Actually, I’ve been using the „Honky Tonk Upright“ (which is basically a tack piano) on stage every time. It’s THE sound for People Are Strange by The Doors and LA Woman.

I`m not a piano or an organ player really but I need those sounds for composition sometimes and they are fun just to mess about with too and I find the selection on this unit fine. The Sample Synth section in the end though actually became my highlight overall, it`s dead simple to use with only a few parameters to tweak and it`s a great way to have loads of other very useable more real world and really old school type sounds, especially orchestration, without having to boot up a PC and trawl through all my fancy and complex Kontakt sample libraries to be able to get those sounds. I have the 73 semi weighted waterfall key version of this and that`s fine for me for everything in this overall granted that it`s used for all 3 sections which would in reality usually require different types of keybeds for the 3 sections from fully weighted sharper edged keys to no weighted waterfall keys ........... and so I thought that 73 waterfall semi weighted ones was a good compromise when having a go at all 3 sections of this epic keyboard

I have the 6D 73 and love the Wurli most - but then, I haven't got one. I do have a Rhodes Stage 73 though, and my arms ache so much after an average session, it's actually a real pita!

😱 oh no what have you started! Now you'll have to do a direct comparison of your vintage Rhodes to Nord's Rhodes/tines EP....then, when you've done that, you'll need to find a Wurli, drag it in, then do another direct comparison to Nord's Wurli/reed EP. Then get Lurch, from the Adams family (youuuu raaaang) to bring his harpsichord in and do another comparison. Are these ideas helpful? 🤣 You're welcome 👍 I'm exhausted just thinking about it 😴 Loved the video 💯👍

video amazing !!! what do you think about the keyboard action ? I really hesitate between 2 keyboards. first the yamaha ck 88 but 13 kg and the nord electro73. it s a second keybord for me only to carry for the scene. is it possible to play some jazz piano pieces or is it just for organ players ??

The Roland is very good but in a band situation the Nord Electro 6D really works fantastically. The sounds are all very dense and they don't evaporate when pitted against a real drum kit / Bass / Rock Guitar and sax. I've tried many makes and models and the Nord really does the job.

The piano sounds are quite good. It clearly is a wonderful instrument! Your review of the Nord 6 is more than sufficient. If the review peaks anyone's interest, then they should get their hands on one and try it for themselves. It sounds like a real quality keyboard, and yes, it's pricy. You get what you pay for, and it's in the same ballpark as the Hammond SK PRO series.

No offense meant, just an observation for the other fellow commenters and viewers, but your review seems very robotic or very early 2023 A.I.... lmao

Without the sustain pedal you won't get the sympathetic string resonance. You're missing a big part of the sound.

Welp, I just purchased it after finishing this video. The key action looks decent, I like how despite it being only semi-weighted (usually not the biggest fan), it still has lots of sensitivity detection. Additionally, I'm looking forward to having all those settings to mess with in a standalone setup. Been gigging for a few months now with a band that's rapidly growing and working hard to take themselves seriously. We're looking to tour next year with the help of a social media marketing agency leading up to it! That said, I was looking for something really really good and future-proof. I heard that this one is kind of annoying because you can't just plug in a flash drive, you have to literally go on a desktop and USB connect the two, which I find would get pretty old fast if that's the best way to change samples. I also worry about getting frustrated with the menu navigation when I don't have a PC nearby--but I definitely plan on reading this damn thing's user manual. Still, high hopes for this lil thing. It's nice and light, 20 lbs, and short, being a 73 key rather than an 88 key like my last one. I really hope this thing treats me right.

Sounded great all those pianos is surely a good option with all including the organ section, it depends how much you want spend , Nord isn't cheap.

Definitely not a nord, lmao. Start small, and build up. It feels good to start cheap and earn your way on up to upgrades. Spoken from a dude who's probably played on 20 different keyboards/pianos, half of them mine/my family's. When you level up slowly, experience life and keyboards, you really, truly appreciate what's good and what's not. And honestly you'll even have some respect for the cheaper ones, because people who have to play them have to work extra hard to make them sound good. It's all art.

It a bit of a miss on this review - you have missed so much that make the 6d special, given that most of the 6d tutorials have been removed I think we can assume a Electro 7 is on its way
