Those saying this doesn't sound as good as the Plini one, you must understand this is Nolly behind this plugin. Nolly is a mixing genius, and I'm betting a lot of this stuff and the presets are voiced and tuned for a mix. The Plini plugin presets sound fantastic on their own, but they require a good amount of tweaking for a mix. Maybe this plugin is going for the opposite approach. Either way, I preordered. I'll put a review up when its released.

If you would travel a few years back like 2014 and you told everyone "Hey, someday you can get amazing guitar tones an your computer" nobody would believe you. You can even make your own impulses with 8 mics with that one Plug In (can't remember the name).

Well, I would say that music styles + sound compatibility is the best guide. To date, I’ve used Plini loads more because the Clean and Dirty amps + Reverb and Delay are really useful for blues, jazz as well as the hard grind amp for rock etc. The Nolly, I’ve started to use more of because it’s tones are definitely used for heavy guitar genres (I do prog rock and retro rock)...so based on the rock only, Nolly. Based on genre, Plini. Based one frequency of my own use, Plini (due to reasons above). Choice for new stuff going forward... genre based. Plini for everything (generalist) and Nolly for rock and hard/metal (specialist) / anything that needs a 5150 amp.

Been testing this with a DAW and my Orange rocker terror. With a daw the reverb uses uses more cpu power than the amp which is a bit insane but easily got around by using my helix effects. I was surprised how good this was as cab sim with my Orange amp for recording my amp never sounded better into daw. I will probably buy this once the 14 day free trial is over mainly for the cab sim software, and a bonus of a few amps thrown in,I swear the Lunchbox amp is based on a orange 🍊.

So far we got one amp in the Will Putney suite, the darkglass plugin and the Parallex, which sound more darkglass than the darkglass. So not a shitload of ground covered. Also most people buying one of those amp sims are also playing bass, so that would be great.

I know you talked about how the master volume (in the plug-in) was very responsive as to the gain levels while you dial it up and down. Does it respond as much when using the volume knob on the guitar to change the tone? I would expect that it would, but I didn’t see you explore that. I’m not as well-versed in the nuances of modeling amps so I don’t know if the effect would be as evident on the modeling amp as it is while playing through a tube or even solid state amp. Just curious.

It must be pre-programmed into us, whenever a metal guitarist (inc) me, play through a lovely clean sound, our heads do this nice floaty side to side thing, crank up the gain, and aggressive face gesture, up and down head movement, not the floaty one.

Just by looking at the design of the 3rd Amp you can guess it's modelled after a Peavey amp :D

The 3rd amp looks and sounds like a Peavey 5150/6505 modded? Cannot imagine any competition next to this.

@@kimseniorb I mostly ment that there are lots and lots of people out there that wanted an organic sounding 5150 amp sim. I can only think of x50 doing this till now but this one came closer. No competition is a bold statement since these things up the competition which is a good thing for everyone. And of course I'm looking forward to the other plugin they are putting out.
