Nokia 2110i unboxing - 1994 Brick phone - GSM900

Ғылым және технология

This is a Nokia 2110i GSM900 phone from 1994. The original (non "i" version) 2110 was released in 1993. This is a GSM900 phone and can still be used anywhere in the world EXCEPT the Americas/Canada. (The Version of this phone compatible with American/Canadian cellular networks is also shown in this video).
There is NO nokia 2010 shown in this video....when I say nokia "2010" around 8 minutes in I mean a Nokia "2110"....not 2010!!!
sorry...even I get confused with so many nokias! ;-)

    Nice Video! I just reactivated my Nokia 2110 and 2110i today. I bought them from Ebay, luckily the battery is still ok. I also got a new SIM and after some charging they both work fine :) I will use one of them in my 'swedish brick' - (Volvo 850) with the original hands free telephone accessory

    My first phone was the Nokia 2120 variant on US Cellular. It used D-AMPS/TDMA and I regretted getting it instead of a GSM phone. US Cellular's network was not great in the mid 1990s and often fell back to analog AMPS for calls and were full of static and audio breaks, a problem my GSM using friends didn't have. Once my contract was done, I switched to Sprint and stayed with them for several years. The 2120 itself was a solid phone and I really liked the design.

  • @BrickCellphones

    @BrickCellphones

    The nokia 2110i is definitely GSM 900. This will only only work in indonesia with 3 of your providers depending on service area. They are : Indosat Ooredoo (which includes the older Indosat, Satelindo and Star-One network), Telkomsel (which Include previous Telkom Flexi network) and XL Axiata in certain areas where there is GSM900 service. Please note that any of these 3 service providers may have good service in your area but just not GSM900 service so your nokia 2110i will say no service....but this just means no GSM 900 service!!! The nokia 2110i is NOT compatible with GSM 1900 (nineteen hundred). It's only compatible with GSM 900 (nine hundred).

    You could do a video about overall how you feel about old vintage phones, how they are raising in prices lately and what models you think could be the biggest classics of these bricks in next 10 years, etc. Also what is the newest phone you would feature on this channel? I'm craving for a 2110i in that wood grain finish but all I can find are private sellers from around the world. I guess if they can show proof that it still works it's worth buying? Any tips for what to look for when purchasing these so you don't get a literal brick lol. :D

  • @BrickCellphones

    @BrickCellphones

    8 жыл бұрын

    Well I don't need to make a video about how I feel about these old vintage cellphones....the fact I've been collecting for over 20 years and been making videos about them for two and half years kinda should speak for itself!! There's certain phones which are more sought after than others but this is dependant on where you are in the world. For example single band GSM 900 phones are common in europe but really rare in Japan where people pay a premium. the same is true for other phones elsewhere. The 2110i is really common. One of Nokia's very popular older GSM900 phones of which they sold loads of. Getting a wood finish one might be a little harder but they do come up. I was offered one by a guy in finland about 2 months ago and turned him down becuase I already have about 4 wood finish ones. You can never tell if they will power on without a photo of the phone on. Just make sure the battery contacts are not corroded. The 2110i is pretty well built. I've never come accross one that doesn't power on if its in good condition.

  • @CasioMaker

    It will all depend on your mobile operator. Here in Chile, since 2010 all cellphones (old and new models) must be registered to function with all operators available on our local market (so for example, if you used a SIM card to make a call or send an SMS message before 2010 on an old phone, it will continue to operate with the assigned carrier that it has by default).
