Does she not understand that One Piece started 20+ years ago... Of course Luffy's voice is gonna be a bit different. VA got older and they got better mics so yeah of course it has changed.

Ok but hold on... because it happened so fast that I had to double take it too... When Luffy finally sits upright after reviving and asks "What happened...to me?", his voice is significantly different. Maybe it was just Luffy disoriented from reviving, but I can't help but think that it was supposed to be indicative of Joyboy leaking out a bit there. I could be reading too far into it, but that's what I'd like to think. Zoan awakenings are confirmed to have two different outcomes: you're either overtaken by the will of the fruit, or you meld completely with it. With Luffy on the brink of death, his life force was weak, and that voice could've been Joyboy taking the reins for like a split second.

A lot of people go into One Piece with the wrong mindset and all they think about is catching up. If it takes you forever to catch up GOOD!!!!! Because that is the one thing I regret most and there's nothing worse than not having 800+ episodes of unexplored content

@@GalekC Maybe. I don't remenber the titles. But in episode 1 luffy tells Coby about his dream and that he is ok to die because of it. In episode 1072 luffy say to Kaido that he isn't afraid of diying. If you can't imagine/remenber what I saying, try whatch the cenes in the episodes and compare. Sorry for the bad english.

OOOH I love this trend. 2 and 1062 next! That's the other pair people watch. It features Zoro, Luffy's right hand man!

Luffy when his power is fully realized allows him to stretch without limit and apply rubber qualities to everything around him. As Nika was created from the imagination of others he can warp reality a little to fight as he imagines. In other words recreate cartoon sounds and effects.

Yeah, basically, the reason why the artwork is so wacky here is literally due to Luffy's awakened power. Basically, going from 'rubber man' into 'rubberhose animation man' essentially. His awakened state literally allowed him to become a loony toon.

She better rewatch the first episode, she was not paying attention and missed a lot of the foreshadowing and small scenes

I mean I don't think it's possible to forget. Because in anime they mention his devil fruit a lot. So the payoff of most of the story is pretty much gone. This is a pretty massive spoiler.

And such a person turns out to behave in a toon force way, so yep, the Looney tunes behave was very very new in the anime world and it was the intention. It's received mixed responses from the audience, mostly positive but there are some who feel this isn't how animes are so this shouldn't have been there

People should understand that this is not like the other animes. All animes are different. They should also understand that One Piece was always goofy and cartoony throughout the series, which is probably the point. Gear 5 is meant to be like that. According to Oda, the creator of One Piece, this is inspired by Tom and Jerry. Gear 5 actually broke the Internet; a lot of people loved it.
