Nonstop CHAOS in China As Alpine's MELTDOWN Reaches A New Low!

Sprint races get a lot of stick from fans and drivers but the action in Friday’s second session was non stop. A wet qualifying session made the fears about the track surface come true as the painted surface proved to be a massive mistake by the track owners but it made for fantastic viewing. The excitement of the session couldn’t mask the disappointment of a shockingly bad Alpine team whose massive upgrade package proved to be a complete failure. Today I’m going to check out the action packed first day of running at the Chinese Grand Prix and discuss the massive failure that was Alpine’s completely overhauled car, so don’t go anywhere.

Why would any self-professed race fan complain about a sprint, aka more racing? Sprint weekends -- especially now that the format has been optimized -- are fun as hell. All 3 days have something interesting going on.
Anyone remember Alpines arrogance when Piastri went to McLaren? Talking about how he chose wrong and they came out better off with Gasly… turns out Alpine were not a good choice. Which, tbh, is how it looked anyway. Alonso and Piastri literally running from them tells you something about the team structure and management.

Alpine HQ: So, what is our priority for the team? Also Alpine HQ: MOAR FRENCH! Genuinely, it seems they are more interested in packing as much Frenchness into the team as possible than actually performing.

Not “painted” surface. It’s a “sealer” made of bitumen. Basically it’s a thin layer of liquid asphalt. Stop calling it painted.

@@Quazi-moto The OP is wrong, actually. Paints usually dry or cure through evaporation. Some cure. Petroleum liquid laminates can be applied by "painting". Even if it has limestone or some other slurry mixed in. It's still painted. And sealers can be painted. You can seal surfaces with paint as long as the chemical suits the application. You people are effing clowns. Just give it up.

"not up to standard".....more that modern f1 cars aren't made to do anything in the rain and drivers/officials are absolutely terrified to do anything when it does, im genuinely surprised they didnt red flag the session.

Alpine/Renault should just sell the team to Andretti !! They could stay on as their engine supplier till 2028 when GM/Cadillac enters the sport. Im concerned that when FOM comes up with the new concord agreement that theyll change the grid from 12 teams bejng allowed to the current 10 teams only. Why the FOM is so set on keeping out one of the biggest names ever in Motorsports out of F1 is baffling ! Is it just european hate for anything American , except the fans dollars of course?!!? F1 has made it clear that they love making as much as possible of the American dollar from its fans. But in no way wants competition from a real American team and drivers. Who was the last competitive American driver ? Eddie Cheever ? Michael Andretti was the last to podium. But unfortunately that was his last race for McLaren , who basically ignored Andretti the whole season in a attempt to keep Senna on the team !!

Whatever advantage F1 is allowing Red Bull to exploit with Verstappen needs to stop. His car is at times over a second a lap faster than the field?? It really makes for boring racing. Its obvious he is sandbagging the car at times. Just silly.
