The Tournaments are a good representation of how the game is played. The operators of The rainbow Six program are separated into two categories: Attackers and Defenders. Each match of the game is a simulation to practice and train for their real roles which is counter Terrorism. Sam and Harry are Rainbow 0 and Rainbow 6 respectively being the trainer and director of the program. I think the story between Aruni and Thermite was pretty clear but that explosion that scarred Jordan claimed Aruni’s arm and Leg. Flores is a professional thief that went to Ash for safety from the gangs he was stealing from in Argentina and Ash is calling in the favor. He’s also the first canonically gay member of the team but there are thoughts that Cav and Twitch are a couple as well. Also Pulse and Hibana are dating which is why the last fight in the first video was so funny

As well each operator has their own special gadget that brings their own twist to each match. This game is strictly multiplayer and doesn't usually play in that statium (the stadium was a special even that happened twice so far) but instead plays on a number of different maps. There are 3 different game modes; bomb, which is shown in the stadium video where the attackers have to defuse 2 bombs and defenders have to protect it. The other is secure area where the attackers have to secure a bio hazard container and defenders have to defend it. And the last game mode is hostage which is where the attackers have to extract a hostage to safety. In each game mode the players have the choice to either play the objective or neutralize all their opponents within a certain time limit (about 3 minutes depending on the game mode) and always starts 5 players vs 5 players. With a preparation phase where each side can prepare (defenders will set up traps and reinforcements and attackers will drone out to find out where on a map the objective is located and make their decision on how and where they want to enter the building). Right now there are over 25 operators on defender side and attacker side to choose from so each match can play out completely different.

Have Ubi abandoned the actual counter-terrorism angle and PvE completely? Shame, if so. For all the flashiness and multiplayer shenanigans of Siege, I really miss the oldschool Rinbow Six. Seeing the training operations of a top secret unit being transformed into a spectator sport, as well as seeing all the ridiculous new operatives that couldn't be farther from the realities of the founding counter-terrorism units... NGL, all that put me in a grumpy mood rather than hyped me up.

@@fillosof66689 old school Siege was cancer, the game is so much better now. Old school was jiggle-peeking, BB with a 1000 health shield, terrible maps, spawn peeking Bandit and Jäger, SMG-11 with ACOG and 6 minutes matchmaking.

@@pawelzietek Jäger and Blackbeard have been nerfed so much that they shouldn’t be in the game or just be reworked to be viable. Bandit’s utility is also questionable since Kaid was added and has quicker deploy than Bandit’s car batteries

Blitz is best boy. I love the "Tournament of Champions" cinematic. Never fails to get me pumped.

Been a long time fan of his, and while unfortunately the people trying to carry his legacy have been coming up short, his works and world stand as one of the best worlds in literature.

@@HannaHsOverInvested In the video they fight in an arena in a fake building, in the game you fight in a variety of landscapes (an Australian Outback farm, a French consulate, a remote Villa, a downed plane, a city slums and more). But the gameplay itself is similar to the videos: 5 attackers, 5 defenders, last ones standing or ones who defuse the bomb win. A variety of Operator with a variety of skills and backgrounds.

Basically, short explanation. Siege is a game about a team called Rainbow Six which all the characters are apart of. They are like a counter terrorist unit, they are the best of the best. For example if there is any big threat in the world, Rainbow the team that will be sent in. In the video game, there are two teams attackers, and defenders. The defenders defend a bomb sight, or hostage, or bio container inside a building, while setting up traps, barricades etc. And the attackers have to either take out all the defenders or successfully disarm the bomb/save hostage/secure container. It is basically their way of training. And every year they take part in a tournament. EDIT: Oh, also. Kali, the lady with the sniper, has her own private military which some of the operators are also apart of. As you can see in the end stuff gets heated.

So the game is actually similar to what you watched but it’s not always in an arena. The arena is a limited time mode that allows you to play as if you were in the thing fighting against other players. On other occasions however it’s normal 5v5 bomb diffusion on a number of different maps. (I’m sorry if my explanation was a still a little too vague but that’s basically what the game is about hope it helped 😁) oh and another thing they can shoot each other without dying because they are using some sort of airsoft sand bullets which still hurt and cause damage but don’t kill.

Siege is a 5v5 game. Usually the objective is for attackers to defuse a bomb inside a building. There's multiple maps that it's played on. It's PvP only. Each operator has their own gadgets and abilities that they bring to the game. If you have any other questions let me know.

My favorite operator happens to be Frost, who's from Vancouver and part of the Canadian special forces, wears snow gear, and uses bear traps to incapacitate her foes. She's awesome 👍

@@ogknitely Yes and no. The base game ops are the only ones to have an intro ingame, however every DLC op got an intro posted on KZread etc. as a trailer.

Oh, if you want to get creeped out, watch the video for Rainbow 6 Rogue Spear. It came out in 1999 & the introductory video pretty much tells of the coming global war on terror, that happend IRL only two years later, like, to the year. They literally said "2001" - the year the towers fell. Craaaaaazyyyy

So much character in the introduction at the start of Tournament of Champions alone... Like Dokkaebi falling back into her south korean accent out of anxiety being in front of a camera, Doc's formal and proper method of indroduction compared to Mozzie sitting next to him, and Caveira simply staring daggers at being asked to make an introduction, being an interrogator as one of her main roles. Though The Playbook is more fun overall since we see abilities/utilities being used more. Mozzie's Pests, Finka's Adrenal Surge, Dokkaebi's virus upload, Ash's breaching rounds, even Aruni making use of her robo fist to punch through soft walls. Yup, the Siege Invitational cinematics (Tournament of Champions and The Playbook) are basically cinematics made out of typical siege gameplay. Everything explained as an overhyped training exercise for Counter Terrorism Units, though at the same time it's a sort of parody/representation of the actual Siege Invitational (The annual e-sport event) These cinematics, along with an in game event are starting to be annualy released when the tournament takes place for the general players of the game to also get involved. As goofy as it is, like the dynamic happening between Ash and Kali on the "This is supposed to be serious training" versus "Hah it's a game" Understandably, Ash is pretty pissed about Kali having zero consideration for members of Rainbow who aren't part of Nighthaven (Kalis private militia company) if it gives her a chance to look good. Quick tidbits. The bullets are some type of chalk based non-lethal ammunition. Siege explains it away in the ops are wearing a liner suit under their unform to tell them if they've taken lethal damage based on the contact the rounds make. Likewise if they take one to the face, they consider that simply being out (A reflection to certain ops having stronger armour/health ratings and a headshot is lethal in any situation in the game) Likewise we see dense smoke coming out of the explosives where I'd assume rules apply as if you get coated in dust, you're out, althogh in game things still go boom and bleed.

Heya, Happy Birthday with a slight delay. I am a bit late to the party so it seems. I think almost all your questions have been answered in some way. Please allow me to make the point that all this story that has come out of Rainbow Six Siege has been an addition to it way after the game was released. There is somewhat of a divide in the community on if this was good. Overall I think most fans/ "gamers" appreciate the extra content. In the following I have allowed myself to connect some pieces that I have been unsure if properly connected in other comments. 1. Harry ( 12:52 ) is known to you as "6" from the Hammer and Scalpel video. (The defacto coordinator of the program) 2. The Sniperwoman (Kali/The Widow) is from a private security group of which the name I seem to have forgot. This is where the entire "not in our playbook" conflict finds its base, as this is seen as a weird choice by most other Operators (themselves being recruited from top CounterTerroristUnits [GIGN 1:44, SAS 2:39 as just two examples]). 3. The woman shot in the ear punching Kali is Ash and is one of the founding members of Rainbow in this iteration, referenced by Flores in 15:30 as a recruiter/ the person he owes something. 4. Rainbow has a good lore, though it is mainly told by snippits of text kind of hidden in the games menus, I think they are accessible via the website though. Might be a fun read. 5. For every Operator that was not added later with Content bundles, in other words release Operators, there are short videos similar to the "Meet the ..." series of Team Fortress 2. Might be a fun watch. Sorry for any spelling mistakes or sentences that don't fit the english grammar, as English is not my first language. If these were things to obvious to you I also must apologize as I misunderstood.

Yeah, blanks shoot out air and make the gun go bang without any sort of bullet, those are sim chalk rounds, hurt like a bitch and leave plenty of bruises, but only bruises and chalk

Quickest rundown of the game I can muster. In the story of this game, every character able to be selected are all members of Rainbow Six, an international anti-terrorist organization. Each character comes from different special forces groups, but has recently entered in operatives from more uncommon, and niche professions. There are 3 multiplayer game modes. "Multiplayer" as in two teams of equal size opposing one another. 5 vs. 5. Attackers vs. Defenders [Bomb] This game mode is where there are one or two bombs on the map. If there are two they are usually in adjacent rooms. The defenders win by making the timer run to 0, or killing every member of the attacking team. Attackers win by either disarming all bombs or killing every member of the Defending team. [Secure Area] This game mode is where there is an area, usually one or two rooms adjacent to one another. The defenders win by running time to 0, or killing the enemy team. Attackers win by claiming the area(s) from the defenders by occupying it, or killing the defenders. The speed at which the attackers claim the area is dependent on how many attackers, or defenders are in the area. [Hostage] In this game mode the defenders are given a hostage to defend. The defenders win by running time to 0, or killing the enemy team. The attacker win by rescuing the hostage, and carrying them outside of the building, or killing all of the defenders. If the hostage is killed, then whoever's team the killer belongs to loses, while the other team wins. Each side, Defenders and Attackers have their own set of characters that each have their own gadgets, abilities, and weapons. These also apply for the secondary game mode. [Terrorist Hunt] This game mode only has human players on one side, while dozens of AI controlled bots are on the enemy team. There are the standard rules of each game mode said previously some slight changes. As the bombs, and area can now be separate by different multiple rooms, and floors. As well as a terrorist Hunt excusive mode "Classic". This game mode simply puts a set number of terrorists inside the building, and your only objective is to take no prisoners. (Hopefully this helps with understanding. If it didn't please ask, and I'll try my best)

Idk if someone said this already but the game is about a CTU (counter terrorism unit) team that do a bunch of simulations against each other. You get to choose from a variety of operators on attacking and defending and you play in a training drill in a 5v5. There are a different variety of maps and this stadium was a LTM (limited time mode) for the pro league area of the game

Rainbow 6 is a 5v5 strategy shooter with unique operators on attack and defense. This is the video that comes out every year around the 6 invitational, which is the biggest tournament for pro players that comes around every year.

The Rainbow 6 series is an older video game series based very loosely off Tom Clancy's techno thriller of the same name. A large majority of the games developed and published under the Rainbow 6 banner are single player tactical shooters that were either first-person(the point of view that the player sees the game in is directly from the view of the character they control) or third-person( the point of view for the player surrounds the character that they are controlling like an invisible camera following them.) If i remember correctly almost all the games are tied together in some way with the most stories revolving around an organization called Team Rainbow (An international Anti-terrorist organization created by UN and is comprised by some of the best soldiers, police officers, and experts in a multitude of fields) taking down a new threat. Lore-wise many betrayals happened with in team rainbow and the organization was disbanded for many years until recently in the current game that goes by Rainbow 6 Siege a new Terrorist group begins to appear out of no where and makes an attack on US soil and their motive unknown. With this new threat on the scene UN decides to reinstate the Team Rainbow program from the ground up and immediately begin recruiting from militaries, law enforcement, and PMCs(private military companies) the trailer you have seen shows a new pseudo-sport that the team created while training their Operators to help bolster public perception of the rainbow program that is based around the teams many extensive combat scenario training courses. where instead of live ammunition they use low impact ceramic bullets that shatters against body armor but stull hurts like hell.

Rainbow six siege is basically a 5v5 competitive shooter game where you can play as attacker and defender. The team must work together to get the victory. Every operators have an unique gadget, some are traps, some baits, intel, soft breach, hard breach, supports, intel denial, area denial etc. We have 30 seconds of preparation phase where attackers can spot the defenders and the objective with drones and the defenders must reinforce the rooms and put down traps and intel gadering. The action phase have 2:50 minutes and there it start go crazy with strats and unpredictable situations What the story says is that Team rainbow is trained against eachother, specialist against specialist, for becoming the best of the best anti-terrorism special force

Rainbow 6 is supposed to be a global unified terror fighting operation. The game has some tutorial or trial missions where you do stuff like that but it mostly plays like the arena you saw with rounds and objectives. The round ends if the objective is completed or everyone from one team is taken out or if time runs out. The story started out with them assembling to fight a new terror group but has transitioned to them kinda part time competing in this arena as part of training. The sniper you saw Kali runs her own private military company that's hired to work with Rainbow but she and her crew obviously don't have the same values as them which seems like it's gonna cause some fights since some of the more ruthless operators in Rainbow are shown to take her side. The last clip was basically a look at how they approach people to join rainbow if they want them to. They hasn't been much content lately of them actually fighting terrorists and it's been more like a montage of new talent joining Rainbow each season throughout each year the game has been out.

The cartoons are basically trailers for new characters that are being introduced in new game updates. The videos explain the story of them joining.

The characters in the game are all from different counter terrorism units from different countries. Just to give a few examples of which units are part of rainbow I will match the characters who you can see in the Tournament of champions and their units the Womanwith the beanie is Grace “Dokkaebi” Nam from the 707 SMB ( South Korea), the guy with the shield is Elias “Blitz” Kötz from the GSG9 (Germany), the guy with the hammer is Seamus ”Sledge” Cowden from the SAS, the guy who got chocked by the girl with the face paint is Mike “Thatcher” Baker from the SAS, the woman who got the final kill is Yumiko “Hibana” Imagawa from the SAT, the French guy is Gustave “Doc” Kateb from the GIGN, the redhead is Max “Mozzie” Goose from the SASR, the woman who got blown up by the grenade is Elena Maria “Mira” Alvarez from the GEO, the woman with the face paint is Taina “Caveira” Pereira from the BOPE and the guy who was the last kill is Jack Pulse Estrada from the FBI SWAT and that are not all of the characters that are part of rainbow there are actually 61/62 ( need to count) for example Sam Fisher or Karina Gaarddhøje better known as Nøkk

The arena is a special game mode that comes out once a year. The normal game is pretty much exactly like the game that takes place in the arena but the arena is a special map that you can play on. The normal game maps are normal places where terrorist situations happen. One of them is a bank and another one is a French embassy. There's also stuff like planes and residential houses. There's a lot of different maps within the game

Starts to play the game, gets TK'ed for no reason, figures out ash doesn't have a hit box, shoots someone in the head doesn't register at all😂

To explain the game to a non player 5 attackers 5 defenders each operator has an ability they can use for example: Caveira (skull face girl) like you saw in the first one is very silent and can “interrogate” her enemies revealing he position of all remaining attackers and Sledge has the sledgehammer and can breach through all soft walls. Each operator has a bunch of varied abilities and loadouts each one must use these to plant/defuse the bomb or even eliminate the enemy team. Its a great game if you enjoyed watching this then im sure youd enjoy the game

You need 10 players to play this game. Players split in teams of 5, and fight each other, one team trying to plant a "bomb" and the other trying to defuse it. There is a whole host of 5vs5 games that play like this, each with its unique flavour. Another one being "overwatch", whose trailers you have seen. 5v5 games form the core of today's e-sports scene.

This tournament thing is just like an event. It normally is "real life" situations where 5 "defenders" need to protect bombs or a hostage(s) and 5 "attackers" have to defuse the bombs / save the hostage(s). There are several maps, all of them are different buildungs with walls, windows, floors that can be breached or not. The "Operators" all have different abilities as breaching charges, stealth, special guns, scans, alarms, shields and so on. You play one of 5 operators each round and have to use your abilities as well as you can to defend/attack. You have to plan every single round and you need a LOT of communication with you team (4 other players).

Man the SI soundtrack hits like crazy

I'm a fan of the game and it gave me a tremendous amount of joy watching you get excited about it. it's a crazy game. I know no other like it. I suspect that another R6 cinematic is coming out next week an account of the new season coming out soon. I hope we all love it, because the new operator is going to be awesome

Sam in that trailer is Sam Fisher. He's the main character of the Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell series.

Rainbow 6 is a first person point of view shooter game that involves swat tactics to complete missions. The trailers are mostly about the player vs. Player aspect and make it to be some kind of simulated swat mission. The battles in pvp are 5 swat forces members vs. 5 terrorists in simulated mission. Missions like capture / rescue the vip to secure / plant the bomb. In the trailer you seen, it now a simulated sport. Actually it kind of like some of the drama that happens in behind the scenes in e-sport. The whole cool down it only a game and fist to the nose response seems very familiar. Still recommending you watch FF14 'Flames of Truth' or 'Shadowbringers'. Early happy birthday to you and happy birthday to pablo.

Basically the game is two teams of 5. One team (Attackers) have to defuse a bomb or take out the other team(Defenders). There is 3 minutes on the clock and the defender's goal is to prevent a plant of the defuser by the attackers or kill the enemy team.

I'll answer ur question at 10:36, yup this game is about a 5v5 PVP game. Got Defender and Attacker, Attacker needs to Secure/Defuse/Capture what's inside, the Defender makes sure they won't. For the video with crowd and tournament, it was like a trailer for an annual competition, like in real life there's a championship for a pro player called 'Six Invitation'. Hope it helps :)

The stadium is one of the ranked maps in the game! And these matches are supposed to represent that year's pro league! In the lore they are basically using souped up airsoft guns! And every single game the players play against each other is training! Kali pisses off Ash because she was baiting her teammates which is something that a lot of actual siege players get pissed off about!

The game is a multiplayer 5v5. Theres Special forces operators from all across the world that you can pick from and play...The idea behind the game is that its a "simulation/military excercise" because the game doesn't follow the usual BAD vs GOOD guys theme and it wouldn't really make sense to have Police forces fighting each other... The stadium thing is sort of a shoutout to the professional scene of this game (and many others) where the best players in the world compete against each other and those tournaments usually do take places in stadiums with thousands of people present....Well to give you an idea just check out something like "The Cathedral of Counter-Strike - ESL One Cologne 2018 (Official Aftermovie)" - Different game but captures the professional side of things :)

I've got this in my recommendation and needles to say, I've watched it all

Oh yeah btw pulse and hibana are a confirmed couple. Hibana was the woman who put down the computer case in the first video and pulse was the bald guy with sunglasses. Hence hibanas "sorry babe" before she shot him

I'm sure by now you've looked up siege, but its a 5v5 online multiplayer game, the objective of the attackers is to defuse the bomb or finish of the defenders, and objective of defence is to kill all attackers or stop them planting the defuser, i'm subscribing either way it's interesting to watch someone who doesnt play games react to this stuff, good content!

I'm unsure if someone else already explained it but the game is about two teams fighting each other in different game modes, one team defends and the other attacks

The arena is an event in game, but the game as others have explained in the comments already, is about two teams of 5 (attackers and defenders), where defenders have to defend a point or a hostage while the attackers try to get the hostage, take the point, or even stop a bomb. to put it simple, it's SWAT with futuristic gadets

There's also the rainbow 6 siege outbreak cinematic cutscenes too.

Tom Clancy ; conspiracy theorists claim he had insight into 9/11 & was whacked - GREAT author😭 The Rainbow Six games were counter terrorism games, where a U.N. team of Special Operators would band together to extract hostages & defuse bombs. I remember playing as "Ding Chavez" in both the original Rainbow 6, as well as Rainbow 6: Rogue Spear. Thooooose games were truuuuley fun. This RB6 Siege has been watered down to simply Attack/Defend within close quarters, becoming quite claustrophobic, losing HEAPS of enjoyability & fun in the process. There used to be multiple objectives, now it's just defend or attack. 😔 The original Ghost Recon (also by Tom Clancy) was pretty sick, too. Btw, you're as gorgeous as ever!😍

I might be late to the party, but it's called "Sim-unition". Pronounced like ammunition, but with SIM instead of "ammu". Police and military train with it for things like counter terrorism/hostage exercises. It carries a chalk bullet capsule or paint, instead of a lethal lead projectile...still VERY dangerous if a shot is taken to exposed soft tissue like the face and ears. Technically, the shotguns chalk round should shatter on impact with a wall, so it must be thin walls to be punching through like that..or just a slight suspension of belief. :) hope this helps!

They're shooting sim rounds. It's like chalk or paint rounds with smokeless powder instead of black powder behind the "bullet." Real guns just swap the bolt out and you're good to go. Real feel, real bullet flight up to a certain distance so they're great for training

The arena is an event tied to setting up the normal gameplay as an Olympics style game. The real game is special force operatives from around the world forming a terrorist response unit divided into attacking and defending team. One for taking place of interest and the other for protecting them from terrorists. The normal game is just training simulations with now "game" to it with theses games like I said at the beginning being a in world event to show their prowess. This is a idea by Harry, the new rainbow head, to give them another interesting way to train.
