When Madam Noor Jehan ji sung this song she claimed it, infact any song or ghazal she sung she owned it. R. I. P 🎶❤️🙏🏼

I listen her so many times every day. But my thirst of listening her will never be fulfilled. The more I listen, the more I desire to listen her. What a divine, unique and heart touching voice has been given to her! She is simply the gift of the great ALLAH (SWT) for us. May great ALLAH (SWT) place her to the Jannatul Ferdous and shower rahmah and blessings to her. Also wish eternal peace of her departed soul to the almighty. Amin.

Very nice upload with pretty flowers as madam herself was. I wish someone has the live ghazal as watching Noor Jehan singing those beautiful verses with her elegance and lively expressions would be so much fun. Those are the attributes that other legendary singers lack completely. May Allah put her soul to eternal peace, Ameen.

It is written by Zia Jallandhari and the lyrics are: Dil hee dil mein sulag kay bujhay hum aur sahay ghum door hee door Tum say kaun si aas bandhi thi tum say rahay hum door hee door. Tum nay hum ko jab bhi dekha shukar ba'lab thay ya khaamosh Yun tou aksar roye lekin chup chup, kum kum, door hee door. Thanks for posting this ghazal and others by Noorjahan - this is out of the world. Asha-ji has also sung this (as noted by others) - but, the original is something else. My 2 cents anyways. Ashaji is a maestro in her own right and it was her tribute to Noorjehan - but somethings are best heard in original.

Madam g had the ability of catching the emotions with her singing magic.

You hit the bull's eye. Yes there is definately magical. It may be combination of adaegi, weighty voice, depth and technical perfection. Don't know for sure, but when you same ghazals by legend like Asha ji, everything you will find there except for that particular majic.

I just heard Ayesha jis which was sung beautifully BUT Madam Noor Jehan jis is on another level.!

I listened many time ASHA bhonsle's version , but noorjahan is best 😍😍😍

Asha Bhosle.....Nice try, but when I listened to Asha's version again she has gvien this ghazal the FILMY TREATMENT, she should have sung this with out too much effort, the extra sur were not needed, this was not a filmy sad song, MADAM N.JAHAN san this with the simplicity it deserved.

Dil Shah Asha ji’ version also lack the depth of voice that Noor Jehan has. The punch and feelings that is in Noor Jehan’s version is missing in Asha ji version.

@@AHR671 Agreed. But we must also learn to take disagreement in our stride. You have your take on the matter, I have mine. Besides, you have missed the point to a significant degree. Ashaji's reworking of the legendary Noor Jehan's PTV ghazals was a tribute, endorsed and lauded by the golden hearted Madam herself. When Ashaji sought her blessings over a telephone call from Mumbai to Lahore, a much moved Noor Jehan is reported to have said: "You may sing better than I". This demonstrates largesse besides revealing the mutual admiration and respect shared by the two great singers. Was it not Ashaji who once hailed Noor Jehan as "the greatest singer of her generation and all time"? Let us avoid odious comparisons and appreciate the spirit behind the noble endeavour. Not a cover version, mind you as is being touted by the ignorant few on KZread (and there is no personal slur over here) but a heartfelt tribute, coming from one of the highest echelons of India's singing hierarchy.
