With her interview series 'Take Me Places' Reggaeville host Munchy highlights veterans and members of the Reggae fraternity that spent a lifetime contributing to the genre, played crucial roles in the industry and dedicated their time, talent and energy to foster, develop and push Jamaican culture.
All guests pick a special location and take Munchy to a place of their choice from where they start the mental journey through their life and Jamaica’s rich music history with extensive in-depth interviews. Join our host and visit a soothing garden oasis and the dusty streets of Waterhouse, award packed living rooms and equipment boasting studios, from Downtown Kingston to the countryside of Clarendon.
The second season welcomes musicians Leroy Sibbles and Lloyd Parks, sound engineer Leroy “Fatman” Thompson, Killamanjaro sound father Noel “Papa Jaro” Harper and singer Derrick Morgan and takes you once more to the personal places, where Reggae history was created.
Can you guess what Leroy Sibbles dearest pet was? What other talent Lloyd Parks has aside from music? Why Derrick Morgan didn’t want to stay in England? How Ricky Trooper prepared the legendary clash of Killamanjaro against King Addies and how Jimmy Cliff surprised Fatman on his birthday? All these and even more questions will be answered in another season of Take Me Places, that kicks off on Reggaeville on October 21, 2023 and will have a new episode premiere every two weeks up until Christmas.

Legend. Jaro is definitely the cleanest highs, mids and sweetest bass I’ve ever heard in a sound system. I stood in front of a column of speaker in a Jaro dance in Jamaica 30 years ago and the force of the drivers was literally moving me like the wind in a hurricane. But it was still clean and audible. Fantastic engineering.

The sound was name off the Mount Kilimanjaro which is Africa's tallest mountain.

Has anyone noticed the resemblance of Harper and Michael Manley? I told him so some 27 years ago. Perhaps DNA would prove that. Anyway, Jeremy Lee was the best selector Jaro had .

No relation to Manley, Harpers are from Belmont, Border, St Andrew, another branch of the family from Freetown, St Mary.
