. I come back every now and then to the last episode and it still hits me every time. I miss her and love her, and will forever. Thankyou for this

Absolutely perfect. The wonderful song captures the mood and emotion of the show so well, and the clips are so well chosen.

The part from 4:15 was just so beautifully edited and heart-wrenching. The combination of the words Connell is saying, matched with the music, and Marianne's soulful eyes at 4:24 is deeply moving. Thank you.

LOVE and HATED this book and series. Been married 25 years and a few failed relationships before I can tell you and anyone who has been in a relationship can relate the those moments when you feel like a total stranger to that person laying next to you who you think is all you live for. This story encapsulates that pretty well. Also the poor souls who get mixed in between fucked up toxic relationships, like collateral souls, love sucks, but who can live without?

This show messed me up, it is so beautiful and emotional. Such a good coming of age show.

i recommend also reading the book, is way darker and you get to view a little bit more of how each of their minds work. the book broke me down in million pieces and so did the series, it is by far one of my favorite books of all times. paul and daisy did the best job out there playing connell and marianne and portraying how complicated and real they are.

I wish there was more episodes of this I just love these two even though their story left me heartbroken for them 💔 I like to think they ended up together ♥️
