Liked the hunt with the simplex. The cow bell is added to the end of a fishing pole so when you fish after dark and get a good bite the bell will alert you that you have something on your line

Yes, I saw that. Makes sense. I still like my miniature cowbell story though. The image of tiny cows on the beach... LOL. Thanks for watching. Cheers.

The cow bell's are likely for attaching to a fishing pole and rings when you have a fishbone the line. I have 2 that I sometimes use when I fish and they are modern of course. But those could be older styles. Update: I just realized some people already explained the bells. Lol!

The rounded thing you said maybe headphone thing? It is a Bail/ line guard and roller wheel for a fishing spinning reel

Cow bells were used for fishing you would your pole in a holder and put the bell on the tip of the pole and it would sound wher the fish was there

Just a thought, concerning the little cow Bell's. It's possible that people attach them to the tips of their Fishing poles, to signal that they have a bite. Especially if they have several poles setup, and they are tight lining.

Yes, a few other people suggested that as well. I think that is the truth of it. I’m still calling them Cowbells though! Lol. Thanks for watching. Cheers.

Great review, love the "i got a fever for more cowbell" clip. Yes you can buy the little bells at most tackle shops to clip on the end of a fishing rod. You set the rod in a holder and just lay back until you hear the bell tinkle. A question for you Big Dog..... Can you compare the pinpointing features of the Simplex+ and the Vanquish 540? I have the Vanquish 540 and do not like the "closing bar" that defines the spot. Often times the bar never closes to show me the precise spot. I see that the Simplex+ has a bullseye circle that narrows down to a single point. Is that any easier or more accurate? Just ordered a Simplex+ this morning, it was, as the Godfather says, " a deal i couldn't refuse". It was the package that includes the wireless headphones and added a Nokta pulse dive pointer, free shipping, and no sales tax. Soon i will be able to try out the Vanquish and Simplex side by side. I may enjoy the waterproof Simplex because my goal is to kayak out to popular sandbars in local lakes where dozens of pleasure boats raft up on busy summer weekends.

Glad you liked the review. Thanks. I really don’t see much of a difference in the pin pointing on these two. To me they seem to work about the same. The Simplex should work well for you in fresh water. Hope you find good stuff. Thanks for watching. Cheers.

Bouncing back and forth with the Simplex or the Vanquish. After this video, I'm getting the Simplex. Build seems more professional and I actually prefer the tones over the Vanquish. Happy hunting!!

Celicagt1zz Probably not until next season when the water gets warmer again. Looking forward to that. Re: the nails. I would keep a few for testing. The rest I would throw in a bucket and when its full, take it to the scrap yard and sell it. It’s not worth much, but better than throwing away. I am doing that with all the junk iron, brass, and copper I find. Cheers.

Na areia molhada usei todos iguais, exceto que manualmente retifiquei o equilíbrio para 0,00. Estou executando a versão 2.77. Espero que esta tradução do Google esteja clara. Obrigado por assistir. On the beach i ground balance to 0 in beach mode and then hunt in field mode. That seems to get the best results. You should check out the Simplex Guru’s videos. She really knows the ins and outs of this machine. Thanks for watching. Cheers.

...do you not use the pinpointer on the Simplex ? 5 digs on one signal is not very efficient....so ? btw 2 small collars probably 2 small dogs

  • @BigDogChannel

You are right. Not very efficient sometimes. Occasionally I will use the pin pointer on the beach. Probably should more often. I don’t have the best knees though, and sometimes its just easier to dig from a standing position. Thanks for watching. Cheers.
