Well, we are a couple from worlds apart that has chosen Valencia, Spain to be our home base. Vicky is born and raised in Seoul, South Korea, now an American citizen. Josh is an American, well, born and raised in small town, Ohio.
We left our jobs, family and friends and moved to Valencia, Spain in the middle of the pandemic. We decided to that we should also start a KZread channel to show the world that, you can do anything (even if you are getting grey hair), if you think you can! Excellent video. Thank you. We are 66YO retired educators visiting Poland and Estonia after helping a new school open in Lviv. We are seriously thinking of selling our Portland condo and moving to Europe. Is renting a better option than owning a home for expats in Spain? We always wanted to own, but now it seems that putting the cash in CDs is wiser than purchasing a home. Plus the healthcare is better in Spain than in the US. Your thoughts? Dean & Cindy

We have been subscribed to your channel for sometime and love it. Moving to Spain is a dream for a lot of us. We wonder how you have handled taxes in Spain? Looking into it for American expats, it looks like they are quite high. Plus the wealth tax each year. Have you found it to be very high? I wonder if you might do a video on how you handle your US and Spanish taxes. Thanks!

Hi Matt! Taxes are complicated, and yes, quite high. We use an accountant to handle everything as we are just not well versed in this area. We simply do not want, nor should be giving any type of tax or legal advice, we prefer eating and traveling, lol! ✈️🧀🍷

Thanks for the video! It says that work is not allowed on NLV. Is being a KZreadr not considered as work? And tax must be paid on any global income. I asked because I have a website that’s funding my stay here w/ NLV. TIA!

Hi! We would advise seeking advice from an attorney, but from how we understood the law, you cannot take a job from a Spaniard. Passive income is allowed, and yes, you are taxed on global income. However there are agreements with the US government, so there is no double taxation. We worked with an accountant to handle all of our tax obligations. Does that make sense? Thanks for watching:)
