The context of 'Believe': It's set many years after the events of Halo 3 in a museum dedicated to the events of the war. That diarama is huge, 400 square feet, depicting a particularly brutal close-quarters fight between humanity and the covenant. They do live-action interviews with veterans from the battle as part of the museum bit too

Hey Hannah! The red line is a indicator where you are getting shot from. Helps if you are hard of hearing. Campaign is a military term that tabletop wargamers and later roleplayers adopted, eventually getting to video games. A campaign is a series of objectives, and consists of main and optional side objectives. In fantasy we call them quests in scifi missions, etc.

My personal recommendations are: Halo 3 ODST "We are ODST", Halo 3's "Starry Night", Halo Infinite's "Discover Hope", Halo Reach's "Deliver Hope" (my personal favorite) There are many good trailers and a lot of unique live actions in the series so it'll be fun to check them out ..... i also think you'd like the overall story these games have.... it's the duality of humanizing and emotionality of sacrifice and the struggle of humanity against impossible odds when following other characters and when following Master Chief it's about being the hero and hope for humanity that just lights a fire inside ... but i digress haha

I love how the Brutes at 8:35 holds the Human Rocket like a rifle just shows how strong they are. This is also the first Halo game where the Covenant or the Banished have used human weapons with the Banished using whatever they can to survive while the Covenant was alot more uniform. Some insight the Banished first appeared in Halo Wars 2 so this is the first game they'll be appearing in the main series of games. If you'd like to know more i would highly recommend watching the Halo Wars 2 cutscenes on KZread to give you an idea of the events before Halo Infinite. Halo 5 i guess as well but the story within that is Rise Of Skywalker level of bad so I'm so happy that more focus is being put on what happened in Halo Wars 2 while taking the overall plot of Halo 5 and using elements of that such as What happened to Cortana. There was also a massive battle which happened right before Halo Infinite that we know nothing about so I'm excited to learn about all this stuff as a fan of Halo. The game has many missions for you to play, missions grouped together form a campaign, a game can have 1 or more campaigns for example Starcraft II had 30 or so missions divided in 3 campaigns each for a different races (Humans, Zergs, Protoss)

5:10 "Campaign" in context for videogames is the "story mode" basically, quests and stuff are the individual missions IN the story mode! Hope this helps!

  • @b.c.2281

RE: Campaign: In short, yes, it's referring to the story of the game. Every Halo until now has had a very direct, linear narrative. In that context, the campaign is a series of "missions" that take you through the story arc of the game. You're more acting a part in a pre-defined story vs. something like an RPG where your actions may dictate one of many outcomes. "Quests" usually refer to stories within a larger overall game structure, they may be core story elements, or smaller self contained objectives that have less impact on the overall narrative (though good ones generally take the opportunity to tell interesting stories within stories, or expand on world-building). Edit: Clarity

This cinematic shows a more of a more... human side of the human/covenant war. It has live action interviews of retired UNSC soldier and the things they experienced in the war. Has the feel of those documentaries were the interview old war vets. Fair warning though, near the end it shows the Halo 3 believe cinematic you just watched in this video. So the Believe trailer was one of the big adverts Bungie put out for the giant hype train that was the release of Halo 3. However, there was also a small series of live action short videos that are bundled together and titled Halo Landfall that are very well done and lend a lot of credence to the idea of a live action Halo movie or series being successful. If you said that you would only react to one more thing related to Halo, I'd recommend that. For something that was actually put together in late 2007, it holds up real well.

Halo 3 was…something special. “Believe” was just a one word slogan, but it was the only word needed. It summed up everything about the game: belief in the human spirit, belief in the strength of unity, belief in ourselves and each other. They took time with it, they took care with it, crafting not only things in the virtual world, but the real world as well, giving models and props that special human touch, with orchestral and opera pieces to stir the soul to all corners of human emotion. All this, all that attention to our own humanity, in a story where the main character had most of his humanity stripped away, in order that the rest of us would still have ours once we no longer needed people like him to defend it. Yes, it’s about aliens and spaceships and giant space stations, but that was always the background of the tapestry for these stories; in the end, it’s humanity, front and center, always humanity. That’s what makes Halo special.

Borderlands, Borderlands 2, Borderlands the pre-sequel (between 1 and 2), and Borderlands 3. You should watch the opening cinematic for each in that order. It doesn't really give story as much as introduce the characters, but it is an important part of setting the tone for the games. Addendum: Also the Borderlands 2 Doomsday trailer, and anything related to Tiny Tina is gold.

In regards to the Campaign vs Quest. A campaign is considered to be the story that is being told from the beginning to end of the game and is made up by a series of quests and/or missions that leads you through the campaign. One set of trailers I would highly recommend is from a game call Frostpunk and it's upcoming sequel Frostpunk 2. It is a bleak but intense story that I feel like you would enjoy seeing the trailers for.

The red line you saw in the gameplay section was a damage indicator, spinning around your cross hairs to indicate which direction the damage came from. It's like shorthand for "you're being attacked, bad dudes in this general direction." I kind of forget sometimes how much of the "language" of games is something learned across too many titles that when you see the end product of iteration on iteration, series on series, it's a bit confusing without having been present at some point at the beginning or in the middle. I guess one of the first things you learn is that light usually signifies the direction you want to go to progress, and that behind most waterfalls are goodies. Iterated upon iteration, stuff like directional damage indicators happen, or silhouetting enemies to give an indication of which deserves your attention first.

  • @nickthelot

So Believe was made as part of an ad campaign for Halo 3 that was live action. The idea behind it was that after the end of the war depicted in the Halo games they were opening a museum dedicated to the war and the veterans of it, they did 'interviews' with people playing the vets telling stories about them fighting alongside the Master Chief and what happened to him, and Believe is showing off the big diorama that was meant to be the centerpiece of the museum. The interviews allude a lot to the fact that Master Chief went missing and was never seen again after the war but some of the believe he survived, so him moving and the tag line 'Believe' was meant to represent the fact that he makes it through. The irony is, the sub plot of the game about him getting captured and escaping execution that's depicted in the diorama actually ended up getting cut from the final game to make the plot flow better.

Something I didn't see anyone else mention: the song in "Lightbringers" is the same melody as the theme music for the franchise. I thought that was cool. Also, regarding your computer: depending on what went wrong, you might be able to replace an individual part rather than the whole thing, which would probably be a lot less expensive. Of course, if you were looking to upgrade anyway, then it would still be worth investing in a new unit. If you go that route, I would recommend getting a desktop if you're not using one already; it's a lot easier to replace or upgrade the components that way if you want to.

Campaigns can generally be considered as the singleplayer story experience in most gaming contexts :) That little red line is a directional indicator for incoming damage. imagine a clock , 12oclock is right in front of you 6 oclock right behind you. in that example the player was taking hits from somewhere towards the rightish of where they are currently facing. A lot of games use this mechanic, some games choose to display it on the edge of the screen, others in the center like here. I prefer the edge as it feels more natural to me and I can tell the direction of fire and react more quickly.

Typically in video games- the red splash (the red bits you weren't sure of) will indicate where damage is coming from- if you are getting shot, if you are taking damage from landing, if something explodes near you and you are taking damage from that. It might not be that way in Halo (never played it, so not sure-) but I'd guess as much from what is going on around the player :) hope that helps :D

the Red line is a hit indictor. it means something has hurt you from vaguely that direction. As you can imagine, as cool as you can be in a video game there are "limits" in real life the time it takes to react to touch or feelings across your body are a lot faster IRL (thanks evolution) so getting killed by being shot in the back because to didn't know you took damage from that way sucks. most shooters have hit indictors because of the natural of ranged weapons being able to kill you without being (sometimes) seen.

Ex: red line on top means the bullet that hit you came from in front of you, the bottom means from behind,etc... In lots of games that have a single player and multi player element, 'campaign' refers to the single player storyline, as opposed to the multiplayer which usually doesn't have a story at all. I think the Halo multiplayer has a small story explaining why it's happening, but no story playing out as you play. 'Campaign' can usually be swapped out for 'story' and have the same meaning.

I like to compare the terms we gamers use with books. Quest or mission would be like a chapter. Smaller bits that might sum up a smaller story. Campaign would be a series of quests that come together like a whole book. Although quest can be interchangeable with the end goal. Like the fellowship's quest to get rid of the ring in Lord of the Rings. Series would be how all those campaigns fit together to tell an overarching story like a series of books. For example, Halo 1, 2, and 3 are know as a trilogy that sums up a story even though there are more games in the Halo series that came out after. The devolopers, or authors, changed hands from Bungie to 343 Inustries. So the story has been continued, but it isn't by the original story tellers. There also are side campaigns too. Halo 3 ODST is an example. It takes place during Halo 3 from a different perspective with alternate characters. One of which is played by, and has the likeness of, Nathan Fillion. The same character shows up again in Halo 5. His name is Buck.

Campaign in context of games refers to the story, but usually the word “campaign” itself is used for military/first person shooters since that is usually the technical term for prolonged military operations. Most other times games will just refer to it as a “story mode”.

Yeah, the live action stuff is great and a throwback to the old believe ads from Halo 3. They're not only great for people like yourself, but hits the nostalgia trip for those old people like us who were into the old Halo's :). The Believe ad you saw was the diorama one (which is actually the last one in progression), but was basically part of these..... Live action one (one of many) kzread.info/dash/bejne/hYBl1Nevmr3afMo.html And someone compiled them all, but the quality isn't the best: kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZmSextKzotOvoNY.html Essentially all of the Become ones are reminding us of the above. And yeah, they try to be emotional.

The "believe" trailers are a small group of videos of veterans from the war. They speak about how they lived during the invasion, and how Master Chief "died" during those days.

"Campaign" in this context just distinguishes the main, story-driven part of the game from other modes that might also be included, such as multiplayer or more arcade-like game modes. A lot of games ship with these alternate modes, however many might just have one large single-player campaign, some are multiplayer only, some might be cooperative focused and others combine their entire game into one big open world experience, ect...

In games like Halo that have both a single player story and multiplayer matches that have no story, campaign is usually the word they use to indicate the single player part of the game. Also, as to, what did Cortana do. Basically she orchestrated the A.I. uprising

The red line is a help tool to tell you which direction you took damage from, so if you get shot in the back the line will be in the bottom to indicate it came from your 6 o clock. In games where you fight a lot of enemies and take damage from distance it's very useful 😸

05:37 I went to buy cigarettes, lol.... Campaign is also called story mode , made usually of quests and missions. Many games come with different modes, u can chose which to play in a specific moment, some other modes are merely competitional or multiplayer. Depending on the game, the story mode is also the main mode. But some games are basically and mainly multiplayer as well. Or everyone vs everyone & my mom. So, there is a lil piece from the happiness shit for everyone and each type of gaming soul out there. Edit : and sorry, today ur mic sounds weird, lol...but everything else is fantastic as always!!! Hehe
