Excellent presentation Rusty, I would like to add, Never over tighten the chain, you will strip or break the "plastics gears" on drive motor '(don't ask how I know this!)!!

I tried the white Lithium grease and over time it builds up a yucky mess that had to be cleaned off with brake cleaner. I ended up taking each roller out, one at a time and degreasing them. I used a Blaster Silicone that work's as good for noise but doesn't get the build up like the white Lithium grease did. Very informative video, thank you.

Ageeed. Silicone provides the same lubrication without collecting dirt and accumulating build-up. Otherwise well done video, with a radio announcer’s presentation.skillset. If your metal chain needs lubrication, an alternative to silicone is BreakFree CLP. CLP stands for Clean Lube Protect and is a mainstay of firearms maintenance. Because the chain is not galvanized like the hinges and other door parts are, the “P” is useful to prevent rust, while the “C” removes accumulated dirt from this very exposed component. Nothing wrong with silicone on the chain, mind you. And agreed, NEVER plain WD-40 it is not a lubricant it is a Water Displacing rust penetrant.

I was always told NOT to use WD40. However when RoMac came out to take care of my noisy door, they used regular WD40 on it. Hopefully they watch this video!

5:20 alot of noise comes from those "plates" rubbing, sometimes they get bent inward causing a lot of metal on metal rubbing/noise and can be flared back out with pliers

Hi Rusty, I find these types of videos very helpful. I have a new home question for you. We closed on our house on November 7th and we are replacing the standard refrigerator with a counter depth refrigerator. I was buying the nee fridge at Home Depot and they said they would not hook up our new refrigerator to the water source because of the plastic push/pull water shut off valves. The Home Depot sales lady (who also lives in the villages) recommended switching out the plastic shut off valves with the standard metal kind. Have you heard of this? What can you tell me about the plastic shut off valves? Thanks in advance. Steve
