About Noel Gallagher:
Noel Gallagher was the main songwriter, lead guitarist and occasional lead vocalist of Oasis, one of the biggest and most loved bands ever to emerge from the UK. His band played a tremendous role in shaping and inspiring contemporary guitar music from the 1990’s onwards. Noel’s continued success with the High Flying Birds cements his position as one of the most prolific and successful British songwriters of the last 50 years.
Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds first emerged in 2011 with their eponymous album released in October of that year. The album went double platinum in the UK and has sold over 2.5 million copies worldwide. The release of the debut album was supported by a touring schedule covering 150 live shows in 32 countries.
This was followed by ‘Chasing Yesterday’, released in March 2015 - the first album to be produced as well as written by Noel, with 122 further shows in 28 countries.
A third album, ‘Who Built The Moon?’, was recorded in sessions spanning 2 years with renowned producer and composer David Holmes in Belfast and London released in November 2017.
There followed a series of multi-genre EPs released over the course of 2019 and 2020, all receiving high critical acclaim.
June 2021 saw the release of ‘Back The Way We Came: Vol 1 (2011-2021)’ - a Best Of celebrating a decade of Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds. This was the bands 4th consecutive Number 1 album and the 12th Number 1 album across Noel’s career. 2021 also saw Noel named as Record Store Day’s official ambassador.
Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds played Glastonbury’s Pyramid stage in June 2022, delivering a career-spanning set to one of the weekend’s biggest crowds. The show was the culmination of a summer of acclaimed sold-out outdoor venues across the UK.
Fast forward to 2023 and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds are looking ahead to their much anticipated fourth studio album, ‘Council Skies’, due for release 2nd June. From the evocative album title to the cover art, to the lyrics themselves, ‘Council Skies’ sees Noel Gallagher bringing a more personal perspective, reclaiming his past and paying homage to his Mancunian roots. His most varied and accomplished solo record to date, Noel’s new album is a record framed by confidence, risk-taking, surefooted creative freedom, and great emotional depth.
The first singles taken from the album - ‘Pretty Boy’ and ‘Easy Now’ - were met with a hail of critical and commercial success by fans and media alike. ‘Pretty Boy’ has also been remixed by The Cure’s Robert Smith, taking the track to a new spaced-out dimension.
Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds commence touring in early June 20023 with a 26 date USA co-headline tour with Garbage before returning to the UK an extensive run of outdoor venues including a huge homecoming show at Manchester’s Wythenshawe Park before closing the year with an arena tour in December.

It's not really that difficult to release an album of 10 or 11 songs every 3 years though is it ? I'm sure anyone with a pen and a piece of paper could write 3 or 4 songs a year if that was their only job to do !! It's not like he's working 12 hours a day 5 days a week punching holes in crumpets on the Warburtons production line for minimum wage and having to juggle writing 4 songs a year in the process. I've wrote 4 songs in the last 2 weeks myself

@Martin McGuire imagine being the sole writer of an average of 30 tracks for a new album......and then consider that other artists who don't write or play a single note or compose a single lyric take the same amount of time to release music. Noel has a musical prowess that is vastly critiqued when he's one of the very few who we at least get "him"

It's a typical NH song- good moments, broken horrendous bits, back to OK - then just elevator music with off-key singing for the remainder. And this video had potential but they went nuts with the silly drone shots - Why are there drone shots? Tell the story on the council grounds. It shows a lack of discipline like the song itself.

Very few songwriters have had a 30+ year run of writing quality tunes like Noel Gallagher. He is amongst elite quality when it comes to his longs he’s been at the top of his game.

Music became his way to vent and escape. He's rough on the outside because of their upbringing in Burnage but underneath it is a softhearted person. No one writes songs like he has without being soft and vulnerable. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger or so they say.

Noel Gallagher is clearly a smooth songwriter. He reminds me of McCartney who will keep writing songs and entertain the fans until the age of 100. Noel deserves to be in the Rock and Roll hall of fame, for sure

This is a lot of music..... there is so much going on in this... it has a lot of depth to it. It took 5 listens over 2 days...then I was hooked. It feels so retro but refreshingly new... and so uplifting. He really has beared his musical soul since he went alone. Just brilliant.

I saw him a couple nights ago in Taunton with Ride and The Joy Formidable. Great support acts and of course a stellar performance from the man himself with Don't Look Back In Anger as the final song of the night. Worth every penny!!!

This didn't grab me at first, BUT after a few listens, it's superb, another NG classic 👌

Sort of fell out of love with music over the last few years, Covid and cancer stuff, and I've spent that time surviving on the odd bits of music I heard on the Internet. But recently my love of music has been sparked again by someone called Ren and now by Noels album. I've just bought the double CD version of Council Skies.
