I have the exact garage door opener. I followed all your instructions and am so happy I didn't hire a specialist. My two quotes were over $130.00. Thank you for the great explanations of all the moving parts.

If you have sealed bearings, there is no need to lubricate anything on the cable pulley area. The cable only lays on the perimeter of the pulley; there is no friction. Also, the inside of the pulley is bolted to the shaft and therefore the pulley moves with the shaft, creating no friction there either.

Most helpful of several such vids. I like that you didn't bother to use a straw for spraying (since my Blaster can didn't come with one). The main culprit seemed to be the torsion spring (9:17), which I sprayed top, front & bottom. Had to open & close door several times to distribute silicone & have any drops go on floor before I drove back in. Squeak gone!

Mine door was "popping" and sticking. Lubed the spring and now it works like butter. I did some reading and I guess we're supposed to lubricate the tension spring at least once a year.

Another video showed greasing the underside of the trolley rail. I didn't agree with that, and moved along to this video, and I agree the top of the rail is what needs lubricated. I also agree with the instructions on the door itself, so it must be a good video. 👍

That's because WD-40 is not a lubricant it's a rust inhibitor and it states it on the can that this product is not a lubricant and should not be used as a lubricant!

The pulley doesn't get lubed but the bearing plate behind the pulley does. You'll need a straw on the can to make it work by jamming it into bearing past the seal.

WD40 on the chain isn't the best option. Like you mentioned WD40 can actually de-grease which is harmful. Use chain lube or oil on the chain for best results. Also, the bottom of the rail should be greased as it was when installed.

WD-40 is a water disperser, it moves water from areas it’s sprayed. Hence WD. White lithium is the way to go on garage doors.

You never have to worry if you just prop the door up with a two by four. This works if you don’t mind a little snow or rain getting into the garage and maybe an occasional critter. This works if you live remotely and don’t like garage door maintenance. Skunks and raccoons need a place to live too you know!😇

There are a few mistakes in video, WD 40 does not lubricate anything. The pulleys are tight on the shaft, do NOT lubricate. Use spray lithium grease. Not silicone or WD 40.

You never use WD-40 as a lubricant it even states it on the can that this product is not a lubricant. WD-40 is a rust inhibitor it has an acid in it to eat up rust so it causes things to break loose easy. WD-40 will eat the surface of metal and cause more rust to occur and more squeaking in the long run. People make the mistake of spraying their door hinges with WD-40 and sure takes away the squeaky noise but it also makes it worse in the long run. So never use WD-40 as a lubricant and just like I said it states it on the can that this product is not a lubricant and should not be used as a lubricant. You got that Jack?
