crows are terribly smart and will gang up on a cat.. I think that's why the cat in this case is worried bout them crowing. HE knows what they can do.

That is infact false. Any cat can run much faster than they can roll. It doesnt matter that the fur makes it look like a ball. The fur is to soft to make it a efficient roller. It makes me sad that people spread so much misinformation about these magnificient creatures.

They are vicious sadly.

It is amazing how well camouflaged this cat' fur & markings are. You only really know what you are looking at when it opens it's eyes. Unique creature...hope they never go extinct!

Apparently its hard to increase their population. They have very small window for reproduction, as small as a single day per year, and on top of all that they are very solitary. So solitary that one manul cat will sometimes live as far as 5km from another manul cat. And thats not all, their kitten mortality rate is very high and big chunk of kittens dont survive first 6 months. It makes it even worse that they dont do very well in captivity since they are used to being free and roaming around for kilometers... In the wild they fall victims to predators and poachers, and they also greatly suffer from destruction of natural habitat and reducing amount of their prey... I think that it would be a good idea to donate to institutions and organisations that are trying to save them.

@@Coreycry , they're from the US or elsewhere in the Americas is my guess. We have the black-billed magpie but only from the mid-West coast of the US up into Canada. I have never seen or heard one as a lifelong Midwestern US resident. I know about them from studying birds, and they are referenced in British tv sometimes. But unless you're specifically interested in birds or media from somewhere in Eurasia that happens to mention magpies, I don't think most people over here are familiar with them.

i mean considering that the person who uploaded the video is very clearly russian and the fact that magpies are also corvids it's probably something that was lost in translation. as an example we don't actually have a word for most of birds in the corvidae family in my native language, there's like three different ones and the rest are all crows unless you want to borrow words from another language which i bet is harder if your language doesn't even use the same alphabet. as a side note i'm always so amazed when people can differentiate bird sounds, i can barely tell a chicken from a sparrow lol

it's their round pupils I think, makes them look different enough from housecats that they seem cranky. Doesn't help they have a reputation for being extremely wild. Even bottle raised kittens become wild as adults

@@platedlizard i think it just exaggeration to keep this cats from being domesticated since it's very endangered. I mean nowadays rich people in Arab or Russia have exotic pets such as Bengal Tiger, Leopard, Lion, Puma, Bear. All of them are obviously more dangerous than these Pallas cats but they allowed to pet them legally, meanwhile this Pallas cats still ilegal.

@@barbarmeow4076 That's not the main reason. These cats are evolved to live in the high mountains. Their immune systems are not up to all the bugs down below, so they are very prone to infections. Besides I really don't think those big wildcats are suitable pets either. Let's stick to animals who are happy to share their lives with us.

I love this cat ! It’s gorgeous looking, proper grumpy so you know you are going to have to deserve it’s affection. I’ve had three totally feral cats now that choose me as their forever home, all three ended up being really affectionate once they knew i loved them for who they were.

Yes they have kinda become my spirit animal. 😁 They look famously grumpy, and they are actually rounder and shaped different than other cats. They are just not good runners, and prefer to be ambush hunters, or more specifically just wait for something to walk by lol 😂 .

It's a wild species. It would be incredibly selfish to desire one as a companion or 'pet' and dismiss its non-domesticity as being 'vicious.' There is nothing perfect about keeping one captive for your personal entertainment. It's a dangerous sentiment that would contribute to its decline and sentence it to a life of morbid captivity. The Pallas is not a 'perfect pet' or any kind of 'pet.' We already have perfectly adapted and domesticated house cats that are struggling to survive because there are not enough homes for them. Why would you even consider destroying the lives of a beautiful, wild species and neglecting the lives of domestic cats who are needlessly suffering?

@@RandyRhoadsRules3 it depends on the country. Their overall territory has reduced a lot over time. Some countries used to have manuls and no longer have them due to poaching, which is why they're part of a preservation project now

There are so many domestic cats that are suffering because they have no homes. If you're selfish enough, you can even find some who have long, grey/brown hair.

@@lapis591 I have 4 cats outside and 1 cat inside , all been strays all been fixed. The outside cats have a heated condo and good fed.

Crows crowing are to sleeping Pallus's cats as my wife vacuuming is to me napping.

Superb photography! The Pallas cat’s disturbance from several angles so that the viewer can experience snuggling in that gorgeous fur coat and dozing off too. Beautiful!
