The lyric is invoking the telescreens from 1984 which watch and record everyone in their homes. As we get old, our ability to go where we please and be free from our lives deteriorates as our bodies become weaker. Old people's belief they can one day be free is slowly lost as they are left stuck watching TV every day. 1984 is about the government permanently seizing freedom from the public, so the reference is drawing a parallel and it does it well

High tide, summer in the city, The kids are looking pretty, But isn't it a pity, That the sunshine is followed by a thunder, And thoughts of going under, And is it any wonder Why the sea's calling out to me I seem to spend my whole life running, From people who would be, The death of you and me, 'Cause I can feel the storm clouds, Sucking up my soul. High tide, life is getting faster, No one has the answer, I try to face the day now in a new way, The bottom of a bottle 'Cause every man's a puzzle. Let's run away together you and me, Forever we'd be free, Free to spend our whole lives running, From people who would be, The death of you and me, 'Cause I can feel the storm clouds, Sucking up my soul. Let's run away to sea, Forever we'd be free, Free to spend our whole lives running, From people who would be, The death of you and me, 'Cause I can feel the storm clouds coming. I'm watching my TV, Or is it watching me? I see another new day dawning, It's rising over me, with my mortality, And I can feel the storm clouds, Sucking up my soul.

This has been around for 5 years now, heard it live, read the lyrics, read the official lyrics, at one point I knew how to cover it, probably would know now, but damn my fucking soul if I don't hear him say CAUSE EVERY MAN'S A PASTA. Screw you, Noel Gallagher, putting crazy ideas of pasta men in my brain.

(Lyrics) High tide, summer in the city, The kids are looking pretty, But isn't it a pity, That the sunshine is followed by a thunder, And thoughts of going under, And is it any wonder Why the sea's calling out to me I seem to spend my whole life running, From people who would be, The death of you and me, 'Cause I can feel the storm clouds, Sucking up my soul.

@@ccarolcunhawhy? Noel done vocals on some of Oasis' best songs. Liam in his day was amazing but unfortunately his voice is going downhill. He struggles these days. In Oasis' heyday every gig was amazing, I went to at least 60 & that's a conservative estimate. Been to 5 Liam gigs & he's no where near the singer he was
