The lore behind the Arknights version of Ständchen is amazing, Ebenholz is one of the only two last descendants of the Witch King, the previous ruler of Leithanien (Arknights version of Germany) and the evil spirit of his ancestor stalked him and his cousin until he took ahold of the latter, possessing him and making him get killed in an attempt to stop it. That song symbolizes both him remembering his best friend, and the fact that one day, the Witch King will come for him too.

I'm actually super happy you included Great MIghty Poo. Having goofy stuff like that mixed in is just a lot of fun, and even if it's not likely to be anyone's favorite, it's at least unique and memorable in its own right. Similar reason to why I liked it when you included persona 5 music, since it shows sides of game music that most people are very unlikely to associate with video games. An idea for if you play God Shattering Star again (which I hope you do) would be to maybe include a bit of context explanation and also play at least a bit of Shambhala before hand. Shambhala by itself is worth talking about, since its an unusual but fantastic way to set the tone for the area (having dubstep music in a game of almost entirely orchestral works is a great way to throw the player off in the same way the characters would be thrown off entering an underground sci-fi facility after living in a medieval swords and sorcery fantasy world all their lives). However the contrast, going from orchestral, to dubstep, then opera, also makes the player pay more attention to the music and think about it more, and God Shattering Star gives a surprising amount to think about. It's in an unknown language and, presumably, sung by the antagonist of the level, which suggests that this is how the 1000 year old legend, Nemesis, thinks about himself. This got me, someone with very little music theory knowledge, paying attention to what the music does on a level I otherwise wouldn't have. I noticed that despite the song's menace, the vocals had a heroic quality to them, which, combined with the title "God Shattering Star", lead me to believe that Nemesis views himself as a great and powerful hero, a "Star" who shatters the gods ruling the world and takes rightful dominion, but the menacing and sinister nature of the music, especially the bit where it suddenly cuts in at the climax of the singer's ascending line, belies this and hints at the violent, narcissistic, bandit that Nemesis truly is. Of course that's only my interpretation. I think there are translations of the lyrics out there, but I don't want to know them since it's extraneous material that takes some of the fun away. Still, when there is so precious little information about Nemesis in the game, and this is the only place where you can get a sense of his side of the story, the player's interpretation of the character of Nemesis is going to be strongly influenced by their analysis of the track, which the aforementioned contrast draws the player's attention to. And I think that's really damn cool.

Perhaps this is too tangential, but I am genuinely fascinated by the electronic elements that permeate a large chunk of the Three Houses' soundtrack. From 'The Edge of Dawn' at boot up, to the battle themes like 'Fodlan Winds', and even to Rhea's theme, 'Gazing at Sirius', you can find more synthetic sounds intermingled with the "natural" traditional sounds. To me, it's the subtlest of hints to the underlying truth of the world - that modern, scientific advancements were made in the past but surpressed by the Church. Of course, whenever the Agarthans are involved, with their secret mechanical developments like robots and ballistic missiles, that electronic element becomes most prominent, giving us the iconic Shambhala Area 17 dubstep.

24:20 The alternative to write Umlaute in German (ä,ö,ü) is by writing them as "ae, oe, ue." "Ständchen" is directly translated as "Serenade", although colloquially it is also used endearingly for children singing someone a little song or even a bunch of friends singing together a bit tipsy. It is little songs on stage for audiences as well. Not just the minstrel of old standing(!) beneath the balcone of his beloved and performing.

Even the roar of the jungle dragon, the 2nd longest song behind scal's theme is only actually about four minutes and 10 seconds. But I do understand anyway. I just think that Calamity has great music that really feels inspired by classic music but in the modern era, and it'd be interesting to see how they would react.

The theme for the Great Mighty Poo is commonly known as Slop-prono. Not hard to see why.

I still think it was a really missed opportunity to not have blue skies play for AC7 credits instead of the French song cus they talk about the color of the sky blue skies and that the game takes place in ussaea bringing back Stonehenge any way AC4 AC7 are similar and I think blue skies would have fit the best

I'd love to see your thoughts on the Arkham City main theme. It might not have as much opera, but still a classic.
