Do i believe he should be a 1st ballot hof? probably yea, i could see it. is he a top 5 shortstop of all time? no. even tho he is known for the jump throw, his defensive war is the 2nd worst in history behind micheal young or yuniesky betancourt (started tht stat in the 90's i think or early 00's) he struck out the most out of all players with 3000 hits or more. never won an mvp (even tho he deserved it in 06) never really lead the league in any offensive stats (once or twice in hits) and his last couple of years were rlly bad (except the year before last) everyone praises jeter like he's the son of god and just because he stayed with 1 team. he only led his team to 1 ws (he didnt lead them in the late 90's he was a part of the team) watch the keith olbermann video on it. i still believe he's a 1st ballot, but he never would of gotten tht recognition if he played in Tampa or Milwaukee.

That 240 feet feels like a mile, i completely agree. I played 2nd base and 3rd occasionally and i always overthrew at 3rd thinking i didn’t have enough on it.

It isn’t as far as the camera looks. It’s 120 feet from base to base across the diamond so throws are usually gonna be a little less than that distance.

@@aleji0 Also, you have to remember that Machado was out for two seasons with injuries to his knees, so if he wouldn't have had those knee injuries, then he surely would have surpassed Arendao! And he came back and did better than anyone else ever has after sustaining those kinds of injuries, because players tend to play with a lot of precautions and tends to favor those injuries, meaning that he didn't act all afraid of his injuries he had, which most players tend to do.

I love how Nolan stresses the importance of the 1st baseman helping him out, and of him giving the 2nd baseman as good a feed as possible to make double plays. Really shows his team ethic

Arod and Tony Romo following very similar paths. Really good players on teams that people love to hate (myself included) but fantastic analytics making the games much more interesting to watch

Huge Yankees fan, but I just became a big nolan arenado fan. Man is poised, respectful, humble and all his answers are clearly well thought out to a point where I know each and every part of how he plays the game is practiced fundamentally. What a guy!

One of the most informative, explanatory and honest videos I've seen regarding the craft that is professional sports. Alex's humility and simplicity are accented more by Arenado's graceful explanations of his movements and techniques. I honestly enjoyed this

You don’t have to like A-Rod but this is still fun to watch

Pierce Hubbard I think it was his attitude, he came across as fake. Maybe he was just misunderstood during his playing days because his love for the game and the Yankees seems quite genuine now. It never felt that way when he was playing. I don’t think it was entirely the steroids, Andy Pettitte did steroids and he’s still beloved by Yankee fans. The way Alex went about the whole steroid saga was an embarrassment. Threatening to sue everyone and denying everything; had he just owned up to his mistake in the moment it would have all blown over and been forgotten. No doubt he had some great years and was a huge part of the 09’ championship but he just felt phony. He’s much more genuine and likeable now and I enjoy his commentary and perspective. I wish he had acted this way as a Yankee.

This level of detail is some of the best content out there. A-rod asking all the right questions, good shit!

everything about this video is great, from the questions to the answers to the examples. I really like how they brought the camera over just so we could see just how far away it is. Nolan does these awesome plays with such ease you dont realize what all goes into just one throw.........Great job all the way around.

Watching Nolan do this makes it look easy. It’s hard. The throws he made while on one knee, in foul territory, on the lip of the grass are insane. Not a lot of people can do that. You gotta work on arm strength & accuracy to be able to make throws like that. Shows you how great he is.

Nolan is Definitely A F Beast in Baseball and One of the Best. He avrgs about 40 homeruns a season. Man is an Outstanding 3rd baseman and can do it all. Look at his F arm strength, hes throwing bullets sitting down. Damn it doesn't get any better then a Platinum Glove.
